Chapter 71
The Dark One’s Respite 1
-:-
2 weeks after the Alkebulan Nuclear Incident
Vermilion City
A Certain Building in the middle of Hellhole District
“There is no place like home! How I missed you Vermilion City!” said Theo as a random thug’s skull exploded under the sheer force of his adamantium straight punch.
He quickly ran into a room as the many many enemies he had unleashed a hailstorm of bullets from a combination of AK47s, UZIs and M1911 pistols.
A fairly decent line up of the most numerous firearms in the world.
On Theo’s side, he had his favorite FN P90 (the sexiest gun in existence), a lot of ammo, 3 fragmentation grenades, 4 Beretta 92 pistols, and HF Blade and his signature heavily modified Z49 Scout Armor.
Outside the building were 5 stealth drones had 1 Beretta ARX160 assault rifle with silencers. While drones were purely for surveillance, the ARX160s was just in case things went too far south.
Now you’re probably wondering, ‘what the hell is going on?!’
After the whole thing in Alkebulan, Theo has proceeded with his official assignment and fixed stuff throughout the world. The days that followed were peaceful and boring.
Because he finished his entire to-do list so quickly, Theo was able to return to Vermilion City 10 days earlier than planned.
In order to get some much needed R&R, Theo told no one that he was coming back and sneaked into the city at the cover of night.
Aside form the R&R, the main reason why Theo snuck in unannounced was because of the media.
It was public knowledge that Nosferatu hired Theo for a job and was pleased with his performance. This was reflected on his paycheck that was rumored to be at least 1 million Rooks.
This was inaccurate.
Officially the sum was about 950000 Rooks.
Unofficially, his total income was about 5 million Rooks split into multiple bank accounts. And this was only from Nosferatu.
Jabir’s payment for the massive overhaul of his tech was around 20 million Rooks. This was a massive discount compared to buying all the equipment from the legal and illegal markets.
Quite simply, Theo was now very rich.
Even though the media only knew about the 950 thousand Rooks, it was still newsworthy.
But more importantly, he was one of the extremely few people who was able to speak to Nosferatu outside of the rare news conference.
Theo was literally a walking source of info that they will never ever get. To the hyenas of the media, he was fresh meat.
It goes without saying that Theo had absolutely no intention becoming their golden goose.
As such, he entered the city secretly without anyone’s knowledge.
He spent the first 2 days in typical R&R fashion.
He slept, ate, watched porn and made some headway in his backlog of projects.
At the 3rd day, he was bored out of his mind.
To remedy this, Theo decided to reveal himself to the frog faced doctor and asked him for some jobs that required a little violence.

The doctor was more than happy to provide some entertainment for Theo.
While he didn't need the money at the moment, he was a greedy asshole. If he could be paid for doing what he loved, all the better.
As such, Theo was asked to do a simple pest extermination.
His job was to drive out a decently sized group from a certain building. What surprised Theo was that this group was a cell of the Black Bible.
It went without saying that Theo was excessively happy to meet them. He would ‘invite them to tea’ and ‘play lots of games’ with them.
The building they took over was an apartment complex that belonged to the doctor.
As such, they were sacrifices for Theo’s bloodlust and experiments.
Theo didn't even wait till the 3rd day was over before mounting his attack.
The building was 5 stories high and had about 24 armed thugs.
It was 25 before his fist went through the poor man’s skull.
This was a mistake in Theo’s part.
While managing his bloodlust is important, his experiment takes priority. And that experiment required ‘volunteers’ that were sort-off alive.
As such, this particular group of thugs would have the honor of directly contributing to the advancement of mankind.
With that in mind, Theo assessed his situation.
In the first floor, there were 5 thugs and Theo
3 on the second floor.
9 on the third floor. It seemed that the third floor was the main base for this group.
3 on the fourth floor
4 on the fifth floor.
And as you’d expect when you hear gunfire, everyone was heading towards the first floor with their guns at the ready.
Theo wasn't sure how many he could keep alive given the situation.
“Oh well. Whatever will be, will be.”
With that said, Theo rushed out of the room he was hiding in.
Almost immediately, he was met with a hailstorm of bullets from all sides.
3 to his right and 2 to his left with all of them firing blindly from cover. At the cost of accuracy, the thugs only had their guns and a portion of their arms exposed to harm
This was generally a very smart move.
However there were 2 problems.
First, Theo only needed to lie flat on the ground to dodge most of the bullets.
None of the thugs could see what was happening from behind their cover, thus assumed that Theo was standing.
They also knew of the infamy of ‘The Boss’.
Quite frankly they were terrified of him and would rather not face him directly.
Now for the second problem.
While shooting blindly from cover was a viable defensive tactic, it only works on normal opponents.
