Avrin began walking down the path after having helped the man and the child. He had been thinking to himself prior to the old man telling him to stop. Avrin had managed to injure what could be said as human beings, half the reason for helping the two could be said as a further test for himself to see if he could injure people to a painful like degree. After what he did to the book keeper he wanted to try it again to see if he would get any emotional response. It seems he didn't. He wasn't sure if he simply was devoid of good feelings, not only was his body never urging for sexual interaction but it seemed in his mind he either lacked or did not have many base emotions.
Although Avrin's mindset was that of a human, which could be said as the most emotional creatures, this body was truly impressive and terrifying for it to somehow tamper with Avrin’s emotions. Could it be this body or is it truly the work of God. Avrin, of course, did not want to completely lack emotion, although he had bad memories regarding emotion’s such as sadness and anger he knew it also helped him become stronger such as motivation and happiness.
Afterall, who would want to live their life as a robot made of flesh and bone with no emotional attachments. He would definitely have to socialise more even if he found it somewhat annoying. It was for the purpose of his advancement to Godhood.
Avrin blinked as he snapped out of his pondering trance at the sound of a voice that did not belong to the child. As he turned he noticed the old man was 2 meters behind him. Avrin kept quiet as he wondered what he wanted. Could it be a reward? He thought curiously to himself until the man then spoke.
“Traveller you are indeed strong...I can see you have quite a rich vein of untapped power…” The old man snickered to himself but not in a way that was creepy so to speak, but more so interesting. Avrin replied “You seem to have a keen sense. That or you talk good as to achieve something” Avrin spoke which would somewhat translate to you either have a good eye or you are sucking up to me sort of manner. The man then chuckled quietly before nodding to Avrin even as the child hid behind him while gazing at Avrin with awe. “Dear traveller, would it be of much trouble for you to escort me and my grandson to our home in the western region? It seems like the direction you are heading.” “Indeed it is” Avrin spoke right after the old man finished then continued to speak. “I suppose it wouldn't be impossible for me to do so. Well then, very well. Do you have supplies with you?” The man nodded and pointed to a tree which had a bag laying underneath that seemed very well made from what seemed like expensive materials. It had a blue covering as well as what seemed like an orange furred lining and a black base.

Avrin figured that if they carried something that looked expensive its no wonder the bandits would want to rob them even more so. as the child went over to retrieve the supplies the man smiled at avrin as he walked a half meter behind him “what is your name adventurer?” it seemed like traveller was now adventurer. possibly a meaningless change as they both were the same thing so to speak.
“Avrin.” He spoke as the boy returned and the three of them began to travel down the western pass. It was still quite early in the morning, the thought came across his mind as to where these two are from. “Avrin, quite a unique name. I am Shimaru and this here is my grandson” The child then spoke out with a burst of energy “My name is Amias, heir to the Whi-..” Before he finished the grandfather had given him a light hit on the hit not as to hurt the child but as to tell him to stop talking.
“I do apologise, my grandson can be quite chatty ho ho ho!” He gave a deep somewhat forced laugh as the grandson rubbed his head quietly pouting. Avrin figured the boy was indeed important. It didn't take a genius to hear the words heir and not come to a conclusion of importance.
“Sir Avrin, where are you headed? Where are you from?” Shimaru asked Avrin curiously “I intend to enter the western mountain range to train for a while. As for where I am from.” Avrin tapped into his current knowledge and spoke as he came with an idea “The western continent” Shimaru let out a oooh sort of sound before smiling “Ahh that explains it, you're a demon. No wonder you are so powerful. Indeed your race is quite interesting”
Although Avrin wasn't a demon he wondered why this human didn’t somewhat persecute him. In the village, he didn't see any demons and was curious as to why this man was at ease. Unless the reason was because Avrin saved his life.
“Sir Avrin is indeed strong. Those bandits didn't stand a chance against those black orbs of doom“ The child made a gesture as if fiddling with the air trying to recreate the scene. It was somewhat cute but Avrin shrugged the thought aside.
he had his own questions and decided to speak before Shimaru did. At this point they had been walking for several hours and Avrin was surprised at their stamina “So Shimaru, hat is it you and Amias were doing. Weren’t your intentions to go to the village?”
