“Avrin, lets start with what you are” In an instant the table vanished and god was in front of a white board with what seemed like a humanoid drawing with half of having its organs and such revealed. God had a pointing stick as he pointed to it.
“You are a Spectral, this refers to a phantom, ghost, shadowy, incorporeal, but I picked it based on two things. One is it also means otherworldly, which I think suited you well, and the other being a secret you will find out on your own.
Being what you are, I made it so your body can stay up at much longer durations than a normal creature on Seleria would be used to, but when you do need to rest it is the minimum 8 hours required. “
Avrin listened intently. The reason was because there was no other being in existence that could tell him what God was telling him now. He would never find or discover this information unless he found out himself. God continued on.
“This body of yours also works hand in hand with dark matter. It doesn't produce mana and uses dark matter instead. In a video game that is black and white, imagine having that one character that is 3d and coloured inside of it.
That is what you are like in this universe.”
Avrin spoke out, this somewhat confused him. He didn't see this as some important piece of information, more like unusual and random facts. But he figured every bit counted.
“As a Spectral you're capable of racial abilities and traits. I will give you a clue for one of each. One of your racial abilities allows you to do more with your eyes other than augmenting them. And a trait allows your body to be somewhat sentient to a degree”
Avrin was somewhat surprised. His eyes had more than one use other than augmentation. He would surely want to discover what it was and if it was something useful and if it was even suitable for dark matter. And the trait God spoke of was something Avrin longed to know personally.
He was somewhat right. His body seemed to remove any unimportant urges from how he felt if he didn't think of it. For instance, if he didn't want to feel pain then most likely his body would not allow the pain receptors to transmit.
If he didn't want to feel sexual urges then his body wouldn't waste the effort or energy in letting him feel aroused or stimulated unless he wanted to.
If he emotionally was confused or was pondering something then it would have a change in the way he was. No wonder he felt like he lacked emotions. It was because his body was trying to adapt itself to make him a better creature.

This certainly had positives and negatives. He would have to be careful and learn to harness it better.
“Moving on” God spoke as that was all he would tell Avrin. The picture on the whiteboard changed in an instant showing several different looking planets that seemed to be alive and perfectly made on the whiteboard as if they were holographic.
“What individuals call gods here are merely beings who have reached an immense state of personal power.
Creatures who have different body structures that allowed them to be as strong as they are, or they can even be born that way. As I showed you before. But I’ll tell you now they are not gods. A God is an individual who knows all, sees all, is everywhere, can do anything quicker than an instant, and is beyond infinite. Other than me there is nothing like that.
But the benefit of the doubt has been given and they can be called gods in their own respect. You want to become like one but you currently lack what they have. That is power. Obviously you know this and I shouldn't be telling you this.”
Avrin thought to himself carefully “If they are that strong and I'm only a mortal, you surely have a point to this...I’m guessing it is how I am going to reach that point of power. I dont even know when I will die or how long I'll live.”
God’s featureless face formed a mouth that smiled which was somewhat creepy “Very good. I didn't expect you to pick up on that. So I’ll reward you with a final gift Avrin. Your cells are different, they never die for as long as they are inside you. With your body and dark matter you are capable of living for as long as you like. When you discover how to do so on your own.”
Bingo! This was the most valuable piece of information he had so far. Even more so than that mythological tome. Avrin had been on seleria and had occasionally worried about time, but passed it away as something that should be forgotten. He would try to be a god but would do so without rush.
Destiny would take him as far as he went on his own. But this was a game changer. If he discovered how to do so, he would have his first godly quality. And that was immortality.
Avrin smiled and bowed “Thank you…I'm not good with thanks and it isn't like me but when I am in your presence I am never sure how to act. Afterall, you are the creator and I am constantly trembling or having my mind change”
God seemed to chuckle “It isn't like you to thank me Avrin.
I’ll tell you that since you were unsure. I do not need your thanks, I am merely doing this for the sake of satisfying my non omnipotent state”That was quite a straightforward and cruel way of telling him he was just a guinea pig. But Avrin nodded without argument. “Oh yes, how is it...I get back to my body?”
God grinned and stayed quiet for a second “Oooh you're going to like what has happened to you Avrin. And to get back to your body? Just like this” With a click of his finger’s everything vanished into darkness and Avrin was back in his body that seemed to feel a little tight for some reason. Maybe because he felt he was free when around god but now put in something that confines his soul.