To Theo who had inhuman levels of accuracy, exposing an extremely small part of the body was a big mistake.
While lying flat on the floor, he open fired with his FN P90 at the 2 on the left.
Screams of pain erupted as their hands were peppered with bullets. Fapping with either hand was now impossible.

He then did the same to the 3 on the right.
Unfortunately he was able to get one of them because the other 2 were in the process of reloading
Theo quickly stood up and rushed towards the 2 remaining threats.
Upon entering the corner, he quickly shot one of them in the shoulder while his adamantium grabbed the gun of the other.
He crushed the gun along with the poor man’s hands while shooting him in both kneecaps.
He then threw the man into the other one before shooting the other one in the shoulders and knees.
He ran to the first 2 victims and shot them in the same areas.
With that, they could no longer walk or use their guns. But more importantly, it would make it much easier for Theo to ‘collect’ them later.
While he was thinking of the ‘games’ that he and his guests would be playing, his body moved instinctively to dodge a bullet aimed at his head.
In a motion he has done hundreds of times at this point, Theo rolled to the side before firing at the enemies at the end of the hallway.
The 3 that tried to ambush him was instantly turned into swiss cheese.
“.... SHIT!”
Theo was so used to killing people as of late that he unintentionally aimed for the kill right at the get go.
His murderous intent has just costed him 3 ‘friends’
“Hmm…. maybe I can still use their bodies for something….” Thought Theo as he accessed the video feeds for the second floor before heading up.
Most people from the upper floors have gathered in the second floor. Clearly they hoped to win with numerical superiority.
Among the 17 remaining pests, the 9 on the third floor were Black Bible cultists. The rest were hired guns.
However, Theo was actually glad they gathered all in one spot.
He didn't need to hunt them one at a time.
Despite promising to himself to hold back, the sight of the familiar robes of the Black Bible cult sent Theo into a silent yet extremely violent frenzy.
While he has gotten used to the nightmares that plagued him whenever his bloodlust wasn't satiated, it didn't change the fact that the Black Bible cult had a very special place in his heart.
In a sense, he felt gratitude for these demented lowlives.
While he despised them for using innocent lives for their twisted rituals of nonsense, it was thanks to them that Theo was able to see the world for what it truly was.
Inefficient. Painfully inefficient.
The world could be so much better than it currently was if only the ones on top properly made use of their resources.
Thanks to that revelation, Theo took it upon himself to contribute to the betterment of humanity no matter how small.
And it was all thanks to the Black Bible cult.
To show his appreciation, Theo decided not to kill them.
That would be too quick.
Too painless.
He will show his gratitude to them by giving them the honor of contributing to the benefit of all,
With that in mind, Theo made his move.
While he was still in the center of the stairway, he threw all 3 of his frag grenades at the enemy. He made sure to aim for the areas that were furthest away from the Black Bible cultist.
Upon hearing the explosions, Theo rushed in with his P90 at the ready.
Unfortunately for Theo, only 4 people survived the initial blast. 3 cultist and 1 thug.
While the thug was a bit disoriented, the cultists had some sort of blood shield surrounding them.
It reminded him of something Nosferatu used during their violent first meeting.
Theo open fired as he strafed from cover to cover.
The first one to go down was the thug as bullets went into his kneecaps.
The cultist charged at Theo with their daggers and the complete confidence that their blood shields would protect them.
Much to Theo’s relief, it was nowhere near as powerful as Nosferatu.
The shields collapsed after receiving only 3 bullets from Theo’s P90. Clearly the Black Bible cultists did not completely understand how to use the blood shield
Theo capitalized with brutal ferocity.
After breaking through the first cultist’s shield, Theo shot him in the kneecaps before bashing the poor slob in the face with a front kick.
He caught the dagger of the second cultist with his adamantium left arm, then proceeded to crush the dagger along with the hand that was holding it. The scream of agony that followed was music to Theo’s ears
At the same time, he open fired at the third cultist to destroy his shield.
The moment that happened, the cultist dove into the nearest cover he could find.
This gave Theo time to shoot the second cultist in legs and shoulders before finishing off with a knee to the gut
Using this opportunity, the third cultist ran for his life.
Sadly, a bullet to the ass made sure he didn't get far.
Theo caught up with the cultist and violently pinned him to the wall.
“Answer me: Does the Black Bible cult do human sacrifice?” asked Theo as he shot the cultist in the knee.
“AGH!!! Yes! We do! Please dont kill me!” replied the cultist.
“Dont worry. I promise on my father’s name that you will not die. I will put your group through human experiments so diabolical that it vastly exceeds the brutality of your rituals…. But none of you will die. Even if you beg for me to kill you, you will never die. Rejoice you worthless worm! For the endless pain and suffering you are about to experience is for the glory of mankind!”
