Chapter 48: Preparation and Advancements
Makoto soon enough met up with Sharon, Lilly and Sanja.
It took a while to explain the entire situation concerning the possible war that was on the horizon but after they understood what was going on the 3 of them were eager to help defend the Stronghold so it was decided that they would go into the Labyrinth and grind a few more levels.
All of them had a bit of trouble getting used to the scary looking spider that seemed to have taken Makoto's right shoulder as its new home.
Sharon was probably the first one to really open up to it.
Only after a few hours of petting it was there a sign that it even had an effect.
The spider traveled on her body occasionally now which she did not seem to mind at all but Arbecus always returned to Makoto's right shoulder, whatever the reason behind that was.
It was still a little awkward seeing Lilly again but she seemed to have put it behind her and acted just like before.
One thing he did have to reevaluate was how he felt about her.
It was not really love but more of a brotherly affection, even if he was an only child, that was the best way for him to really put it.
More than friendship but not the kind of love you have for your partner, it was strange experience for him to say the least.
Not willing to waste any more time on his feelings and eager to finally reach Level 25, Makoto and his Party entered the Labyrinth once again.
Thankfully Arbecus jumped from his body every time he engaged into combat and monsters didn't seem to attack it for some strange reason so it was one less thing he had to worry about.
The thought of his pet dying so early after getting it was not very pleasent.
It was also still a mystery to Makoto if Arbecus would be gone for good or if he would respawn again after death.
Considering his pet spider did not even have a health bar to begin with made it quite clear that a pet was not meant for combat.
But would it die from an unlucky sword strike that glanced it?
A lot of things were still unclear for him of how a pet really worked so he decided to ask his Uncle before going on his Journey.
The next 5 days passed quite quickly.
Fighting and more fighting while collecting a mountain of loot, that was basically it.
On the second day of hunting inside the Labyrinth Makoto finally reached his desired 25 after what seemed like ages.
You have reached Level 25 and are now officially able to advance your Unique Class.
Do you wish to advance your Class?
Unsure of what other choice he had, Makoto clicked yes and immediately a bunch of system messages bombarded him.
Reevaluation of Psyche, fighting style and overall behavior complete.
Your Class has changed from 'Crimson Warrior' to 'Blood Savage'!
Blood Savage:Born on the battlefield of gore and carnage you are more beast than man, an empty shell of what was once human. Your actions disgust many and frighten even more but interestingly enough you never harm the innocent and only draw the blood of the guilty. Justice in Blood.

+2 Skills
+20 to all stats except Fame.
Memories of Carnage:Fleeting are those bound to the battlefield, vain are those who survive it but all share the same memories.
Allies and bonds forged in the heat of battle and despair.Skill Type:active (Buff)Skill LevelLvl 1 (0%)Skill Effect:Will apply the 'Memories of Carnage' Buff to all Allies in a 50 feet radius.
Caster will receive +1% more overall Damage until duration is over.
Caster and all Allies will do +1.5% more overall Damage until duration is over.Duration:3 Minutes.Uses:100 Mana
Blood Rush:The liquor of life and death, the crimson flow that keeps us all alive, no matter the race, we are all brothers and sisters of Blood.Skill Type:activeSkill LevelLvl 1 (0%)Skill Effect:Sacrifice a constant 50 health per second to receive +5% movement and attack speed.Additional Effect:Effect doubles every 10 seconds.
Movement and Attack speed gains will be halved every time.
Unsure what to make of these two very strange Skills it took him a good bit to figure them out.
As far as he understood it, the first Skill 'Memories of Carnage' would grant him and all allies 1.5% extra Damage while also increasing the overall Damage he would take by 1%.
That was not too bad for a Buff considering it only increased the Damage he alone would take and not everyone's, it was a great Skill to have in a bigger battle.
The second Skill sounded very dangerous and would be completely useless without his 'Blood Rejuvenation' Skill.
As far as he understood the math, the Skill would work like this:
-50 Health every second = +5% movement and attack speed.
After 10 seconds of having the Skill activated.
-100 Health every second = +7.5% movement and attack speed.
After 10 more seconds of having the Skill activated.
-200 Health every second = +8.75% movement and attack speed.
And the entire Skill would keep going like this while draining his health to a point where his regeneration would be unable to keep up anymore.
At level 1 the Skill only seemed useful during the first 10 or so seconds but what would the benefits be if it was at level 5?
Increased movement and attack speed was something that he dearly needed considering he had no ranged Skills to speak of and the price was not too bad for his Class.
All in all it seemed like a fair trade at first glance so he decided to look at his Status window, again many things had changed in only 1 level.
Makoto fiddled with the settings to also see what bonuses the Evasiveness and Willpower stats currently gave him.
Status WindowName:Makoto ForrowfellLevel:25Alignment:Good, House ForrowfellClass:Blood SavageRace:HumanGender:MaleTitlesSlayer of All, Righteous Demon, First of a Kind, Champion of Blood, Murderer, Noble of AsuriaHealth:1760/1760Mana:800/800Strength:154Agility:177 (+5)Vitality:110 (+28)Wisdom:60Intelligence:61Fame:26Evasiveness:58Willpower:55Special Effects:5.8% Chance to evade all Damage taken from a blow.
