Chapter 55
Raise Undead
Skill proficiency increased
Level 35/50
You can now summon Death knights, Doom Knights, Dulahans, Ghouls, specters, Zombies, Skeletons.
Resurrection costs and maintenance costs are reduced.
50 Mana per Death knight, Doom knight and Dulahan. 15 Mana per minute to maintain.
10 mana cost to resurrect for all lower classed summons.
5 mana per minute to maintain.
The penalty on the mental ability of all resurrected corpses is removed.
Finally!
This is what I was waiting for, and the skill has 15 more levels to go.
I was not interested in necromancy at all, even if the summoned ones are quite vicious, I can literally summon an army right now but this was not what I needed this skill for.
It took me only twelve hours to reach this level, simply because I had enormous amounts of mana I was able to raise hundreds upon hundreds of undead. Every time I did so the level would rise exponentially, at first I was going to give up, but once I saw that the penalty on the mental abilities was being reduced slightly for every level up of the skill, I had to actually go on and keep leveling it.
Why? Simple, I aim to resurrect some of those within me, their presence in the actual world will be desired.
Yet before that I need to do one thing…my reserves of soul energy are depleted…I need to hunt something…however, the creatures of the forest here will only provide low quality souls even I manage to chase them down. That was something I learned after having some of the summoned skeletons and knights hunt some wild boars and a few monsters that were lurking nearby.
I need human souls to replenish my reserves or something stronger…
I dismissed all corpses that I raised near me, like I did every time, I summoned a hundred then willed them to disappear, and so they turned back to dust.
It was getting crowded anyway…
The girls were still in their spot as I checked on them every now and then by using the herald’s ability, and now as it was getting dark it is time I go back.
Once I did I found all four of them seated near a bonfire they made, they seem to have had hunted some sort of rabbit and were just done eating.
I need to eat too, now that I think about it.
“You took your time…” said Haruna, the girl who seem not to care about her behavior around me…all three of them had their collars in their necks. They didn’t even seem to want it removed…
“I had to prepare something.” I said in a monotonous way.
Then I added
“You girls need to know something, I have been thinking about it for a while now.”
“What is it?” Said Haruka who seems less awkward now.
“You girls are weak. As you have seen in the fight against the dragon, your assistance was minor and your help was barely needed. You need to become stronger…I am here for that, if you are to follow me…”
“Follow you? Do we even have a choice in the matter?” said Haruna in a spiteful manner.
Misaka looked at her in a way, that I felt she wanted to shut her up, but I didn’t really care I needed them to understand something
“No, you don’t. And you know why? Because simply without my help you will die”
“How would you know that? We are much stronger now, almost level 400 I don’t think the hero party can lay a hand on us now” said Haruna.
“I don’t know what level this hero party is, but level is not everything, I just received a notification few moments ago, the Pontiff was trying to remove my brand on one of the heroes, this could only mean one thing, they have the assistance of the church, and as I have seen, you are hunted by the church and deemed as traitors, do you think your level can save you against a whole kingdom?”
“But…”
“Quiet Haruna…He is right” said Misaka “We brought this on ourselves, and only he can help…though I still can’t see how, we know you are strong Daiki” said Misaka addressing me “You are strong enough to fight against a dragon, and you have a god slayer title, but still can you defeat a kingdom alone?”
I then said
“Probably, I can but I will still be needing stronger pawns” I said while emphasizing on the last word. They are pawns and nothing else.
These words earned me a scowl and a sigh from the other girls but I didn’t care
“So are you going to take the collar again? I will remove your skill seal, you can use whatever abilities you have and also you are free to do whatever you like but still you must remain within reach. You still have to follow me in battle though, this means that you might end up against your former classmates.”
“It’s alright, they tried to kill us anyway…but still this doesn’t change the fact that we will still be wiped out, it is four against a kingdom, the elf here has nothing to do with this too…” Said Haruka. Then she added “At least remaining Daiki’s S-slaves is a much better situation than ending up as another one’s...”
“Not just four, I have some backup” now remembering the still silent elf I said
“What is your reason for following us? You helped Haruka against the curse but that doesn’t change the fact that you ignored my clear order, what do you have to say against this?” I asked the elf.
