《The Daily Diary of a Mushroom》~Update~
Advertisement
First off the poll is just for me to see which characters are popular and stuff. It's purely my own interest, I know it's only been 11 chapters so you might not have much of an opinion on the characters, but I'm just curious. Besides it might help me to know which characters might need a bit more presence or personality.
Anyway on to the update type thing.
I will not be releasing a chapter this week, I'm mainly writing this little update in case anyone is interested in why there isn't one. I know The Daily Diary isn't exactly a big fiction or a incredibly popular one, but I'm writing this just in case there are a few people interested.
I have written some of the chapter, however I have a major project for College due in for Wednesday this week, so I have been mostly concentrating on that. It's the main reason so many of my chapters come out later than I want then too, to be honest I started writing this story at a inopportune time for me. XD I wasn't really expecting to get a single follower when I started, so I was just going to update it whenever I happened to finish a chapter, but even having 10 followers made me want to release regularly.
Anyway, since the Project will be over Wednesday, that will give me more time to write, so I should be able to keep to my weekly release schedule.
Finally to make up for it a little, I thought I would do a little sort of Q&A. I'm not really expecting many people to have any questions, but if you do happen to have one then feel free to ask. :)
Thanks for reading The Daily Diary of a Mushroom!
Putting the questions and my answers under this line:
Haven
wish it was multiple choice poll but, Rugtug ftw.
Here are a couple questions though (if you did explain some of them before, sorry that was my fault and i dont remember them ) ;
How many human countries and cultures out there ? Is it all generic rpg types or you put some close to-real world type of cultures ?
Magic, Ellana is going classic buff magic with chants, but is there any different types ? Like glyphs or runes for dwarfs, innate magics of dragons, sorcerers who meddle with outside planes, simple druidic rituals and moon worship stuff etc.
Since there are shitloads of gods out there watching and giggling like small girls, should I expect some divine blessing stuff ?

I haven't answered any of these questions previously, so I'll do my best now.
First off for the Human kingdoms, there are nine on the Central Continent and two on the Monster Continent. Although the Hevenpar Empire has territory on the Monster Continent. Other than that on the Central Continent there are the Dwarven Cities, the Great Rurrian Forest and the Lakes Elves hidden Lake City.
As for their cultures, I'm afraid they're all basically just high fantasy, I want to put more detail and original features in some of them, but I haven't got around to putting in details for a lot of them. The original story I was going to upload on this site called God's Isles which was inspired by my love of Game Of Thrones and LOTR had more detailed cultures and kingdoms, including many inspired by real world kingdoms. I ended up writing the Daily Diary instead as God's Isles seemed to difficult for someone of my level.
Here is a brief list of the Kingdoms:
Central Continent.
The Great Hevenpar Empire (Sort of typical fantasy Empire, very aggressive and arrogant Emperor, but smart)
The Kingdom of Lummen (A kingdom that has a love of the night, they have a strange ore that was found deep under their land in mines that has a luminescent quality to it)
The Kingdom of Ollena (Sort of French inspired, bit like Orlais from Inquisition)
The Kingdom of Ashes (Have talked about this in more detail, very open and progressive kingdom)
The Kingdom of Furren Island (Was split in to Northern and Southern territories from two princes who had claim to the throne, has only recently been made back in to one kingdom, still a lot of tension, doesn't have much interaction with other kingdoms)
The Kingdom of Uthik (Brutal, sort of Nomadic culture, but in a stable kingdom, dunno how to explain it really)
The Great Kingdom of the Holy Church (Formed after the Church repaired a damaged kingdom after a famine, led by a pope, very peaceful with all races but Monsters and Demons)
The Cracked Kingdom (Formed from the same Kingdom as the Holy Church was, still poverty stricken and dying, it's members stay loyal to the King barely holding it together. Is receiving supplies and aid from the Church)
The Crescent Kingdom (The second most powerful Human kingdom, the Kingdom I've thought about the least, strangely peaceful despite their power)
Monster Continent.
The Kingdom of Mages (A kingdom which managed to survive on the Monster Continent by having only wise and powerful mages in power. All Mages from any race or Kingdom are allowed, however it is only Humans that have very high positions. It has worked for them so far, but with a smaller army than most, they have been losing a bit of territory from the Monsters.)

Ironwall Kingdom (A small Human Kingdom with one giant walled City, they increased their territory very slowly and make sure to finish an entire walled town or village before gaining more territory.)
For Magic:
First of there are Magic schools for each element, then Light and Dark. There are other ancient magics not many know about.
Each Element behaves the way you would think, Earth is defence and buffing, Water is healing, Fire is aggressive, Wind has things like flying etc etc. There are other kinds of Magic though, for instance nature magic, which can only be learned by scholars of nature with calm hearts or Monsters of the Nature Attribute. There are things like Glyphs and runes, for instance Ellephwen made a sort of barrier around her house that will be talked about later on, which has a sort of Glyph type thing keeping it active.
I have thought some about magic, but it hasn't been my most major focus, there are some other magics, but I haven't really thought about it enough to write it down, sorry.
Finally about the Gods and Divine blessing. Unique skills could be called Divine blessings since they're often given by Gods at birth, or sometimes for completing great tasks that pleased the God watching. However Divine Blessings are something I've considered, I haven't entirely mapped out every detail of the story yet, so they may make an appearance.

