Chapter 50
Wild Hunt 8
-:-
5 Days Later
Islands of Norsca
Volsung City
Things have been a little weird since the whole prophecy thing a few days ago.
The people of Volsung generally left Theo alone.
The hushed whispers and curious stares were a bit annoying but bearable.
A few people would go so far as clear the path for him when he walked by.
They would even stand in attention.
This was very uncomfortable and very guilt tripping.
Especially when Theo wanted to wipeout Norsca.
One does not simply kill people who prostate themselves in front of thee.
Seriously… just how much do they believe in the words of high as hell nutjobs?
They did provide a particularly large hut as his workshop. It could easily engulf the F-22A Raptor and still be half full.
It was located a bit of distance from the city and the airport, so it was kind of inconvenient.
This was a welcome perk which result in him being able to focus on his preparations for the raid the pleasure cruise ship Sanctuary in 2 days.
First priority were weapons and tech
Learning from his mistake of allowing Nosferatu to track him down, Theo made steps to prevent the same thing from happening again.
Instead of transmuting the guns and ammo straight away, he created a few fully automated fabricators that could manufacture his firearms.
They could take raw materials, process them, mold them and assemble them into a finished product.
He spent most of the first day creating these fabricators.
The entire process of making his weapons and tech took 3 days from start to finish.
It was slow as hell compared to the Midas Alchemy which could do it in minutes, but not a spec of Theo’s signature was left on the guns and ammo.
The main downside was the sheer size of the fabricators.
The largest was the one that processed raw materials and mold them.
It was 25% larger than the hut that was provided to him, thus it was left outside for everyone to see.
It was a noisy, very slow and was inefficient. At least when compared to Midas Alchemy.
In normal manufacturing terms, it was highly efficient and companies would drop tons of cash just to get it.
Within 2 days, the fabricators were able to produce 10 Beretta ARX160, 10 FN P-90, 30 Beretta 92, 10000 normal and armor piercing rounds for each type of gun, 3000 anti-vampire silver bullets, 5 special spy drones with gum drone launchers, 30 frag grenades, 30 flash grenades, 30 incendiary grenades and 2000 7.62x51mm NATO rounds.
The materials were provided by Nosferatu via a massive cargo ship parked near the Volsung city.

With the fabricator doing all the work with his armaments, Theo was free to pursue another project that simply could not be replicated by the fabricators.
In the worst case scenario where they failed to stop the Sway twins from getting afflicted by the Mad Progenitor Curse, taking out a vampire that endlessly regenerates, immune to sunlight and has a vast horde of lesser version of itself required a more blunt approach.
There were 2 solutions to this.
First a magical weapon called ‘The Kin Slayer’. This was a massive 2 meter long sword that nullified Vampiric regeneration at the slightest touch, thus permanently wounding and killing the vampire.
Apparently, this was a weapon that belonged to Cain, the first vampire.
Nosferatu was the one that normally wielded the Kin Slayer when hunting for the Mad Progenitor Curse.
However, there were many times that the turning happened during the daytime when Nosferatu couldn’t get to them.
As such, the zombie-like outbreak was 100 times worse than it should have been.
Solution: The Terminator Armor.
The 3 meter tall super power armor was capable of swinging the Kin Slayer with one hand and was tough enough to last a few rounds with a brawl with a Progenitor.
A massive horde of zombie knock offs and an unstable fledgling Progenitor was but a minor inconvenience to the most powerful tech Theo had to date.
Unfortunately, similar to the unfinished Terminator armor back in Vermilion City, there was no way Theo could finish this one before the raid on Sanctuary
At the moment, he was about 50% complete of the internal components and metallic muscle fibers.
There was still a long way to go.
While Theo was making small progresses on the Terminator Armor….
“THE BOSS! COME OUT YOU SHITTY BRAT AND FACE YOUR BETTERS!” roared a voice so loud that Theo felt like the hut shook from the sheer volume.
Based on the hidden cameras Theo placed all around the hut, there was a large angry rugged looking man with a battle axe right outside the hut. Beside him was a clearly uneasy Ulkov, 5 equally uneasy druids and 12 honor guards.
Theo wasn’t sure what they wanted so he took an incendiary grenade and one of his pistols with him.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t wearing his power armor and the loud mouth seemed to have the patience of a starving fat kid in a buffet.
As such, Theo prepared for the worst and activated the F-22A’s weapon systems
“Yes? Can I help you?” Theo asked the man
“You got some nerve you little shit. I don’t know how you tricked the druids into giving you the Einherjar’s hut but I will not stand for it! As per our ancestral custom, I challenge you to an honorable duel to the death!” roared the man

