Chapter 89
Beginning’s End 7
-:-
Theo couldn't help but admit that fighting in a very low tech manner was surprisingly exhilarating.
He finally understood why a certain villain from a certain video game about Gears made out of Solid Metal enjoyed using a revolver despite having access to the most advanced weaponry in the world
There was a certain …. He wasn't sure what word can describe it…. Maybe sexual gratification?
Let’s go with that.
There was a certain level of sexual gratification to fighting outside one’s comfort zone and actually kicking ass while doing so.
While Theo didn't share that certain villain’s love for the revolver, he did understand the joy of fighting in the good old fashion way.
In Theo’s case, it was to use any weapon he could find to kill the enemy, then steal their stuff and use it to kill more enemies.
At the moment, Theo had an AK47 with a lot of fresh magazines, a bullet proof vest, 2 Glock G19 pistols which replaced the Colt M1911s due to the better shape of the latter, 2 combat knives and his beloved crowbar.
Quite a large improvement from the stuff he had during the highway shootout.
While looting one of the fridges for some orange juice, Theo checked on his enemies’ status via his spy drones.
Out of the original 10, there were only 4 survivors left.
It was 5 a few seconds ago, but Theo’s first victim bled out due to severe injury to his Femoral Artery.
It wasn't the most glorious way to go, but such was the will of the battlefield. No one can really chose how to die.
The only reason why Theo was able to take out more than half of their group so quickly was because he had the element of surprise.
However, he no longer held that advantage in his hand.
The two side knew where each other was thanks to their own respective spy cameras.
While Theo could blind his enemy by tracking down and destroying each and every hidden camera, he could not do so because he had the added handicap of being under observation by the superheroes.
If he fought in a manner beyond what they believed was possible, this could get them to investigate Theo and even find out that he was in fact The Boss and maybe even the owner of the Terminator Armor that nuked a city in Alkebulan.
While Theo’s current rampage could be considered as self defence, his activities as The Boss and the nuking of an entire city worthy of a multiple life sentence without parole.
This was something that must not happen…. At least, not yet.
At the moment, the 4 survivors were hunkering down on the third floor which they turned into a small fortress.
There claymore mines by the stairs, 3 stationary automated machine gun turrets, 1 flying gun drone and the 4 survivors.
The thing that had Theo worried was a spike in heat in the 3rd floor.
It was a the sign of the thing that Theo dreaded the most in this world…. Magic.

Magic was too unpredictable, top illogical and too OP for Theo to deal with.
Whatever the 4 were doing up there, he needed to stop them ASAP.
However, going in guns blazing against an opponent that was ready for him was not a wise decision.
As such, Theo decided to think outside the box.
Theo quickly ran around the first floor for anything he could use.
It didn't take long until Theo found a decent number of large cylindrical propane tanks.
With a childish smile on his face, Theo immediately went to work.
He hastily checked the tanks by giving them a strong tap with his crowbar and found only 5 of them were full enough to serve his purpose.
It was less than he hoped for, but he had to make do.
He then transmuted together a makeshift launch pad that from random garbage he found lying around.
He positioned the propane tank with the butt facing as vertically as possible and the safety valve on the bottom.
While doing this, the airborne gun drone appeared outside one of the windows and used 2 AK47s mounted on a adaptable platform to shower Theo with a barrage of bullets.
Thanks to the video feeds from the spy drones hidden around the neighborhood, Theo was able to dive for cover well ahead of time.
Unfortunately, the propane tank launcher he spent a couple of seconds prepping was shot to bits.
MYTH: Propane tanks explode if they get shot.
FACT: It will violently scatter the gas inside it without causing an explosion. A large fire could be started if there was an open flame that could ignite the scattered propane.
Theo open fired while moving from cover to cover in an attempt to get closer to the drone.
Sadly, his bullets bounced off the drone.
It seemed that it was made of bullet proof armor.
It wasn't as advanced as Theo’s combat drones, but it was a fearsome opponent nevertheless.
The drone moved around the building to get a better shot at Theo. It also moved slowly to avoid getting caught in the tight alleys of the neighborhood.
This gave Theo the opening he needed.
As the drone unintentionally moved closer in order to get to a more preferable firing position, Theo charged forward, jumped out of the window and violently shoved his left arm into one of the 4 propellers, effectively destroying the blades.
He also did the same thing to the propeller beside it by plunging his AK47 into it.
With the loss of 2 propellers and the additional weight of Theo hanging on to it, the drone crashed into a nearby car in spectacular fashion.
Though dazed, Theo quickly recovered and used his left arm to smash what he believed was the receiver for the signal coming from the 4.
After a few good taps, the drone was effectively disabled.
Theo had no time to bask in the glory of his success.