“My lord” said the elf while giving a slight bow “I needed your help, my life is not worth anything I you could offer your assistance, I will gladly follow you no matter where, and would give my life at your command if you so which to hear what I have to say.”
“Speak” I said I wanted to know what she had in mind, risking one’s life just to say few words is something I respect. It must have taken her a lot of courage to try and peruse us even after I clearly threatened to kill her.
“My country my lord. The land of the Elven kingdom is in dire need of help. Our queen is sick and we cannot help against a problem that plagued us for decades, Famine, has taken roots in our kingdom and we need someone with your power to persuade him to leave…”
“Famine? You speak of it as if it was a person? How would I help against your food problem? Shouldn’t you be able to hunt and gather your own food?”
“No my lord, Famine, not from the lack of food, but the lack of mana. Famine one of the four major ideas has taken root in our kingdom and it is sucking our country´s mana dry. We cannot do anything against it, and as we are made of magic, the lack of mana is starving us, we do not need sustenance like you humans do, but we feed on mana instead. I came to the land of humans for help after learning that there was a hero party, but I was refused audience, and was even captured, and my companions were either slain or enslaved, I managed to escape and went to the Demon kingdom only to have the same happen again. You are my last hope my lord, please help us and I can swear that our kingdom will forever be grateful, you can even have the Elven army assist in your war, if you assist us.” Another idea…Famine, huh…

“I was thinking about going to the elven kingdom anyway, you said the queen could help against this curse I have, very well I will go there, but I need to do something first.”
The elf’s eyes glistened and tears began to drop, as if her hope had rekindled while she said
“Thank you my lord. It means the world to us.”
“Don’t be mistaken I will only go and see what the problem is, if I find myself unable to help I will just have the queen cure me and I will leave, don’t get your hopes up”
“It is alright my lord, even your presence is more than enough…my quest can be complete now”
Seeing that no quest notification came up I had my doubts about this whole ordeal but whatever happens, I have the power to deal with it.
“What were you doing all day long Daiki?” said Haruka in a questioning manner
“Nothing serious, just raising the dead” I said
To this statement the four of them looked at me in a weird manner…is it that strange though?
You have reestablished the slave contract.
Current slaves
Haruka Kusanagi (Level 460)
Haruna Toujou (Level 371)
Misaka Zamehada (Level 390)
“Well your levels did increase it is a good sign, now you are benefiting from my stats which will help even more. Yet still you need protection, you can still be easily killed.”
“I can also help…” said the Elf
“You want to be a slave too?” I asked
“If it would increase your chances then I won’t mind”
“Very well,” I said and brought another slave collar from my inventory.
Giving it to her, she put it one, and I have yet another slave.
Slave contract established
Slave Elia Grimory Level (260)
I then inspected the elf for further details
Elia Grimory
Level 260
Elven princes
“An elven princes, why am I not surprised…”
I said then walked a bit away from where they stood and into the cave.
“What are you doing?” Asked Haruna.
“I said you needed to be stronger. There is an easy way to do so, it is quit dangerous but also very fast. Follow me”
And so they did.
Once inside the cave, it seemed to be filled with that black matter, the girls might get harmed if they were to touch it, so I need to clean things up.
Yet before that
I opened the well of souls, and began to beckon a certain monster from within hell.
“What are you doing!” said Haruna “That is dangerous, you remember that Necromancer he almost brought something foul from within hell…what if something comes out of there”
“That is exactly why we are here…the only way for you to get stronger is by fighting stronger things, and in hell, there are plenty of those around…and I need a battery for myself so just wait a bit.”
The well of souls opened wider and I felt something coming out of it.
It was a demon at first, yet before it got out, I looked at it with eyes filled with hatred and shouted
“Fuck off! You are not what I am looking for…”
The demon as if understanding, instantly went back to where it came from.
The well of souls remained open, while souls swirled and tried to climb out, unable to do so no matter how they tried.
Until I finally heard the voice I was waiting for
A soul eater’s voice
It crawled out from the infernal location grabbing at the rift with its hands and pulling itself forward, though it was big it still was much smaller compared to the black dragon. Before it could even open its mouth to initiate an attack I wrapped my chains around its neck and pulled it out with all my strength, slamming it into the farthest wall.