+27.5% stat increase for 5.5 seconds if Willpower is activated.
+5% Damage against all living beings.
+15% Damage against 'Chaotic' or Individuals with an 'Evil' Alignment.
+10% Chance to inflict the 'fear' status on your opponents when entering combat.
+10% Chance to inflict the 'fear' status on your first attack in battle.
+15% easier to intimidate Merchants or other people.
Very happy about his advancements and eager to test his new Skills, Makoto informed the others about his current Class, there was no need to hide anything at this point as he trusted all 3 girls wholeheartedly.

"The first Skill seems interesting, especially if you can buff high burst Damage Mages, that seems straight up broken in a large scale battle."
Lilliana commented while the others had to aggree.
"The second Skill would be impossible to pull off without your regeneration, after 10 seconds you would lose 100 HP every second which is equivalent to an incredibly strong poison or acid.
Honestly it seems like a shit Skill for any other Class and even for you it is kind of dangerous because it would take away a good chunk of your own regeneration if you leave it on for too long."
Makoto had to give Sanja props for noticing the one big flaw with the Skill.
Even if he could support the Skill for half a minute it did not necessarily mean that was for the best.
His Class was centered around long fights and being a hard to kill target but 'Blood Rush' crippled this strong point of his Class while only giving him a moderate compensation.
Sure if the Skill was a high enough Level it would be way worth it to exchange a bit of health for speed but even then it was a dangerous thing to do.
"Well as long as you don't overdo it and use it sparingly I am sure the Skill will help you more than it will hurt you."
Sharon finally said with and encouraging slap on his behind which surprised Makoto.
"Back to hunting?"
Lilly asked and all around everyone nodded.
Makoto tested the waters with both Skills in the next few battles and had to admit that his girlfriend was right, as long as he didn't overdo it, both Skills could be used to some pretty devastating effects.
The only thing that bothered the entire party was that every time he used 'Blood Rush' a trail of Blood tears flowed from his eyes while another stream ran down the corners of his mouth and he even occasionally threw up a mouthful which did disrupt his movements.
It was more than a bit disturbing but what about him was not at this point?
With newfound vigor in his strides and still unsure about his new strength and speed after receiving so many stats with his Class advancement, Makoto needed a few hours of getting used to.
The only one that did not profit from the hunting was Sharon but she seemed to be more than content with occasionally helping out while also getting used to fighting in a party.
Makoto also still made a few mistakes with his positioning as he had played most of his time solo until now but it was getting better.
After a successful second day they called it a night and logged out.
On the third day of hunting they advanced into a very deep part of the first floor and even encountered an Elite Monster that dropped junk loot.
The only real good thing of the entire battle was the experience that they all gained which pushed Sanja and Lilliana close to their own Class Advancement.
On the 4th day of constant hunting the last two members of their party finally reached the 25 milestone and quickly left the Dungeon.
Both girls had a normal Class so they had to go to an NPC Instructor to decide on an Advancement path.
Soon enough Sanja appeared first in her old Priest Clothes but with a new Class now.
She had chosen to stay as the good old Healer and had Advanced her Class to Cleric.
Together with now being able to revive Allies she gained a group heal, group buff and an AoE that would passively heal everyone in it for 10 HP every second.
Lilliana on the other hand appeared in a Purple mini skirt but still wore her black witch hat.
She had finally advanced her Class from an ordinary Mage to a Summoner.
Lilly could now conjure Familiars that would fight and draw aggro for her and it was even possible to acquire new ones from specific Monsters that she killed.
For attacking she still had her old Mage Skills even though her Damage was cut by nearly a third as a punishment for being able to summon.
All in all it was now up to Makoto, Sharon and Lilly's Familiars to bring the hurt.
They went back to the Labyrinth for a few hours to test their new group synergy.
As a Summoner you generally had 3 types of Familiars, the Tank, the DD (Damage dealer) and the Support.
All 3 of them could attack and take aggro but there was immense differences in health, damage and available Skills of the Familiars.
As she was still at the early stages of her Skills, Lilly could only have one of the 3 availible types summoned at a time.
The Support Familiar had an interesting Skill that increased the party's overall Defense and Magic resistance but was kind of useless otherwise.
In the end it was decided to switch between Tank and DD Familiar for the most part.
If there was a lot of enemies she would summon her little Tank and deal Damage with her Mage Spells.
When it was only a couple of Monsters she opted to using her DD.
All 3 basic Familiars looked very much the same being just Stick figures that waddled around.
Thankfully Lilliana was able to change her Tank Familiar to one of the Labyrinth Boars so now every time she summoned her Tank an audible squeal of a rampaging pig echoed through the maze.
At the end of the 4th day they all decided to log out and get some dearly needed sleep for tomorrows Journey.
The Party had quite a bit of luck with the request as tomorrow would be Friday and together with 50 Million new players joining the game they would also have the actual time to play the game a lot more without having to worry about work or college.
