“I’ve always found these floor themes to be fascinating,” Mikaela says, his voice resonating through the stadium as the audience silently takes in the beautiful sight surrounding Wolf within the next puzzle room. “Most people tend to ignore advancing their technology after the System comes about, so things like this aren’t very easy to come by. Not unless you want to visit one of the Technalogia faction’s worlds, that is.”

The Technalogia faction is the term for the galaxies that are initiated into the System, or know about the System, and are against its use. They focus all of their efforts on improving their technology so that they can advance without the help of the System, making them the powers furthest along in technological development in existence.

Several shouts of dissent ring through the audience at the vampire’s last comment before being drowned out by the many cheers of excitement from those who are focused on the forerunner screen. Meanwhile, on the screen itself, Wolf can be seen sprinting through a strangely tiled floor. Every tile has a glow to it, with each glow being one of the colors of the rainbow, and each time Wolf steps on one of the tiles, one of seven effects occur.

When he steps on a red tile, a pillar of flames blast out at him from the ceiling, to which he blocks with his ice. On a blue tile, two freezing jets of frosty mist shoot out from the sides of the room to pincer him in place, only to do nothing as he ignores them.

The green tiles cause a green acid to splash down on him from the ceiling, to which he also blocks with his ice, not allowing a single drop to reach him.

Meanwhile, the rest of the tiles all have their own effects, to which Wolf manages to block every single one, causing the audience watching him to grow louder and louder in their cheers.

“I particularly like the traps on these types of floors,” Niklai mutters as he floats up next to Mikaela, drawing the vampire’s attention.

“Hmm, you have a point there,” Mikaela says before focusing on the screen again, “the use of the technology in the traps make them rather interesting to see. A lot more interesting than the magic focused traps of the other floors.”

The dwarf nods his head in agreement without another word as Wolf finally makes it to the other side of the room before pressing the green button sitting next to the door. Right after that, a loud beep echoes from the room, and the glow on each of the tiles begin to fade away.

“Although I do have to wonder how long this floor is going to take him, considering the number of puzzles he is going to be completing,” Niklai mutters with a frown.

Mikaela glances at him before focusing his eyes on the green and purple chest that appears in the center of the tiles. “I’m more worried about whether he will find another Pandora’s Box again or not.”

A couple of hours later

Interestingly enough, the items and skills given on a high tech floor theme are worth more than most of the other items and skills. Which makes me wonder why so many planets just ignore technology.

I mean, I can understand that they just want to focus on fighting and getting stronger, but it’s like they want something without doing any of the actual work to get it.

It’s a pretty lazy mentality if you ask me.

That said, it makes me a profit at least, considering how I’m making a decent amount of SP just from selling all of the garbage I’m getting here. I have at least been able to find one of the reasons why these items and skills are worth so much.

They are rather strange in that they all have limits on what they can be used on, but they are also a lot more powerful than items and skills of the same Tier from a less technologically advanced floor. Which makes some sense, considering the logic behind science and technology itself.

Anyways, how the hell am I supposed to summon my Portable Expanded System Store in this place? It’s too damned small!

I glance at the shortcut button I made on the top right of my interface before focusing on the open door in front of me.

Maybe if I just activate it in a doorway, considering how the thing usually appears in front of me…

I look back and forth between the doorway and the button for a few seconds before shrugging, stepping forwards, and pressing the button. Then, less than a second later, my house appears in front of me with a large amount of it going through the walls and the ceiling.

My mouth opens slightly in surprise before closing again as I step forwards to open the front door. I then step inside to surprisingly find it in one piece.

So, does it just expand the walls and ceiling outwards to make room for it…?

I look around the house for a few more seconds before deciding to just go with it as I approach the totem.

Time for dinner.

One hour later

Okay then, so I guess this is the type of monster I will find on this floor.

Which – if I’m being honest – I really should have expected considering everything else I have seen so far.

_-| Unnamed – LXRv04 Combat Droid – Level 557 |-_

The monster in front of me has four robotic legs, with a dome-shaped body, and a red spot on the front, center of the dome. A red spot that happens to be shooting fiery lasers at me that are doing absolutely nothing thanks to our gap in levels.

Preparing for that boss fight on the last floor made me a little bit over-leveled for this floor… not to mention the little slaughter I took part in with that boss during our fight.

I sit back and watch as the droid continues trying to hurt me with its little laser before getting tired and raising my clawed hand to scrap it, only to pause for a second as a thought comes to me.

It’s not very likely that this will actually do anything, but I am curious, so why not try it…

I freeze the creature in place before shifting into my hunter form and ignoring the slight fog that covers my thoughts to approach the robot. Once I reach it, I reach forwards and lightly bite into the dome making up its main body before backing up again to see what happens.

Maybe I can make some sort of robotic lycanthrope… or I can end up doing absolutely nothing and wasting my time.

Either way, it should satisfy some of my boredom. Because this floor really doesn’t have much going for it aside from the pretty aesthetics, and the sometimes interesting puzzles.