Shimaru shook his head “Not at all. We often adventure away from our home. I do it more for my grandsons sake, he doesn't often get to go outside due to my son’s strictness” He spoke as he patted Amia's head.
Avrin smiled softly to himself. The bond between family was truly something to behold. He wondered what it would have been like if he had a father figure growing up. “Sir Avrin, you're an adventurer right?” Amias spoke out, as the two men were quiet, he had a chance to ask. “I suppose I am” Avrin spoke before stopping and gazing around. It wasn't to long that they had entered a forest as the path followed inside but something in the air seemed strange.
it seems Shimaru had already acted without Avrin needing to tell him as he grabbed amias who wondered why they had stopped and held tightly as if to defend him.
“Both of you stay near me..” Avrin spoke. He didn't know why he was inclined to protect them both, it wasn't as if he would benefit from it. But he realised it was his humanity coming into play. It seemed on the inside he lacked emotion, but it wasn't true. He still had some left.

From the surrounding bushes and dense forest, everything around them became quiet. Avrin augmented an eye and looked around. “Figures…” Avrin spoke in an annoyed tone. “18 of them, all humans”
Shimaru gazed at Avrin, somewhat surprised. He didn’t expect him to even know how many individuals there were. That was usually a skill only grand master’s and higher were capable of knowing without using a magic to identify them, and even then such magic required casting time. Little did he know Avrin had a way around it.
Avrin, personally, was nervous and excited. It would be his first proper battle with humanoid individuals. The last encounter he considered a test and he didn't bother counting in the mindless animals. This was a battle with thinking individuals.
At that moment they all came rushing out. Avrin removed his eye augmentation and created a void blade out of what seemed like thin air. This caused the men to stop for a moment and readjust there tactic. “H...Hey, did he just create a weapon?...Isn't that something only experts know how to do?.. “ Another spoke out “Shit...It doesn't matter. Get them before they get us!” One called out as if rallying the others and they continued their failed ambush.
“Idiots…” Avrin spoke. “When you ambush someone don't stop half way.” As the first man approached and swung his sword towards Avrin, who purposely let him get close as if to test his reflexes, Avrin sidestepped and twisted his body before slashing towards the man's abdomen with the void blade which cleanly disintegrated the ragged leather clothing as it had the signature black ash eating it away. But what was more devastating was the painful gash that was across his stomach. His innards felt as if they were going to explode as the man cried out in agony. Avrin then slashed down across the mans neck with the void blade as if to end his misery.
As the head came off somewhat cleanly and the body fell limp with blood oozing, Shimaru, who quietly watched, covered his grandsons eyes. This was a different scene than what had occurred earlier.
Avrin on the other hand had forgotten the two. It seems his own life came first and he somewhat drifted from the two who stood still. As another man thrusted a large pike towards Avrin, Avrin grabbed the tip with a quickly augmented hand and snapped it off before throwing the now sharp object towards the man who had his head impaled by the tip of the pike. He fell limp as his corpse twisted a bit before falling down. Avrin was surprised his head didn't explode.
“I feel so bad at this…” Avrin sighed quietly, knowing his own movements lacked any expertise. But it was enough to deal with them. The bandits stopped for a moment and surrounded Avrin and one spoke out “We’ll get him together...This bastard will get him and hang his innards from the trees” One bald man spoke. He looked as if he were a skeleton.
Avrin smirked to himself before the void blade reformed into a sphere that was 5x5 inches in diameter “Your welcome to try..” Avrin also trained some martial arts in his past life and wanted to see how well it would fair in some circumstances. But he knew it wasn't the right time because one wrong move and he would die.
Without warning the bandits looked at each other and rushed in towards Avrin. 3 meters away in all directions was the distance. Avrin looked around before raising the sphere above his head and willed it to implode. Of course Avrin was not as skilled as to turn it into an attack but what came out was a nebula mist that began to spread. Avrin used this chance to augment his leg’s as the bandits gazed at the mist with worry.
