《The Infinite Labyrinth》94. Interlude: Konisit, USA Gate Outpost
Advertisement
Konisit had quickly become a popular zone once it had been found out. Seven connections, three to tier five zones, four to tier four ones. And what’s more, all within two hours walking of the middle Gate.
As a result, Konisit Post had started with people moving the central Plaza Recall stone, and grown steadily. It wasn’t going to rival the General Meadow in tier one next to the Gate to Manhattan, but it had most of everything. Including regular markets, a post office, and semi-permanent lodgings for a variety of teams, such as Sylvia Underwood’s.
Right now, said Precise Ancillary Underwood was rolling a message into a ball and throwing it into the wall in rage.
Dear Miss Underwood,
I am sorry to be unable to help at this time.
I did, indeed, deal with trophy orbs, but the market has been recently very good, and I am now out of stock.
The Hamleys branch of the London store has apparently found British collectors particularly fond of the globes from the Labyrinth, thinking them very pleasant, and offered good prices for all of my supply.
I would have pointed you to Markand and Sons, who deal in various curios, but I do not think they have any right now.
Should I happen to get new stock, I will, of course, notify you and we can discuss a price. These novelties have always had a limited interest, but with the British Isles entering the market, that might be changing.
Yours sincerely,
Elazaro Peres.
Collectors and pleasant items, bah. Sylvia could smell the cowshit from across an ocean and nine zones away.
Markand and Sons were also out of stock. She had asked recently, and the two they had had for over a year in front of the store she’d passed every so often in Manhattan were gone. Purchased by “a British gentleman”.

The damned British had found something. Almost certainly with that boy’s damned descriptor vision. She had been right that day. There was something about the orbs that didn’t immediately come out. And now, the English Professionals knew about it, and they were trying to capitalize on it before the world came aflame with the news or something.
She’d moved slowly on her own. The prices, as implied, had been good. Such an artefact from the Labyrinth fetched collector prices, indeed, of over forty silver dollar apiece. She’d purchased on her own funds four of those after she’d grabbed the Feathered Serpent one her team had handed her.
She might not know what they were good for, but now, she was certain at last that they were good for something.
All that remained was to find out what.
She grabbed a paper and quill and sat at the team’s main table.
Now… how to make him divulge what secrets he was keeping close. He’d been eager to speak about his new chest descriptors, but would he be willing to tell her about this new development? She sighed. So… how to formulate it.
Honesty? Would it even work?

The Arcane Gunslinger
A lazy celestial being's mistake leads to Sergeant William Remington, a decorated member of the Coalition Marines, to be placed into a new body. His old life aboard the Valkyrie, an interstellar destroyer has also been replaced as he finds his new body in an unknown world. Where he learns of magic, skills, the system, helhorses, and slinging lead with ancient revolvers. Initially, he is skeptical of his new norm but the desire to survive leads him to try to earn a living while he figures out what just happened to his life. He's a fighter but far from the elite, a grunt with some experience. But what better way than to fall back to what he's familiar with, weapons and going after criminals and rebels. With the added challenges of monsters. This is my first Litrpg writing. It's a wild west fantasy setting with the MC taking a role as a gun-slinging bounty hunter in a world of magic and monsters. Hope you enjoy it. UPDATES AT 3PM EST ON MONDAYS AND THURSDAYS! Warning. The story has a slow start because I'm trying to keep my MC realistic. It takes him some time to adjust to his new surroundings, start to make some friends, and really get into the swing of it. I kind of think it's dumb when an isekai's MC manages to blink twice and suddenly adapts to their new world without any sort of struggle or learning period. So not doing that but don't worry Will may be confused and a bit unfocused at first but he'll grow into his own. Also using it to practice my digital artwork... which is far from par but improving. Keep an eye on author notes for maps and depictions of monsters and characters.

Rise of the Desolate Star
“The soul is a sword. The body its sheath. Adversity is the hammer, while courage is the anvil. Oh, and son? Your tears and snot, they’re just the sparks that chip away at the impurities, like dungflies off a sow’s arse.” - Kendric Farrow Ever since he could remember, young Skyle Farrow’s body and mind have been hammered relentlessly like red-hot steel against the anvil of adversity under the watchful eyes of his father. All the while, Skyle’s heart and soul have been nurtured by the enduring warmth of his loving mother. Skyle has always asked why a simple farmboy would have need for all manner of skills like hand-to-hand combat, wilderness tracking, archery, beast taming, geography, history, politics, and even embroidery! The one vital question remains unasked, however: just what are his parents preparing him for? The invasion of a demonic horde? The advent of an age of war and endless bloodshed? The dark legacy of an ancient mystical power? A desperate struggle to save the lives of those he holds dear? The end of the world? It is a good thing he never asked these questions, for the answer would have been yes - to all of them. Now Skyle must take his first steps beyond the sheltered world he has known. He has been raised strong, but is he strong enough? Welcome to a tale of friendship, love, loss and heartbreak. It chronicles the growth of a young boy into a legend whose path will shatter the very foundations of the world. Expect a rich, detailed world with vivid characters. Each will pursue their own complex agendas due to realistic motivations. The MC will be overpowered, not through liberal use of plot armor but rather the deliberate application of arduous training, clever thinking, and nurtured talent. Battles will be graphic, victories will be bittersweet, and defeat will not mean the end of the world - for time waits for no one and life goes on whether we like it or not. New chapters posted on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 6 p.m EST, 10 p.m. GMT. Saint's Supporter
Dumped into a world by myself, set up with a class that requires others to excel with just over a week to prepare for a fight with a literal god. This is just another betrayal to add to the list. I won't stop until I find the person who put me in this situation, along with my friend who I dragged into this mess. Transferring to another world and gaining special powers is a dream for some, but if they were dropped into my shoes... they'd probably give up. But I won't. This story has the following elements: Male MC Light RPG mechanics (no in-story stat tables) Non-standard class for the MC Moderate violence A mix of solo fights and group battles with a balance of tactics, skill and ability usage If you're looking for the below, you may be disappointed: Instantly overpowered MC (no prior skills in combat, every bit of growth is earned) Female MC (duh) Explicit sex (may be referenced, but no NSFW chapters) Health bars (damage taken and given reflects reality) Harem Gore and ultra-violence **This story is a First Draft, changes may take place during the process. Three chapters per week at minimum.** **So, this is set up as a GameLit transported to a new world story initially, but it focuses on how such a system would work in real life. There are levels, abilities and mana pools, but damage and health are realistic and combat is fast and frantic. I think that is an interesting mix. If you have any questions, just ask in the comments. I'm always happy to discuss anything in relation to the story.**
