Heroic Bloodshed 8

30 minutes later

After setting up the 34th crude turret, Theo decided that the time for preparations was over.

While the duo spent the last few hours sneaking around, they also made sure that their ‘hunters’ would catch small glimpses of them to keep their interests.

This plan hinged on the number of scum that were actively hunting them.

The more groups chasing them, the greater the success the plan will have.

Based on the video feed from the spydrones flying about, the number of hunters has exceeded 1100.

This was due to some of the corrupt police officers joining in on the fun.

And as long as everyone knew that Theo and Juno were still in Hellhole, human greed would do the rest.

There were also some members of really big criminal organizations pretending not to care but were actually on the lookout for the duo.

Not bad.

Not bad at all.

From this point onward, the duo was on the offensive.

Hidden within the shadows of a building, Theo and Juno stalked a refurbished World War 2 jeep with a 50 caliber M2 Browning machinegun on it.

It was on the main road with lots of witnesses of both civilian and hunter backgrounds.

“Let’s do this” said Theo as he used his Beretta ARX160 to shower the jeep and its 5 passengers full of lead.

At the same time, Juno charged with her HF Blade drawn.

One of them was able to survive by diving out of the car and using it as cover.

His survival was short lived when Juno jumped over the car and impaled him in the head with her HR Blade.

Juno quickly began removing the corpses from the jeep.

And since this happened in the middle of a crowded street, there were a lot of witnesses.

To those who didn’t have a stake in this violent cat and mouse game, the simply dove for cover and watched in interest as to what would happen next.

To those thugs who were after the reward, they unsheathed their guns and took action.

“It’s the 50K maid! Don’t kill her! Just shoot her in the leg-” said a thug before a bullet went through his brain.

The thugs dove for safety as Theo provided cover fire for Juno.

Initially the thugs wanted to straight for Juno, but after Theo mowed down 6 brave souls, the rest stuck to cover and began firing at Theo.

This did very little to Theo since he used an entire building as a shield.

He also hid in the shadows and, as per HAA advanced range combat training, the only thing sticking out of cover was his gun and a small portion of his hands and face.

It was the perfect place to hunker down and generously fire wildly.

As for the thugs that hid behind cars, they were not safe from Theo at all.

Here’s the thing about Hollywood, they tend to not understand how the real world works

Depending on where you hide, normal cars DO NOT offer much protection from bullets.

Aside from the engine, bullets would go through any part of the car like a rock thrown into a glass window.

Modern cars were nothing like the WW2 jeep from earlier that was built for war

As such, those who hid at the door area died as Theo fired through them.

9 went down like a sack of potatoes

As for those who hid by the engine, Theo simply had to go to prone position and shoot their feet.

When they fell over, Theo had a clear shot of their body or their head.

5 thugs died in this manner.

“Seriously… this is like playing COD games… That game was easy as hell even in the hardest difficulty. And I’m not even good at shooter games”

With the thugs too busy running and dying, Juno was safely able to drive the jeep to Theo’s location.

Theo jumped on the back of the jeep, unfastened the machinegun from its mount platform, aimed it towards the thugs and unleashed hell.

The beautiful orchestra of gunfire, screams of agony and begging for ones life filled the air.

“Juno, head to the highway through the path we set but keep an ear out for my instructions. We might have to change course depending on the situation.” Said Theo

“Roger! I still haven’t applied for my drivers license so you better kill the police before they catch us!” replied Juno as she floored it.

With a loud screech, the jeep sped through the streets of Hellhole.

And as expected, it only took about 30 seconds before the hyenas of the criminal world caught up with them.

5 cars of varying make tailed the duo as they sped through the 4 lane street.

They wasted no time and opened fire at the duo, forcing Juno to do some evasive maneuvers

Theo responded by making excessive use of the M2 Browning

The occupants of the nearest car turned into tomato paste as Theo showered them with 50 cal rounds.

The car then crashed into another car, which in turn crashed into a small chapel, which then exploded in a great fireball for some reason.

“I don’t even want to know why a chapel would explode.”

The remaining 3 cars suddenly sped up recklessly.

Unfortunately for the duo, their vehicle was a refurbished WW2 jeep.

It didn’t have the horsepower to outrun the thugs fancy cars.

Theo focused fire and eliminated the one coming in from the left.

Unfortunately, the one on the right used some sort of nitro to catapult it right beside Juno.

Those inside tried to pull Juno into their car.

They immediately regretted it when Juno chopped off their arms.

Theo followed up by filling the car full of led.

Before Theo could destroy the last remaining car….

“TURN LEFT NOW!” said Theo

Juno forced the jeep into a drift and turn to the left.

This maneuver allowed them to dodge a car that attempted to ram them from the right.

Annoyingly enough, the one that attempted to ram them was the corrupt police that joined in for the hunt.

Based on the spydrones there was a large number of number of cars swarming on their position.

“Hahahaha! To think it would be this easy for us to lure them into the kill zones! Time to activate my trap card!”

Theo used his spydrones to send signals to cellphone strapped to the crude turrets.

Quite suddenly massive hailstorm of bullets turned not only the cop car but also some of the others nearby into beehives.

This also happened to those who were still far from the duo’s location.

If you didn’t know any better, it would have looked like some of the other groups back stabbed you in order to remove a competitor for the reward

This was especially true to those who were nowhere near the duo.

Why else would the others shoot at them for no apparent reason?

And given the general willingness of the citizens of Hellhole to backstab their fellow criminals for profit, the result of shooting each other (whether it was intentional or not) would be as you’d expect

Those who survived the initial barrage turned to the ones that they thought hated them enough to backstab them and didn’t hesitate to pepper them with bullets.

And naturally, those people being fired upon assumed that the one firing was trying to eliminate them in order to have less competition for the reward, thus they have no choice but to fire back.

And since people don’t have a lot of control as to where the bullets would fly after they leave the barrel, said bullets might just ricochet into another unrelated group which then misunderstands that other groups were trying to kill them off.

It was your typical highschool romantic comedy misunderstanding…. With cute girls being replaced by macho men and where the misunderstandings have very lethal consequences.

And so, the car chase for the duo turned into a car accident as the many vehicles ram into one another in hopes to eliminate their perceived enemies.

From there on out, it turned into a quagmire of death, bullets and screams of agony.

At that time, Theo jammed the M2 Browning on the jeep’s accelerator before jumping off with Juno.

They then disappeared into another alleyway with smiles of pure delight.