Annoyed and confused, Theo turned to Ulkov for answers.
“This is Antyr, son of Gwydurd, the current Jarl of Volsung. He was out raiding during your prophecy so he refused to believe the ancestors wisdom” replied Ulkov in an apologetic manner.
“I don’t believe it either. If he wants to take the hut, he can have it.” replied Theo.
“The hut means nothing! The ancestors have sullied the pride of the Volsung by bending their knees to an outsider. I will not stand for this! I will restore the clan’s honor in ritual combat!” roared the man named Antyr.
For some reason, Ulkov and the druids looked very apologetic.
It seemed that the drug induced prophecy really affected them.
“Let me guess… I have no right to refuse?” Theo asked Ulkov
“Sadly no.” replied Ulkov
“*sigh*… I can fight with any means I see fit right?”
“Of course. As long as its an honorable 1 vs 1 duel, then any weapons or tactics is acceptable”
“Fine. Let’s get this over with” said Theo
He has built up quite a considerable level of stress from not being able to kill the massive amounts of criminals around him.
He has kept this bloodthirst in check by busying himself with the Terminator Armor, but even he has limits.
Time to let out some steam.
-:-
1 hour later
Theo in his Z49 Scout Armor stood in the middle of a dirt ring in the edge of a forest just outside Volsung City.
And as you’d expect of a warrior culture, there were a fair bit of curious onlookers interested on the duel of the son of their Jarl and the one favored by the ancestors.
Even some important looking people were among the crowd.
Since this was in the middle of the day, Nosferatu couldn’t join in on the fun.
Theo did provide him with a not-spy drone to watch the action.
Armed with the Beretta ARX160, 8 Beretta 98 pistols, 3 frag grenades and the built in omnidirectional flamethrower, Theo stood in silent excitement on quenching his parched throat for the blood of the damned.
On the other side, Antyr was decked out with thick hide armor, a metal horned helm and an intimidating Dane Axe. All of which were magical in nature based on its abnormally high temperature.
Among the audience, one particularly important looking man stepped forward.
The crowd silenced as they waited for his words.
“ I am Jarl Gwydurd of Volsung and I am the judge for this duel to the death. As per conditions set by Antyr, the winner will take all the belongings of the loser by right of conquest. Does both sides agree to this condition?” asked Gwydurd.
Antyr roared in enthusiasm will Theo simply nodded.
Theo had a feeling the bastard was just after his stuff, thus he accepted despite not being told about the whole ‘right of conquest’ thing.
“Both sides are on accord.” Said Gwydurd. “Then without further ado…. BEGIN!”
Antyr wasted no time and lunged at Theo with feral speeds.
While Theo planned on slowly playing with the arrogant cunt, his nearly one week of criminal killing abstinence left him with no self-control.
He unleashed the omni directional flamethrower in its full fury.
A massive firestorm engulfed the ring and the nearby surroundings in a wave of infernal flames.
None of the crowds was harmed thanks to the barriers hastily erected by the druids.
Truth be told, he hoped that he could take out some future raiders with that attack. Sadly, it was not meant to be.
On the other hand, Antyr didn’t have the time to defend his eyes, ears and mouth from the firestorm.
Antyr powered through the flames in the hopes that he could take down Theo before he goes down.
This was very very wrong.
The flames burned Antyr’s eyes to the point of blindness and his ears melted into the red hot metal helm he wore.
To make matters worse, the flames burned through the oxygen like crazy.
And since Theo kept firing off the flamethrower, Antyr was not only choking to death, his skin was melting under the intense heat.
Theo had an oxygen supply of 30 minutes in his power armor, thus was relatively unharmed in the middle of the hellfire.
Theo simply stayed away from Antyr while blasting the bastard with flames.
The flamethrower’s fuel lasted for another 20 seconds before running out.
The result was a horribly burned yet still alive and still standing Antyr.
Norscan toughness was as impressive as the rumors suggest.
However, the brave Norscan was on death’s door and Theo had no intention of letting him live.
As he took aim to deliver the final blow….
“HOLD A MOMENT!” roared Gwydurd from the audience. “ I understand that you have every reason not to spare Antyr’s life, but he is my stupid son and as a father, I beg you to-“
Theo pumped an entire magazine into Antyr without mercy.
He then approached the fallen corpse and smashed the head with his adamantium left arm before leaving without looking back
Satisfied with his stress relieving exercise, Theo returned to work.

Saga of Fallen Kings, Book I: The Revenant Prince
The Philosopher King once conquered the known world, his power seemingly unlimited and his armies inexhaustible. Since that time his might has slowly unravelled, and his once steadfast empire has begun to crack, splinter and devour itself. In the isolated Southern Realms, where even magic has abandoned them, none of that matters. For years it has been filled with warring kingdoms, where as many kings die to the blade as to old age, and constant battles tear apart the land. When one such kingdom invades its old enemy, the King and his heir, Prince Caden, are killed. Unable to accept the loss of his family Prince Arian is broken, and when the Philosopher King stretches out his hand in aid, Arian takes it without a second thought. When Caden wakes from death, he's different. His eyes and soul have changed, and he finds a world filled with friends who no longer trust he's even human. Suddenly thrust onto the throne and indebted to the Philosopher King, Caden has no choice but to keep going - he must finish what his father started, and try to survive the machinations of the figure who now owns his fealty. Meanwhile something beyond death stirs for him, desiring nothing more than to drag him back into its embrace. Author's Note: This story used to be known as "A King of his Own", but after some consideration I have decided to rebrand it. The first reason is that I was growing increasingly dissatisfied with the title. The second is that I have come increasingly to view this story as a 'saga' containing multiple 'books' rather than one long, continuous publication, and as I did so I realized that as I was quickly getting to a point in the story where I wanted the first 'book' to end. This doesn't mean I'm going back on the things I said below - they're just going to continue in the next book of the Saga of Fallen Kings. :) Also, be aware that I do plan to edit this at some point. Though I take care to squash out any obvious errors when I proof-read, and do simple edits in that process, at some point I'm almost certainly going to do large edits that might significantly change parts of the story. Old author's notes: This started as a completely random writing session. There was no purpose or direction, but as I kept typing an entire world began to form in my mind that I knew I had to write about. My plan is to turn this story into a veritable medieval fantasy epic that spans an entire world, follows multiple character and storylines, and takes place over many years. The story has quite a grounded, almost 'realistic' start, but many more fantastical elements will be introduced, expanded upon and become central to the narrative. I have ideas for this story that make me genuinely excited and I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy writing it, and join me on what will hopefully become a truly massive fantasy epic. If you do enjoy this story please consider following, rating and leaving a review. I'm also happy to answer any questions or comments you have.
