《How to Avoid Death on a Daily Basis》A Word From The Author
Advertisement
Hello,
Chapter 38: Farewell To Probet marks the end of the first volume. Colin and company will be moving to the big city in Volume 2.
Before that, I will be taking a one week break. Chapters for the second volume will resume from Monday 21st March.
I have posted a chapter a day (sometimes more) for the last 30 days straight and am a bit burned out. This story was improvised and written on the day of release with no editing and only a quick check for typos (I’m sure I missed loads) and I never knew where I was going.
If you thought the pace was a little slow or it went off on some odd tangents, that’s why. I’m going to use the same process for Volume 2, so a week to recharge feels like a reasonable break.
I know people found the chapters a bit short, but they did get longer as I figured out the story. When I start the next volume the chapters will probably get shorter again as I try to work out a plot. Apologies in advance.
In the meantime, I would love any feedback or thoughts you have on Volume 1. Characters you liked/disliked. Things you want more/less of. Even stuff you’d like to see them deal with (encounters, monsters, character-types). I’m happy to try and work in suggestions as I go. Although I doubt the end results will be anything you (or I) expected.
Someone made a comment that the characters were behaving like bandits and if a real hero came across them, he would probably kill them all. I thought that was interesting and plan to have them meet a typical hero-sama in the upcoming story. Who will come out on top, I wonder?
If you have time, any reviews or ratings would be appreciated (or just like a review already up that you agree with).

I only have 11 ratings: nine 5*, one 1* and one 0.5* (I have a calculator! Well, an app on my phone). You can rate as high or low as you feel, just knowing people think the story is worth a vote is the main thing (although I hope to not piss off anyone else into giving me 0.5 stars, didn’t even know that was possible).
Thanks very much for reading and following the story. See you in a week.
regards,
mooderino

That which does not kill me, makes me stronger
Authors note: I will release 1 chapter a week. Please rate / comment, if there are suggestions for plot and character that i like i will incorporate them into the story. I will post a chapter and edit later so apologies for small errors. Gets the chapter up quicker. This novel is a futuristic VMMORP with a twist, set in a dystopian Australian future in 3040. The main character is Braizo Nakamura, a 17 year old Japanese / Aboriginal Australian teenager who is confined in solitary confinement for life years in one Australia's toughest adult prisons. The worlds first murderer for 100 years, Braizo is crippled by an abnormality in his brain which prevents him using any neural implants or tech. Locked away since he was 14 for a revenge killing, without contact with another human being, Braizo has no idea of the change that swept the world only months after his incarceration. It was in 2077 that the great spaceship of the Warden appeared over the skies of earth and revealed a shocking truth, not only were human beings not alone in the universe, but their countless humans spread across millions of galaxies. The branch of humanity on earth was merely part of an old, thought to be extinct bloodline. The Warden had sought to use this bloodline for his own purposes as part of the Great Game, a fully immersive virtual reality world that was created by an unknown entity billions of years in the past. The Great Game was now populated by players from millions of different civilisations across countless galaxies. Braizo is forced into the Great Game by an old enemy in an attempt to kill him, but instead of dying Braizo receives a special ability that is both a curse and a blessing. So begins his adventures in the Great Game.
