Afternoon

Hellhole District

As per usual, Theo walked among the scum of society in the most depraved part of Vermilion City.

There were a couple of things that were different this time around though.

The first thing that was out of place was the beautiful eroticized Victorian maid walking beside Theo.

She had long violet hair, deep blue eyes and a snow white complexion.

Her erotic body was further emphasized by the body hugging maid outfit, short skirt, knee high boots and white leggings.

This was in fact Juno Saiga wearing a wig to hide her white hair and contact lenses to obscure her golden eyes.

Her entire outfit was made by Theo at her behest.

Naturally, everything she was wearing, even her underwear, was made from the same material as Theo’s power armor minus any tech, thus making it light weight and very tough.

Hidden in her skirt and belt were 2 HF Blades, 2 grappling guns, a few grenades and communication link with Theo.

Theo would have given her some guns if she wasn’t so horrible at range combat.

She was fine with firearms specialized in close range such as shotguns, but her precision drops exponentially the farther she was from the target.

As such, Juno relegated herself to melee frontline duty.

While Theo was relatively good in frontline combat, having the much better Juno on his side was a big plus.

The second and most significant change in Theo’s life in Hellhole was how the lowlives treated him.

Though nothing was said out loud, it was clear that the populace was terrified of him.

Like Moses and the Red Sea, the people stealthily moved out of his way.

It was a bizarre experience.

However, their action was logical and understandable.

Superheroes, even the younger ones, were more than a match to a hundred of your typical run of the mill thug.

A lot of the Hellhole citizens has probably experienced this first hand and have the scars to prove it.

Now imagine how they would view someone who fought 3 Superheroes and won?

Respect might be in their minds but fear definitely dominated their initial response.

Theo actually liked their attitude.

Now he had less crap to deal with.

However, as you’d expect of an area filled to the brim with scumbags, some cunning but not very smart people wanted to capitalize on Theo’s infamy.

Out of the many nameless faceless grunts in the background, one suddenly approached Theo.

“Nice to meet you, Boss! I must say you look particularly evil today!” said a man that was on full ass kissing mode.

Theo decided to use a new upgrade he just installed.

It was a simple facial recognition software that tapped into police records, Ms Samantha’s criminal list and the HAA records for verification.

It didn’t even take a second to get a hit.

The overly polite man was name Takeshi Marmaru with 8 charges of rape, 10 charges of murder, 5 charges of theft and 23 charges of public nudity.

Theo couldn’t help but sigh.

If Mr. Takeshi had only the public nudity charges, Theo would have made an interesting friend.

However, the Zifang native had too much baggage to be allowed to live.

However, before Theo could blow the man’s brains out, he decided explore one weapon in his arsenal that he had very little knowledge about.

“Victoria. Front and center please.” Said Theo as Juno stepped forward and bowed like a maid.

The backstory they decided for Juno was as follows:

Her name is Victoria and she doesn’t like to talk.

If she does need to communicate with others, she would either use her phone to type a message or whisper to Theo what she wants to say.

This was a precaution just in case someone was familiar with Juno’s voice.

Theo did offer to provide a voice scrambler, but Juno vetoed it because she didn’t like her ‘beautiful voice’ be tarnished by such trash.

Stupid nitpicking.

Anyways, Theo had wondered how far Juno would go for him.

She did say that she would do anything and everything he wanted.

Does this include murder?

As far as his data on her goes, she has never experienced a single life and death experience.

This meant that she has no experience of killing people.

As such, Theo decided to test her.

“Victoria. Kill him.” Said Theo

“Eh? Wha-”

Before Mr. Takeshi could complete his sentence, Juno threw an accurate punch to the jaw, dazing him in the process.

This was quickly followed by a flurry of punches to the face, gut and chest.

Mr. Takeshi used a boxers guard while falling back in a desperate attempt to escape Juno.

Juno went to the right and threw a painful body shot to the kidney, followed by a leg sweep.

With Mr Takeshi disoriented and on the ground, Juno stepped away from her target.

She grabbed a discarded bottle of beer and broke it on a nearby wall.

She then repeatedly stabbed Mr. Takeshi until he stopped twitching.

Surprisingly enough, not a single drop of blood landed on her clothing.

At this point, Theo realized that he has grossly underestimated Juno.

Based on what he saw, it was clear that Juno was very used to killing.

She probably has more experience at butchering people than he was.

“Good work.” Said Theo as he desperately hid the shiver that was crawling up his spine.

With a graceful bow and a beautiful smile, Juno took her place by Theo’s side once again as they made their way through the chaotic streets of Hellhole.

Their destination, Doctor frog face’s clinic.

The travel was relatively quick after Juno’s execution of Mr. Takeshi.

However, upon opening the doctor’s door…

“YOU DUMBASS!”

Theo caught a slipper that was hurled at him by the doctor.

“Hmm… based on the timing of your rage, the logical cause of it would be Mr. Takeshi’s death. Am I correct?” said Theo

“EXACTLY! If you’re so genre savvy then you should know what shit you stepped into this time right?!” roared the doctor.

“Hmm… If I can guess correctly, then I assume that Mr. Takeshi was a person of relatively high stature in a certain criminal organization. Probably a yakuza given his name. And since Zifang natives are all about brotherhood, loyalty and an outdate Samurai code, his death has earned me the ire of someone big. As such, he’s screaming for my blood. Am I right?”

“YES! GOD DAMN YOU YES! If you’re so smart then why the hell didn’t you figure out that you cant just kill people in Hellhole without repercussions!”

“Well, my main purpose in Hellhole is to kill scum, so such conflict was within acceptable parameters.”

The Doctor stared at Theo in disbelief for a couple of seconds before sighing in defeat.

“Right… I forgot… You’re here to feast on the blood of the damned. Making money and gaining fame is only secondary to you…. Sometimes I wonder who’s the truly evil one in this place.“ Said the Doctor. “Just to be clear, while I am your ally in most cases, I cant defend you against the enemy you just accidentally made.”

“Of course. Anyways, I need your help on finding something.” Said Theo as he showed the Doctor images of the Purple White Ginseng and the Khlyst

The doctor thought for a bit before an Aha! moment struck him.

“The Purple White Ginseng is easy. There are tons of illegal cultivator areas in Hellhole that grows the stuff. I suggest going for the Cloud Bridge Monastery. It’s one of the smaller monasteries with the least amount of disgustingly strong individuals. It’s also the one with the most rich spoiled brats from the Jade Empire. You could find some interesting stuff in there if you have the time to loot the place.”

“I see…. I’ll go with that one then. What about the Khlyst?”

“*sigh*, that one is where I wonder if you’re lucky or unlucky” said the Doctor with a wryly smile. “Oruga Katsuki is the leader of the Shigetsu Clan, a medium sized Yakuza clan here in Vermilion City. He is also the sworn brother of that guy you just killed. Oruga has a collection of weapon with some of them being magic items. I remember seeing a couple of those Khlyst in his rack.”

“I see. That is an interesting coincidence” said Theo with a smile on his masked face.

“Indeed it is. But like I said earlier, I cant help you on this one. The Shigetsu Clan is one of my regulars, so I cant exactly screw them over too much. That also means that I cant send Diego with you.” Said the doctor.

“It’s fine. If they come asking, just tell them that I’m after their Khlyst. I’m sure they’ll leave you alone after that.” Replied Theo as he turned for the exit.

“Will you be alright without backup?” asked the doctor.

“No need to worry. Just stay tuned and watch for the fireworks”