The thing howled in pain and I instantly forced the well of souls to shut down.
Soul Eater –Unbound.
Level 700
-10 000Hp blunt damage
190 000Hp/ 200 000Hp
Well it has not that much Hp, but it is quite dangerous anyway.
Soul Eater –Unbound.
Level 700
Soul eaters are destroyer of souls, they consume the souls of the fallen ones.
Slowly destroying their essence.
Soul eaters are considered one of the most dangerous creatures in hell.
“Here you go girls, kill this thing so that you will get stronger. Go at it like your lives depend on it, and by the way, if any of you gets into a dangerous position don’t count on me to help, you are on your own. But I am not that cruel to not give a helping hand so here you go” is aid then activated a skill
“Glory of the dark inferno!”
Glory of the dark inferno
+200% damage to all abilities
+400% increased regeneration to stamina/health/mana
All holy-Light attributed spells have been reduced
-15% resistance towards all elements
Enemies will receive
-30 % fortitude.
-1000 willpower
-25% stamina regeneration
-25% health regeneration
-25% mana regeneration
The zone lit up with four pyres lighting the way, but the darkness of this place remained.
As it was, the infernal heat was eating away at the remains of the mist, the dragon corpse was nowhere to be found though.
The girls looked scared at first, even The Elf was hesitating a bit, while I went back and sat alone, the Soul eater stood up and howled, shaking them to their core, while the scream is useless against the current me, they must have felt it.
The buff from the territorial skill I summoned is more than enough for them to help in this fight, but no matter, they need to face true danger to grow.
“Shit…if only I had a weapon,” said Haruka who began channeling a fire ball skill and shot it at the monster
Which only served to piss it off, after all it was immune to fire…it lived in magma for god’s sake…
Then I remembered
“If you need a weapon I have just the thing” I said.
Then threw her a sword that was in my inventory for a long time.
The rift maker.
Once she took hold of the black katana her, she gave it a few swings, and said
“Wow! This thing is amazing! But how do you make it acknowledge you?” She asked
I just shrugged at her, I really don’t know.
“You should be careful though, the soul eater will not wait for you…” I said
Just as I warned her, the soul eater struck at where she stood, but she managed to roll away in the nick of time.
The beast howled once again and began its hunt.
Swim or drown, this is the only way to get stronger…I thought to myself.
Then began summoning a corpse. A normal human looking corpse raised itself in the middle of this battle and stood before me.
It was mindless and soulless, the difference between corpses with a soul and ones without is the ability to follow instructions, the ones with a soul can have an Ego and may be problematic to control, yet the ones without are generally dumb and would follow every order to the letter if it was not complicated.
I then casted Soul projection, summoning the soul of the blacksmith.
“Soul grip!”
I used soul grip on his projected soul and forcefully bond it to the corpse.
You have learned a new skill
Soul Fusion
The ability to fuse the soul of a dead being to physical objects
Cost 100 Soul energy.
Increase with the increase of the level of soul
+10 soul energy for each level
So 2800 soul energy for the level 280 blacksmith, not bad…it’s going be quite costly if I were to do this to anything of higher levels…
Once that was done I inspected the corps
Givara Sheldon
Legendary Forgemage
Level 280
Soul bound
Undead
“Welcome to the land of the living” I said to the man in front of me then added “Time to get to work, I need you to make me some armor.”
“Thank you for bringing me back…though this body is a bit different…”
“Don’t worry about that, that is a body of an undead, it should be far stronger than your old one.”
“Well I am just not that used to it I will need some time to know its quirks and If I were to forge you anything my lord I will be needing some tools…a hammer an anvil and a smelter…well the smelter is not needed considering this hellish black flame I think it should be more than enough to make the finest armors and weapons…”
“Very well” I then used the metamorphosing blade to change it into a blacksmith’s hammer and an anvil. It was quite handy after all.
“Here you go, and here is what I need you to make” I said to the blacksmith fully explaining the details about the armor I have in mind…
Then I turned around and sat while watching the girls struggle against the soul eater.
Quite the scenery, an undead smithing weapons inside an inferno, while four girls are fighting for their lives against an oppressing enemy, where can you find more entertainment?