He quickly ran back into the building in order to avoid the hailstorm of bullets from the third floor.

After taking a couple of seconds to catch his breath, Theo returned to setting up the propane tanks into launch positions as fast as possible.
Thanks to the power of Midas Alchemy, it took him a mere 30 seconds to complete everything.
He ate one of his disgusting super high calorie bars before moving to the next stage of the plan.
There were only 4 propane tanks left.
These will probably won't get Theo the outcome he hoped for, but it was better than nothing.
Theo touched each of the propane tanks and used his midas alchemy to increase the temperature and pressure of the gas inside to one level short of exploding.
He then weakened the materials on the safety valve before heading out the room.
Theo took a crouching position 2 rooms down the hall where he had a clear line of sight of the propane tanks.
After a deep breath, he fired his newly looted AK47 at the safety valves.
The propane tanks became makeshift rockets that violently punched through the floors above.
Thanks to the low quality make of nearly all of the buildings in this neighborhood, the propane tanks easily went through all the way to the third floor without losing too much energy.
Unfortunately, the improvised propane tank rockets were impossible to aim.
Only 2 of the 4 were able to hit their intended target.
Two of the tanks smashed into the stationary turrets and pushed them out of the building.
One of the propane tanks missed completely and went straight out the fifth floor.
The last tank smashed into one of the survivors and sent him 10 meters into the air before gravity forced both the tank and the human to smash into the pavement below in a very gruesome spectacle.
As such, there were only 3 survivors and one turret to eliminate.
However, before Theo could think of his next course of action, the unintended consequence of his mad plan immediately made itself known.
It started as a small rumble, as if something was in the beginning stages of falling apart.
The cracks began to spread from the holes were the propane tanks punched through.
And without warning, the building’s collapse kicked into overdrive
“Oh shit!”
Theo rolled to the side as a piece of the ceiling smashed into his original location.
He got up and ran as fast as he could while dodging debris and jumped out of a window to safety.
For some unknown reason, he has been jumping out of windows as of late.
He went into a neighboring building and watched the collapse from relative safety.
It took about 10 seconds before things calmed down.
About half of the building collapsed, namely the parts where the propane tank rockets went through.
Unfortunately, the building’s implosion made it difficult to see what exactly happened inside.
As such, Theo went back in to investigate.
First up, the last automated turret was crushed underneath the rubble.
Thank the gods for small miracles.
He needed at least his power armor to take on such a precise machinery and walk away with all of his limbs attached.
As for the last 2 survivors, they were very much alive and well, much to Theo’s annoyance.
Both fell to the second floor after the whole building collapse.
While the 2 had the high ground, the floor between the first and second floor was almost non-existent.
Thus, Theo simply had to aim upwards and fire.
However, the last 2 survivors were now extremely cautious of Theo and immediately dove for cover the moment they saw him, thus giving Theo no time to line up a shot.
Theo ran from cover to cover towards the stairs as the 2 fired blindly from cover.
Theo retaliated as he ran, but the debris made it much harder to get in a clear shot.
As he entered the staircase and reached the second floor, he immediately realized his error.
He poked his head out before quickly retracting it as a hail of bullets passed through.
At the same time, he heard a thud on the first floor
Theo quickly went down and blind fired from the corner of the staircase.
True to his suspicion, someone dove into cover and began firing back.
One of the 2 jumped down from his highground to catch Theo in a pincer maneuver.
Wise move.
Theo accessed his spy drones to get the 2’s position.
Much to his surprise, he spotted a trap card near the one on the first floor just waiting to be activated.
Theo once again fired blindly from cover.
However, thanks to the spy drone’s assistance, his shots were deadly accurate.
He couldnt land a clear shot due to the fact that the one on the first floor was behind cover.
However, Theo was able to urge his opponent to move a few steps sideways.
A few seconds later, a scream of agony could be heard from the first floor.
This was because the enemy stepped into one of the few punji traps Theo set up earlier.
Theo rushed to the enemy and bashed his brains out with a well placed crowbar to the forehead.
He then grabbed a random piece of metal and threw it up in the air.
With the help of the spy drone, Theo was able to pull off a ricochet shot that punched a hole through the enemy’s neck.
It wasn't lethal, but it didn't take the poor bloke long to bleed out despite his desperate attempts to stop the bleeding.
And thus, the battle ended.
…. Or at least, that’s what Theo thought…
The surge of heat propagated from the third floor.
After a flash of bright light engulfed the area, Theo spotted a group of people that he did not want to see given the circumstances.
They were men with thick muscles, metal helmets, chain mails, fur coats and menacing runic weaponry.
The two words that escaped Theo’s lips summed up what these warriors were.
“…. *sigh*.... Fucking Norscans”
