Chapter 10: Deadly Arrogance

“Who are these two fools who dare take my favorite table in the house!”

Hearing such a loud and overbearing voice, Yu and Yaya turned their heads to see who it was.

Standing there was handsome youth who’s black hair was swept back, his eyes were sharp and arrogant, making it seem as if he’s looking down on everything. He wore a set of white grandeur robes that’s embedded with actual gold along the edges with a few sets of jewelry.

With a glance, one could tell that this youth was one of those arrogant young masters from those noble families!

Annoyingly arrogant… Yu thought as he saw the youth. Although Yu has already met Xiamen Ru and Meng Batien, he never considered them as arrogant! After all, they didn’t really cause much trouble for him.

But this youth, he was overflowing with arrogance! He didn’t even put Yu in his eyes! Although he showed a slight interest towards the beautiful Yaya, she was far too young for his tastes.

Behind him were a dozen or so experts dressed in black! They emitted a faint dangerous aura that made anyone shiver in fear! As Yaya was someone who was sensitive to ill intent, she deeply frowned upon seeing this group that overflowed with an evil aura.

“What? Are you deaf?! Leave my table!” The youth shouted, causing the surrounding customers to deeply hate him! As Yu and Yaya gave them a good impression, they felt extremely angry upon seeing this youth order them around with the tone of absolute arrogance! Sadly, they can’t do anything as they recognize this youth.

Meng Datien! The younger brother of the newly reformed Meng Batien! When comparing these two now, one can’t help but comment on how enormous the gap between the two’s character! It was as far apart as heaven and earth!

If looks could kill, well, let’s not mention how many times this youth would’ve already died with a single pair of eyes.

Although Yu was reluctant, he stood up.

“Yaya, let's switch tables.” Yu calmly said, picking Yaya up and carrying her in his arms. He was someone who didn’t want any trouble so moving tables wasn’t all that terrible. Asking the waiter to transfer their dish as well.

But before the waiter could move their dish, the youth stopped them.

“What do you think you’re doing? It’s my table! Hence the food is mine as well! Do you dare take my, Meng Datien’s, food?! You seek death!” Meng Datien shouted furiously! Although it was an act, anyone who heard those words would’ve believed that it was indeed his food. But no one was that stupid to believe such a thing!

“Sir…” The waiter glanced at Yu, his eyes filled with intense grief!

How much of an idiot can this arrogant bastard be! He’ll make our Heavenly Pavilion lose face! He screamed in his heart as he was at a loss, he felt that he can’t afford to offend either party!

Yaya on the other had felt like crying, she didn’t even get the chance to taste the delicious food her father bought for her! Not only that but the youth and the experts behind him emanated an evil aura towards them! Her eyes started to heavily moisten as she felt extremely sad! This scene caused the surroundings to become filled with an unending hatred for Meng Datien.

Yu, upon seeing Yaya’s eyes tear up, looked as serene as a calm lake, a calm lake that had the god of slaughter in its depths! He was furious! Absolutely furious! Although he swore that he would hide his abilities a few weeks ago, he never swore that he wouldn’t fight back!

Wiping her tears with his sleeves, he released 4/10ths of strength!

The floor was deadly silent, they all felt an extremely oppressive aura explode off of Yu! This caused the people around him to violently tremble!

What is this terrifying aura! They thought as a greenish blue mist started forming around Yu. Its ferocity increasing by the dozen with each breath as it grew into a flame like entity that surrounded him! Soon, the whole room became filled with an immensely powerful aura, completely drenching everyone in sweat!

Saint Stage expert! This idiot actually provoked a Saint Stage expert! Everyone thought, no longer feeling angry at the Meng Datien as they felt pity for him instead.

Meng Datien felt his knees grow extremely weak! As if the weight of a million mountains pressed down on his shoulders! The same could be said for the experts behind him, they didn’t dare speak out! They were just a group of Advance Stage experts! A group of ants compared to the titans who’ve reached the Saint Stage!