Avrin slowly opened his eyes and saw it was nearly pitch black. He noticed numbers on the ceiling in a glowing pattern and noticed it was a mana clock that was conveniently put into the ceiling so one would only need to open their eyes to see the time.

He leaned up and looked out the window to see it was nightfall. He must have slept for a few hours. He looked around and saw it was quiet apart from the occasional chatter outside his room and around the mansion that he heard using his ears.
He made his way to an open space in the room and raised his hands to which he began to create a void bolt. He began to adjust the size at a rapid pace as if to constantly get used to controlling it. He then tried to engulf his hand in the energy that was identical to the void bolt, as if a dark matter glove coating. It was different to how the augmentation worked. If the augmentation was more physical this was an aura.
As he channeled it over his hand it began to calm down and sway as if a dark purple fire was resting upon it.
Curious to know what it does, he went towards the desk and reached over to pick up an orb that was sitting there. To his surprise, his hand had rapidly devoured and disintegrated the part of the orb he touched as if it was a high pressure torch that was alive had eaten away at it. As the rest of the orb collapsed over his hand it to was eaten away.
“An aura that devours anything it touches.. A skill I should've learnt awhile ago. I feel as if I'm neglecting this ability. I will have to ask Shimaru to show me an open area to train by myself when I go to accept” He spoke as he confirmed that he was going to accept Shimaru’s offer.
Avrin dissipated the aura and sat down at the desk. He began to tap into the knowledge of the books he had devoured and it seemed like things had turned out well. The knowledge that was jumbled up due to devouring the books at a quick rate and too many at once was still lost but everything else was there as if it were perfectly in his memory.
Avrin began to emit a nebula mist in the form of several books he devoured and it didn't take long due to him being synced with them for quite awhile now. His body having had time to do so.As the books formed with several coloured covers as well as titles he read a few chapters at the beginning the middle and the end to make sure. He then tried to make more copies of the books and it seemed like the knowledge in his mind was there for good.
He was now able to make more copies of whichever book he absorbed. This would be useful later on.
After devouring the books into dark matter without caring for the loss due to the knowledge being already permanent, he grinned to himself and began to form something else.
This object had the shape of a larger solid object. The shape of a tome. It was instead the mythological object. Even though it had sunk into his head he could not decipher what it meant. But the good thing was it took less time to recreate it.
As he did, 10 minutes passed and it was in front of him. Of course, he was frowning while gazing at it. “I guess it was too much to be expected that it didn't translate” Avrin sighed he figured as much. He came to the conclusion that it would only translate it as long as he understood the language of the time to begin with.
At that moment, a knock echoed and Avrin blinked before confirming to himself the knowledge of the tome’s structure was in his mind he willed his dark matter to devour the tome without worry of the knowledge. He then spoke.
“Come in..” As the door opened two servants entered and one spoke “Honored guest, dinner is re..” Avrin turned around while she was speaking and she had only stopped because she gazed at Avrin. Not only her but the other female servant’s jaws somewhat dropped as they had stunned expressions.
They were the first since the sylphs to see Avrin’’s appearance. Several things came into their mind such as handsome, unmatched, godly.
Avrin blinked to himself and noticed where they were looking. He remembered his appearance and blinked before chuckling to himself. It was sooner or later that he would have to reveal it so better now than never. “I hope you both have enjoyed the show“ He winked teasingly towards them as if to try and win favor.
To which both female servants giggled silently and one cleared her throat “Ehm...H..Honored guest” She spoke with a stutter before continuing “The Elder has invited you to dine with the main family in the dining hall. Will you attend?”
Avrin thought it was a good opportunity to speak with Shimaru as well as meet the rest of the main family before something unexpected happened. “I will indeed attend.”
From there one maid exited and reentered the room with folded clothing to which she left on the bed. The other then left most likely to report to Shimaru. The maid/servant that remained smiled “If you were to accept, the Elder tasked me to provide you with a set of social clothing since he considered you wouldn't have a spare change of clothing I hope it will fit.”
Avrin went over and looked over it as he unfolded it and gazed. It didn't seem like anything bad. It was a hakama with a nature like design on it. Somewhat similar to Ayame’s kimono, but more masculine .“It’s fine. I'll get dressed right away and be there soon.” The maid nodded and then left after closing the door silently.