its not really a question related to this fiction but to your other one..
Will the star wars ff see more updates or it was just a random side project?
A: I'm surprised to see someone interested in it. Thanks. Very Happy
Whilst it is a side project, after I've finished my current college project there will be updates. I really do want to do more with it, but since my knowledge of Star Wars lore isn't huge, just a bit better than the average viewer, the updates will be relatively slow and the chapters will probably be shorter than The Daily Diary. The upside is I think it will be better written due to it having no release schedule in my mind giving me more time to proof read.
Yaka
Will the MC have any long term relationships besides the ones she already has. Will she ever have a mate/husband/partner? What does she want with her life long term? Will you be doing another arc with dungeon exploration? (you have done this part really well and would really enjoy seeing more of your writing in this area) I don't know if you play on including humor in this story but please try if you can think up some witty comments thanks a bunch for writing this story, while it is only a few chapters, you have enough detail in them to make a good story and a great pace to keep it interesting but not feel rushed. Soon you might have enough content to join that phantasmal architects group if you want more detailed feedback but its up to you looking forward to the coming chapters!!!
A:
Yes she will definitely have more long term relationships, I have quite a few more character to introduce as this story goes on. Since I'm a sucker for romance there will definitely be at least a few love interests and definitely a relationship at some point, I have a few of said interests planned out, but have not decided on a final partner yet. In terms of her long term, she hasn't really decided yet, for now she's concentrating on gaining allies and training for her fight with Lavias.
Thanks for your compliments about the Dungeon Exploring, I thought it might have gone on a little too long myself, there will probably be more at some point, but I don't know if it will be as detailed or as long. I have a lot more dungeon design ideas and stuff.
I would like to include more humour, one of the tags is humour after all, the trouble is I don't think I'm that good at writing it, I'm having a hard time seeing where it would fit. XD Which is a little annoying as I've always thought of myself as relatively funny. I'll try to add some in the next few chapters, but they are meant to be quite sad as she is leaving home. Hopefully as my writing improves I'll be able to naturally add in more humour.
I thought that Phantasmal Architects only accepted really good fictions that were atypical of this website, I would have thought my resurrect in to a monster story was too used to be a part of their group?

Acacia Chronicle
Elena de L'Enfer is a Lich, an eternal, ancient and bloodless fiend. Once an elven teenager, she is an immortal sorcerer ascended from the invocation of dark magics from another era, by the blessing of gods long dead to the world. She is now, like many before her, a Vizier of the Eye in service to her enigmatic (and sometimes very whimsical) mistress, Nhaka Mezalune. It is the duty of a Vizier of the Eye to do battle against the enemies of the Empire, be they humans, elves, or eldritch horrors far beyond even the darkest fathoms of the gods. That by her hand, the world of Melodia and the Empire of Arcadia might endure.

8 195The Last Journey
A slice of life litrpg story... or is it? It's burning slow, though. Moving on: War comes with a great cost. Lives and time wasted for most part. One could either be run with sword, be poisoned, be bowed, and sometimes meet their end with just a tiny speck of wood. With magic, it becomes even more colorful. From lightning, to worse poison, to hovering rocks, to weird bladed leaves, to whipping roots, and to a lot more odd things easily reasoned with magic. A wonderful creation. But once used to something more than wonder, more than tricks to gather laughs, it becomes worse. War becomes worse. For there is not only blood to be spilled. A particular town almost met the same end. Soldiers geared with swrords and bows came with mounts. Horses burning lush grasses as it cracked boulders and the soil alike with every step. The kind that only war ones could ever do. Even strange wheeled creations that oozed danger were towed, loaded with something meant to destroy. But not once had they acted upon what such devices should've done, nor what an an army is supposed to do. Siege never occurred, as much as a command to war. No. Magic existed so a simple little fire is all the worth the town has. No sword drawn, no arrows nocked, nothing. Just some mana spent and through the ash they march. That was how Nudius saw her end. It came not even as a surprise. She didn't have the moment to fully register what occurred before she found herself in an empty dark space. Life lost, time spent. All from a fire that had not even touched her. But she knew very well that it was magic. Something she wished to have and strived for to have. Yet it seemed that none of it would matter now. Nudius was well aware of what the color around meant, of the odd situation, of the unfeeling state of her being. It was death and that was it. She didn't have to worry or dream further. Although there wasn't what she truly wanted in what death to her is, but at least, Nudius was comforted to what she believed death is. Rest. But little did she know there's something more than that empty space. It wasn't only the promise of rest, but was also more than she could ever hope for. Another chance at life. Another chance to dream. ***Tags are there just in case. You never know! Umm... HI-MI-TSU. Story blurb+: This is slow burn, quite slice of life story about a girl learning magic. All the while as she fatten herself up. So yeah, progression fantasy. But there's Litrpg! Numbers! Magic! Spells! And of course! There's something more. But read on ahead, please. Oh yes. Plot! There is, too. Disclaimer: The cover isn't made by me. Just layered it with a text. I got it from a free website, if I correctly recall. I'll see to it. (Haven't worked on it.)

8 191Juvenile Gladiators
"I know that we've all come to terms with our... losses, our predicament. The things that I and your coming commanders have to engrave into your mind, heart, and soul with the blood of our friends on each of our hands, & longing to go back home and survive this godforsaken world. You have no choice but to fight, hold your weapon tight, and run across the hell of the battlefield... You're no longer students of the school we used to attend. Not anymore. Not till we get home. For now, you will call yourselves... ...Gladiators." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When young students of a prestigous private school found themselves stuck in a world beyond their wildest imagination, they fight for their lives to complete the mission given to them the moment they entered. "Earn the title of Grandmaster and forfeit your life to ascend into the heavens. Let your soul purify in whole as it scatters across the different dimensions of the universes' plane." Or... something along those lines. Thankfully, the only hope these 28 students could lean on to are the four least most expected people to start leading them as full fledged leaders. Why? As they said... "We've already finished getting the title of Grandmaster... It's a board game. We've been teleported to the land of Everoe, the heroes this world calls... Gladiators."