For the first time since following this young master of theirs, they deeply regretted doing so in their hearts! Although Meng Datien treated them well, even letting have their own fun at times, they can’t help but resent this idiot for what he did!

Sadly, this wasn’t enough to calm Yu’s anger! He wanted to kick them out the window! He wanted to throw them into the lake! But seeing them go quiet, he didn’t bother with them as they weren’t worth his time and effort, secretly deciding that he would no longer visit this Heavenly Pavilion in the future.

If they allowed these kinds of people into this restaurant, will we ever be able to enjoy our meals in peace? Yu thought as he still felt anger in his heart, although he’s already paid for the food, he didn’t feel like eating at all!

“You can have the table.” He said as his voice carried a ferocity that could send anyone trembling in fear! As Meng Datien was the one who was at the receiving end of this terrifying voice, he wanted to collapse on the spot! But as the oppressive aura was too intense, he could only stand in place as he felt an invisible force crush his spirit!

Caressing Yaya’s head which was still buried in his bosom, he left the floor with her in his arms, no longer in the mood to eat at this restaurant as he sealed his strength, walking out the door.

Seeing him leave so quick, the hostess felt that something was wrong. But seeing his annoyed expression, she didn’t dare stop him, fearing that it’d only make things worse.

As he left, every single person in the room let out a deep sigh of relief, firmly engraving the figure of Yu in their hearts as someone you should never offend! As for the Meng Datien and the experts behind him, they immediately fainted as a foul smelling liquid secreted on the floor they lay in, causing everyone to lose their appetites.

The waiter from before was somewhat relieved as he felt that the Heavenly Pavilion averted a crisis! Although he believed that Yu would never visit the restaurant again, at least the restaurant was still standing! With his Saint Stage level strength, leveling the building to the ground is child’s play!

An event like this will without a doubt spread like wildfire in the city! After all, since Meng Batien’s change of heart, the only remaining arrogant young master that still dared to act as he pleases, was Meng Datien!

Thinking of this event made one wonder, Is the Meng Clan cursed or blessed? After all, two of its most arrogant young masters had been subdued by a Saint Stage expert! This level of coincidence is too much! And from the way things were and how they described the expert’s looks, it was without a doubt the same person!

As to where this Demigod expert is, he was currently searching for a more humble place to have dinner.

Although the two were disappointed that they couldn’t enjoy their meal at the time, that didn’t stop their mood at all! The two found a much cheaper place called The Grizzly Restaurant, and although the meals weren’t as grand and the atmosphere wasn’t calm and refined, they felt that it was far more enjoyable than the Heavenly Pavilion.

The atmosphere of this restaurant was warm and lively, some were laughing along with their friends as they enjoyed a meal, some families were eating a meal together to celebrate and there were even a few lovers here and there.

The appearance of Yu and Yaya attracted a few looks, but it was a warm gaze, causing Yaya to smile wonderfully! She enjoyed this kind of atmosphere where there was joy and laughter in the air, and with her wonderful smile, the atmosphere became livelier!

Yu who also enjoyed this kind of atmosphere sat Yaya down on a nearby table as he took the spot beside her. A neighboring family who sat beside their table gave them a warm greeting.

“I haven’t seen you two before, new to the City?” An uncle in his 40s spoke, his body that exploded with energy was well built, his short brown hair was kept and his eyes gave out a sense of gentleness.

“Kinda, I came here a few weeks ago but I had to leave for a mission. As for Yaya, it’s her first time coming here.” Yu politely answered.

“Un! Papa brought me along! Although there were a few bad people, everyone’s been very nice so far!” Yaya exclaimed as she briefly described her experience.

“Hohoho, such an adorable daughter! You’re a lucky man!” The uncle said as he slapped Yu’s shoulder, causing him to be embarrassed.

“Haha, indeed, she’s quite the joy to take care of.” Yu said as he gave a warm and gentle smile.

“Hehe little brother’s wife must be quite the beauty!” A woman in her 40s who sat next to the uncle said. Her hair had a chestnut color and her figure gave an overall feeling of calmness as she wore a slight smile on her face.