With a goodbye to Sanja and Lilliana, Makoto turned around and looked Sharon in the eye.
Both had the same idea so they quickly ran up the stairs of Makoto's home and closed the door.
In the end because of the limited amount of time, they decided to just enjoy each others company and talked a bit about their thoughts and feelings.
The conversation quickly reached Lilly but again both felt like hitting a dead end and decided to change the subject.
It didn't take long until they stopped talking as words seemed to be unnecessary.
Makoto lovingly caressed Sharon's hip and legs while looking into her sapphire blue eyes and occasionally kissed her.
Again he felt thankful to all and every God in existence for allowing him to love a beautiful and kind hearted girl like her.
With yet another kiss he pushed her into the bed, now sitting on top of her but his red haired angel didn't mind at all.
Quite the opposite actually as her arms pulled him deeper and deeper between her full thighs.
They were only playing around naturally but Makoto couldn't help the surge of excitement that he felt.
Desire once again filled his mind, the desire to conquer Sharon, his Sharon.
With a lot of willpower he finally calmed the raging beast inside of him and instead decided to just put his face between her breasts which clearly amused her.
"Is it really that comfortable there?"
"Mhm."
He mumbled, most of the sound blocked out by soft and elastic flesh.
Another thing he liked about putting his head at her chest was that he was able to hear her heartbeat.
The slow and strong rhythm of her heart relaxed him to the point were he was just glad for everything that he had.
Glad that this heart was beating for no one else except him.
Glad that he had entered Azalon.
He was even glad that Veronica had dumped him, thankful for this injustice as karma allowed him to get together with Sharon instead.
With a slow movement he rolled off her but still pressed his entire being, all of him against her body.
Makoto could feel how her hand went through his messy black hair and how she put her own head on top of his.
"I love you Sharon."
He finally said, his heart nearly exploding out of his chest.
"I love you too Makoto, forever and always."
Feeling her lips touch his hair he started kissing her entire body on his end which in turn elicited a giggle from Sharon.
Just like this they spent the next half an hour before logging out.
"See you tomorrow my love."
Hugging him one more time, his girlfriend finally disappeared with a blinding light and Makoto soon enough followed in the same fashion.
His mind was flooded with happy thoughts and feelings while the beast inside of him was purring similar to a Ferrari.
Smiling at the strange resemblance he wished a good night to the other in his mind and slipped beneath the sheets.
As he was about to fall asleep a dark and deep voice seemed to reply but Makoto was already unable to even understand or remember a single word.
Good night, brother...

Chronicles of Xod (returning from hiatus)
After a long recovery over a chronic motion sickness issue, I feel I'm ready to return to writing this book. It might be slow at first, but I'm hoping to pick up where I left off. I apologize again for the long hiatus. The pages following are a true account. An account of how I, Josh--a teenage nerd from modern suburbia--ended up in a strange world filled with fantastic magic, bizarre creatures, and terrifying dungeons. Despite the troped-up fantasy feel of the world, this is hardly an ordinary tale. For one, don’t expect a happy ending. With the trials I’ve been through, the horrors I’ve seen and the atrocities I’ve committed, believe me when I tell you, this is not a happy tale filled with friendly rainbow bears or teenage flying unicorns. It’s more likely you’ll finish this book mentally scarred as I will not spare the details of my unfortunate adventures. With the help of my trusted companion Gui, I gain an insight that no one else in the world has. This knowledge allows me to exploit and, for lack of a better term, metagame the system which gave me a clear advantage over its residents. “With great power...,” someone might begin to quote to me. In my defense, I think maybe even you, reader, might have acted similarly with how this reality changed my view of good and evil. This story will be updated regularly on Wednesdays around 6 PM. There will only be about 1000 words per update. The focus is to finish the story before doing any major changes or editing. Please read as if this is a work in progress, not a finished product. Feel free to let me know if you see any error, whether glaring or minor. If you help me out, I'll be sure to add you to a thank you list at the front of the book when it is published. Chronicles of Xod is a first-person fantasy novel that follows the adventures of a young man from Earth. Through unknown circumstances, he finds himself in a fantasy world where life is not all wonders and happy endings. The story takes common fantasy concepts from my favorite video games, books and movies and gives them an adult edge. It also introduces some taboo concepts often glossed over by stories written for broad audiences. The style is meant to be immersive and heavily detailed. The short novel will be written in a way that attempts to bring a sense of realism to an unrealistic genre. Where there are realistic consequences and dangers in a world populated with violent monsters, cruel demons, bloodthirsty undead, and immoral bandits. In this fantasy world, the inhabitants are essentially gender blind as far as sexuality is concerned. There is also more variation amongst male and female physiology. This isn't meant to be any kind of promotion or demotion of social behavior in reality. Just a concept I thought would be an interesting idea to have in a fantasy setting. I highly discourage anyone from reading this material if you are personally concerned with being offended or traumatized. Both violent and sexual content will be graphically detailed. All characters involved in sexual scenes are mature and of the age of consent(18+).
