《The Dungeon Hive》Prologue- The Mistake

All spirits in the world has an affinity. Some are attracted to the elementals; air, fire, earth, and water. Some are attracted to the environment; the plains, the mountains, the sea, the forest etc. Others are attracted to the emotions of the mortals; their joy, laughter, fears. It is these spirits that the group of humans is targeting.
The 5 humans had arrayed themselves in a circle around a stone slab. The circular stone slab had various magical symbols and glyphs inscription carefully chiseled into it and in the center of the slab was a small crystal, no bigger than a child’s palm. The group was nervous and perhaps sensing that, the lead human started to speak.
“The time has arrived. Everyone knows what he’s supposed to do. Everyone do his job and all of us will be mages before the season is out.”
“This is wrong,” the youngest one says. “We’re not supposed to be doing this. We should not be doing this.”
“Oh come on Jana! It’s a little too late to have second thoughts now isn’t it?”
The oldest human put up his hand to stop the argument before it starts. He had expected this and honestly, would have been worried if no one had put up at least some token objections. After all, what they are attempting to do was very dangerous.
“Jana, you are right.” The remaining 4 humans looked at the oldest in shock. He did not let them have a chance to speak and continued. “What we are attempting is something only High Mages are supposed to do. The 5 of us here…well, we’re not even mages. We are just apprentices…”
That was too much for the man who had belittled Jana. “Carvin, what are you saying? You were the one who suggested we do this!”

“That right Savian, I was.” The man called Carvin said. “But do you really think I wanted to do this if I had a choice? You think I really wanted to risk my life to do a spell at least 4 levels above my rank? I don’t but what choice do I have?” Carvin let his rage showed in his voice and gave his 4 companions time to digest his words.
“All 5 of us are talented,” he continued “but we are all commoners. The Mage Council would never allow us to be mages. They only promote the royals, the nobles, the soldiery, and rich merchants. Talent means nothing in this world and that’s just the truth. Being our betters’ apprentices is the best “people like us” can hope for but you know what; I refuse to live the rest of my life as an apprentice to a talentless fool who got his position just because his father is rich!”
A silence fell on the group after their leader’s outburst. He was right and they knew it. The Duchy of Yachium was a small kingdom ruled by the royals and the nobles. No matter how talented peasants like them were, they would never hope to rise to the rank of mages.
Not unless they did something that would take the decision out of the hands of the Mage Council.
That was why the 5 of them were now in a cave in the middle of nowhere. They were going to attempt to create something that should be beyond the abilities of simple apprentices; beyond even the skills of normal mages. If they could do this, the Mage Council would have no choice but to promote them. It was dangerous, illegal and truth be told, a little mad. However magic-users were nothing if not ambitious.

No other words were necessary. Their doubts had been cleared. The 5 companions began casting. There were many magical traditions in the world but almost all of them had one thing in common; they used the spirits of the world for their spells.
Shamans used animal spirits for their totems; paladins used holy spirits to strengthen their bodies; necromancers used death spirits to raise their unholy minions. Spirits were non-sentient magical beings that fuel the magic of the land and now, the 5 companions were calling every spirit they could.
The location of the ritual had been carefully chosen. The 5 had chosen The Keg Mountains because it was isolated and also because there was a forest and a small river nearby. The companions had dug a tunnel into Big Keg, the highest of the 3 Keg Mountains, and created a small square room at the end of it for their work. The nearby spirts heard their call and were arriving. Soon the small room was filled with spirits of all kinds and the group began the second part of the ritual.
As the other 4 worked to keep the spirits within the room, Carvin, their leader, changed his spell. He targeted the crystal and magically opened it up. Long ago, enchanters had discovered that crystals were good storage components for spirits and used them to house and store spirits.
“Now”
At Carvin’s command, the rest of the group forced the spirits into the crystal. The glyphs in the stone slab began to glow in power and the small crystal began to float in the air. The ritual was working!
Perhaps it was because they were overeager; maybe it was because they missed something in the casting; or it could even be because they were not as ready as they believed they were; but Carvin instinctively knew something was wrong.
“Wait, it’s too fast. Slow the…”
Carvin never got to finish his warning.