“Truly so! And to think that she’s an elf, what sort of luck does little brother have?! You’ve got to teach uncle your tech- Aaah!” The uncle said as he suddenly let out a scream.

“Dear, are you perhaps trying to imply something in front of little Qing?” The woman from before said as she gave him the sweetest smile in the world, yet her eyes seemed as if they could kill a divine dragon with a glance!

“D-d-definitely not!” The man embarrassedly said, scratching the back of his head and laughing heartily as he did.

Such a scene caused a burst of laughter from everyone watching, including Yu and Yaya. The group merrily conversed more, even ordering a few dishes the uncle recommended.

As it turns out, the name of the Uncle is Zhou Tian, as for the woman beside him, it was Zhou Balei. They were a family that was celebrating the return of their beloved son, Zhou Qing. A young energetic youth who retained his father’s good figure and his mother’s calm temperament

It turns out that he turned 21 this year and that he’s just returned from the Divine Continent Central Academy. Hearing this academy again, Yu praised Uncle Zhou and Zhou Qing. Although Uncle Zhou felt a bit shy, he still laughed in joy, even Zhou Qing became embarrassed, waving his hand back in forth as he told Yu that it wasn’t much.

As the dishes came, Yu and Yaya became excited! The dishes they ordered were the Magic Mushroom Soup along with the Black Armored Bear Steak Chunks.

Although the Magic Mushroom Soup didn’t have the mystical properties the Lake Spirit Soup had, as it had a clean and consistent color of white to it, nor did the Black Armored Bear Steak Chunks have the imposing yet beautiful nature of the Flood Dragon Steak as it wasn’t too dressed in herbs, the dishes had a certain liveliness to it, making it even more appetizing than the previous high ranked dishes.

For these two dishes, Yu only spent 12 gold which he felt was incomparably cheap compared to the 700 gold he just spent an hour or two ago!

Seeing the two’s expression of joy, the waiter that served their meals gave them a wide smile as he left.

Yu and Yaya grabbed their utensils, first having a taste at the steak. It was easy to chew and its wonderful taste spread out in their mouths as they ate. Yaya couldn’t help but hold her cheek with one hand as she gave out a joyful smile. Though she, who still couldn’t properly use spoons or forks, had sauce all over her face.

Wiping her face clean, Yu enjoyed the meal as well. After all, this wasn’t a flavor he could enjoy back in the previous world!

The Zhou family next to them can’t help but smile as they saw Yu and Yaya’s satisfied reactions.

The two families got along well as they happily ate, connecting their tables as they shared their dishes with one another.

In the end, the two families grew closer as Zhou Qing started calling Yu as his elder brother and Yaya as his younger sister. The two families went their ways after a farewell, still waving their hands as they separated.

Yu and Yaya headed for the Southern Sky Inn to go to sleep. As it was not too far, the two reached the inn early.

“Oh? Who’s this adorable young lady?” The lady from before greeted them.

“Yaya! Hello elder sister!” She greeted with a smile, making the lady quite pleased.

“So cute! Did elder brother bring you along?” The lady asked.

“Elder brother? You mean papa?” Yaya replied in confusion.

“Oh my! So you were married?” The lady asked.

“Yes…” Yu said as he coughed lightly.

“You didn’t come back even though you still had a few days left, did something happen?” The lady asked.

“Yeah, I went on a mission that day so I had to leave for a few weeks.” Yu replied.

“I see, why is your daughter along with you? Don’t tell me she went with you on the mission?!” The lady exclaimed.

“N-no… I picked her up from her mother along the way.” Yu explained.

“So they live in the forest, she’s an elf after all I guess.” The lady gave a nod of understanding.

“Anyways, I’d like a room that’s similar from the one before if possible.” Yu said as he gave a gold coin.

“Three nights again?” The lady asked.

“Yes.” Yu replied with a nod.

After that, the two were led to a room on the third floor, giving their thanks as the lady went downstairs.

As it was already pretty late, Yu and Yaya got ready to go to sleep.