“I..Is it a poison cloud?..” One spoke out nervously “Shit...Should we retreat?..” ”Get your bows out you idiots! Get the two over there, we’ll use them as hostages…” One which seemed like the leader spoke.
At that moment as a few began to go towards Shimaru and Amias and a few more began to take their bows out. Avrin dashed out of the mist towards one bandit and plowed his fist into the side of his head. A gruesome crunching sound could be heard before the bandit flew several meters and hit a tree. Avrin was surprised as his hand wasn't even augmented but grinned as he was satisfied with his speed.
Avrin looked at the bandits who stopped for a second before they quickly tried to load their bows. “Oh no you don't..” Avrin, forgetting about the ones heading towards the two individuals who traveled with him, went on to attack the bandits. Using the strength of the body and the speed of the augment to decimate his foes.
The bandits which closed in on Shimaru then grinned “Come here ya bastard….Give us that child would you” Shimaru smirked and raised his cane, pointing it towards the man. “Sir I think your arm is missing…”
“huh?.” The bandit stopped and gazed to see his arms were still intact “What are yo-..” At that moment Shimaru appeared in front of him as he moved the cane up under his arm as it effortlessly sliced through his right arm as if he weren't even trying. The other bandit gazed in horror and tried to attack Shimaru but was met with his own demise.
The back of a bandit’s body had a dagger that resembled a kunai jammed into it. He turned weakly as he tried to reach and take it out. Shimaru gazed at Amias who smiled nervously and spoke “O..Oh he didn't die…” The bandit showed a dangerous expression. “You little shi..” just like his friend before he finished he had lost a body part. although this time it was his head.
“Amias I've told you many times to not interfere in your grandfathers affairs..” Amias pouted quietly “Sorry grandfather” Shimaru then went over and removed the kunai from the mans back before wiping it clean and gazing at Avrin who seemed to be to focused on killing the others instead of paying them attention.
Shimaru thought to himself “-Hmmm... He is indeed interesting. I can't recall ever seeing the magic he has used before, even if he is a demon. His footwork is beyond crap and his attacks seemed to be on instinct without precision. Interesting, I’m sure he would make a fine Shinobi if trained properly-”
Avrin had been attacking the bandits as a few more even came out of the bushes. Although he was fast his movements were still somewhat predictable. A few bandits managed to land some hits on him as well as an arrow jammed in his back, although to Avrin who had a body with the potential to rival gods it was already at work with healing the wounds.
Avrin finished up the final bandits as he panted not from exhaustion but from some pain and irritation. “I..really need to train myself… The sooner I get to the mountains the better. I wonder if there are more bandits around”..
around avrin as well as the area were corpses with blood oozing all over the ground as well as the stench of death and there innards spilling out. Sooner or later wild beasts will want to come feast on this laid out buffet.
Avrin reached over and grabbed the arrow, pulling it out with a slightly painful tug. But he was somewhat surprised when he noticed that the dark matter in his body was eating away at it and converting it to seal his wound. infact when avrin pulled the arrow out like that it had re-opened the wound just as if one would tear open stitches.
avrin blinked as he remembered something. “Are you both ok?!” He quickly turned to see two corpses near the two. Although Avrin couldnt remember killing anyone near them. Avrin gazed to see Shimaru in his calm mannered pose with his cane while Amias was in a sort of cheering pose. Avrin raised a brow as his cloak was covered in blood as well as his face. He was gazing at Shimaru. “He is hiding something from me….”

Modern Magic
A Modern Magician BookI looked up at the crooked holo sign while the perfectly bred woman read from a paper, a plastic smile glued to her face.'Welcome to The City,' she said in a fake voice. 'Once formerly known as New York, The City is a place filled with ancient and modern wonders. Remember, if you see any magicians please report to the nearest police station or Black Hand officer.'I smiled at the sign and then raised a single finger. No, not the middle one. A blue misty light spun from my finger and into the holo device. The message quickly changed from the fake woman to one of my own.'Welcome to The City,' the woman read, her hair now dyed a fuchsia. Her eyelids were a dark blue and her bottom lip and right eyebrow were pierced. 'A special message from Hecate, queen of magic.' The woman looked up at me, a smirk playing on her lips. 'Welcome to my city.'