Meanwhile at the dining hall. Ayame, Amias, Shimaru, Izanami, Calias, and an older looking female who seemed identical to Ayame, Amias, and Izanami, most likely there mother, was seated next to Calias.Shimaru spoke to the maid that was recently with Avrin “Ho ho ho! Very good I look forward to seeing the honored guest.“ It seemed he had taken a real liking to Avrin. “Grandfather, Avrin is joining us?!“ Amias happily spoke to which Shimaru smiled and nodded.
“He didn't hesitate to help us when those bandits showed up even though I was going to take care of them by myself. It is the thought that counts. It is rare for people to be heroic when faced with many opponents”Ayame grunted quietly “Pfft any adventurer would have done the same thing with the same results” Amias huffed to himself “Sister you should've seen it. Though he handled them all at once with his enigmatic magi-.”
At that point once again Shimaru tapped his head softly with a cane “Amias that was a secret!” Shimaru said with a somewhat annoyed but funny look to which Calias’ elbows were on the table and his fingers crossed.
“Ahh I see. So this is why grandfather is interested. Our honored guest is an enigmatic level user. Truly interesting, I can't recall I have ever met one. I would like to know what sort of ability he wields” The unknown female spoke with a somewhat funny laugh. “Ha ha ha!.
Dear, it would be rude to ask so blatantly. He is Elder’s honored guest after all. You mustn't be so intrusive.” The female spoke.
Calias then sighed and smiled to her “Misaki you are always ruining my fun moments. You never seem to give me any freedom of my own“ He spoke as if to be playful with her.
Izanami was grinning at Ayame as the two conversed “Sister, would you please pass me the salt..” Ayame glared and bared her teeth “Go jump into the darkest depths of the ocean and have all the salt in the sea you perverted tramp”
Sparks seemed to clash between the two as they were indeed rivals even though Izanami was older by 2 years. Ayame herself was 18 while Izanami was 20.
At that moment while everyone conversed and the meal was being served. A maid came and bowed in front to which they all went silent she then spoke “The honored guest has arrived…”
The large door towards the dining hall was opened from the outside by two guards with an individual clad in a hakama with long silvery hair flowing down his back. His eyes a light blue with a patterned pupil that was a line with a cross near the top similar to a “T” and one at the bottom.
The chest area of the hakama was open slightly revealing a well trained chest area. The beings skin was nearly pale but it was as if it was more flawless than snow. This being also wore a satisfied prideful smile as he began to make his way into the dining hall also wearing what seemed like sandals with specially made socks.

Alternate titles: - Five, Twenty-Three, Twenty-Nine Years - 5, 23, 29 "Dad? I think I got a really bad fever, why do I still feel fine?" "It feels cold..." Five years ago, Owen became a Court Wizard in search of his father who was lost to the unknown three years prior. But that wasn't the beginning of the story. Maybe it began twenty-three years ago when Ronald Bell and Joshua Ruze saved the Illyer family. Or perhaps, it all started twenty-nine years ago, when Ronald, the son of the wealthiest merchant, became a Court Wizard. Well, it doesn't matter anymore, for the story five, twenty-three, and twenty-nine years ago shall now meet its end. 2nd book written in the Wizards of the Otherworldly series. Read Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia first. This story is split into two 'Collections,' Ronald's Collection and Owen's Collection, each centering around those Court Wizards. Crossposted with WordPress site, Wattpad, Sufficient Velocity, and Rainobu. Wizards of the Otherworldly Court is a fantasy story about the Otherworldly Court, an inter-dimensional (or world-hopping, you get the idea) organization made up of people of all ages, gender, and race from many parallel or different worlds. They are granted elemental-like magic powers and called themselves 'Court Wizards'. They are tasked to watch over the many worlds they come across and step into these worlds on 'missions' to preserve the balance, life, order, anything to make said worlds better places in the shadows but may reveal themselves if necessary. However, these missions may partially or even fully oppose their nature, personal interests, and ideals. Yet, most of the Court Wizards are aware and willing to complete even the worst missions that would shatter their true selves that they will never cast aside regardless, either growing or regressing because of it. Basically, it's isekai to multiple worlds but each book after Wizards of the Otherworldly Court: Alicia focuses primarily on one world while also discussing its lore in detail. Book Alicia is the introduction containing the essential worldbuilding of the Otherworldly Court universe you need to know while shoving in as many characters and worlds as I can. Also, each book will have a different main character, sometimes more than one in a single book, like Jojo.