No More Respawns
Synopsis: The first time Allen died, he was forced back into a living hell where death is temporary, and power is all that matters. With evil and depravity as the rule, tragedy becomes comedy and life becomes an act. Only a deal with a shady god can get him back to his old life, but what happens if there’s nothing left to save? Maybe hell isn’t so bad if you have infinite lives… until you don’t. Needless to say, it’s all fun and games until there’s no more respawns. Foreword: This story is meant primarily as an action adventure and secondarily as a dark and nihilistic comedy. It may not be readily apparent in the beginning, but that's what I have planned (I feel the need to emphasize the dark; don’t rage at me if it gets too ‘traumatizing’ or something). I’m going to take my time with this, so it won’t immediately inundate you with doom and gloom. This is also a comedy, remember? On that note, if for some cursed reason you just can't handle either the references or the jokes, I am willing to battle in the comments. Anyway, I still put a significant amount of effort into the system, so I hope you enjoy that part. It is a little bulky, I'll admit to that, but I wanted to try something new and its more fun when there's more depth to it. Regardless, I still have a lot of fun doing math in the middle of writing a fictional story (/s). I also want to see if I can keep from messing up the pacing. Many times, I end up going too fast because I'm afraid of the story getting boring, which tends to ironically have the opposite effect. I'm still learning I suppose; we'll see how things go. Lastly, please leave reviews and comments, they really mean a lot to me and (usually) help me improve considerably. I'll be asking for feedback in the polls and I do still check the old ones from time to time. Notes: The story takes a bit of time to develop; give it time if you're here for drama, grimdark, or antihero. The system is all blue boxes and I'm not half-assing the numbers. Chapters will be between 1k and 2k words usually. I always use the oxford coma, fight me. Might drop if rating falls below 4 stars, idk. It depends on how my life is going. Cover drawn by yours truly in MS paint. (I have skill, I know)

The Abyss That Stares
In an unremarkable forest in the world of Stillera, there lies a laboratory that houses various experiments, and genetically modified lifeforms. A team of researchers look up from their observation room, studying the domed arena. One of them leans forward, speaking into a microphone. "X1, move to testing grounds." A dark shadow emerges from one side, tentacles covered in eyes waving through the air as it inspects the arena. The shadow notices them staring at it. So it stares back. (The premise of this novel is heavily inspired by Super Minion. Everything else, not so much.)

House of Wolves
“The forest grew still as the bastard sword took its' last life that night. The beast's shirt was saturated with blood and sweat, clinging to his skin after the heat of battle. The demons that drove him insane were dead, but his broken sanity failed to mend. Left standing in a pool of scarlet, his mind shrouded in the ecstasy of massacre, only one thought remained—more.†-Ch.9Dead to the world and the property of insanity, a former death row inmate is thrown into a new world, thrown to the wolves with two goals: send those running the experiment to hell, and enjoy whatever blood spills along the way. This is the third iteration of my fiction. The earlier titles are Imperator which revised to become Reaper which became this original web novel. House of Wolves is still a work in progress so any suggestions and comments are welcome. I write volumes at a time and then upload on a regular schedule once completed.Mature tag for language, gore and adult content.

Demon Hunters
Far in the future, the last two viable cities in the western hemisphere – Technoburbia and New Baravia – struggle for control over a vast and largely desolate land. Officially they are at war. In practice, the war has been a stalemate for a generation, the disputed frontier between the two city-states never moving. In the city of New Baravia itself, a vast circular concrete wall keeps its inhabitants in, and its refugees out. For its citizens, life is monotonous and unequal, with enormous wealth in the hands of nobles, criminal gangs, and entertainment bosses. It is the last of these that control the hit entertainment show, “Demon Hunters”. A chance, perhaps, for the ordinary man or woman to rise up, and change their fate... This LitRPG novella is based around a futuristic battle-royale situation, partly set in VR, and partly in a post-apocalyptic city. The story features combat and action, some strong language, and lots of great characters that will stick with you! [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

A festering world
A story about the apparition of the system on Earth, and the adventures of John on a festering world. Contain a lot of mythological figures like the four horsemen, eldritchs and a shitload of gods. Warning: This is my first story and English is not my native language so the story will probably be bad but I will try to improve. I write this story for fun, there is currently no release schedule.
