Wolf
A few hours later
I wince as a loud noise echoes from amidst the blizzard, hurting my ears despite my soundproofing headphones. The noise sounds like a mix between a shriek, a scream, and some sort of monster’s roar, and it reverberates throughout the area in a way that makes it very difficult for me to find its point of origin.
“Damn it,” I grunt whilst raising the soundproofing on my headphones. At the same time, something suddenly zips straight through my life sense skill’s radius before disappearing again.
What the…
Before I can question what it was, it enters my life sense range again before zipping straight towards me. I turn towards the direction its coming from, only to see a faint flash of white before a burning pain comes from my lower leg, causing me to drop with a grunt down onto one knee. Whatever it is that is attacking me vanishes again out of my life sense range before I can get a clear look at it.
I glance down at my leg to find four bloody streaks going through my leg, straight through my armor.
“Not good,” I mutter, only to jerk to the left as I feel the thing enter the range of my life sense again.
This time, I catch a faint glimpse of the creature before another burning sensation comes from my shoulder as a snow-white creature without any fur or hairs at all on its body flashes by. It has two deer antlers, with a deer’s skull making up its head, and a humanoid creature’s body starting from below its neck.
I ignore the pain to identify the creature before a grimace covers my face at the result.
This is one of the damn floor bosses!
The creature disappears again from my life sense within seconds of me identifying it.
Judging by its attacks, it seems to be a monster focused on speed, and not strength. Otherwise, the wounds would be a lot worse than they are right now. Especially with our level difference of almost thirty levels.
Maybe this will work…
I begin forcing the blizzard in the area to speed up whilst also creating more shards of ice and allowing it to cover my location as well to make it more difficult on the wendigo. Unfortunately, as I am doing this, the creature zips straight through my life sense again and rips another line of bloody streaks across my side before vanishing again without seeming to have any difficulties.

“Th-” I begin, only to end up coughing out a mouthful of snow and ice.
A sour look covers my face as I hold my side whilst healing the wound with the ice element around me.
I don’t think I can fight this boss right now… and it’s too high a level for my eternal ice to work on it.
As I’m thinking, the creature speeds through my life sense and rips through my armor into my skin underneath before disappearing again.
Well, this is fucked up.
I open my inventory before quickly grabbing the advanced escape orb from my inventory; the one that I got from the primal werewolf’s epic loot box a while back.
Without any hesitation, right as the wendigo enters my life sense’s range again, I activate the orb, causing a bright green flash of light to envelope me. Within seconds, the wendigo disappears from my life sense, and I open my eyes again to find myself still in a blizzard.
I use my ability to make a small area of breathing room around me before pulling large amounts of ice element from the blizzard to heal my wounds as I ponder over what just happened.
If I’m not mistaken, that wendigo straight up ignored the shards of ice within the blizzard, and I didn’t see any blood on it either.
Does that mean that it’s also immune to the cold element? Or is it just too strong for it to penetrate its skin?
Either way, there is no way that I can deal with the boss right now. Maybe after I reach level 439, which is when my eternal ice begins to work on it, but not before that.
As soon as I finish healing my wounds, I navigate through my menus to the System Forums to begin doing some research on primal wendigos.

“Oh?” Diane mutters with a hint of surprise showing on her face. “A primal wendigo this early on in the dungeon run?”
Leo, on the other hand, frowns at this new development from his place sitting next to Diane on the luxurious sofa. “This isn’t good.”
Diane glances at Leo for a moment before asking, “I’m assuming you’re worried about your little pupil?”

“Yes,” the frown on Leo’s face deepens as he nods his head, “I only just offered to teach the little forsaken a few days ago, and there is already a powerful threat to her life…”
A few seconds of silence pass as they both watch Wolf’s screen before Diane mutters, “I’m still surprised that you took an interest in a Competitor at all, outside of my pup that is.”
Leo glances at her before focusing on the screen showing Ruth as she charges through the blizzard with only a slight amount of discomfort on her face.
‘I am too,’ he thinks to himself without saying anything out loud or showing anything on his face.
Several minutes pass in silence before Wolf finally gets up from the ground and continues his way through the floor.
“I guess he has finished researching the flesh eaters,” Diane comments with a pensive look, “for now at least.”
Leo just nods his head in agreement without even glancing at Wolf’s screen as Ruth runs into a frostyl.

What the hell is a primal wendigo even doing on a floor this early on in the dungeon? From what I could find on the forums, it normally doesn’t make an appearance until the later floors past floor five hundred!
Surprisingly, a primal wendigo isn’t very closely related to a wendigo. Their differences range all the way from their appearance, their intellect, and even their strengths.
A primal wendigo is completely immune to ice element, just like I am. It has no natural-born manipulation or creation powers, but it has an extremely agile body, with a decent resistance to magic and other attacks.
Overall, a primal wendigo is an extremely fast tank. While it can obviously do damage, it isn’t much physically stronger than a human being.
That said, they don’t age as long as they continue eating flesh from any sort of creature.
As for a normal wendigo? They don’t have their immunity to ice element, but they do have a slightly stronger resistance to damage, including magic attacks, than the primal versions have. They also don’t have deer skulls as heads and have an appearance that is rather similar to a human.
Except with sharp fangs and glowing red eyes.
Wendigos also follow a very strict hierarchy in their tribes and kingdoms where they are obedient to a fault towards any wendigo that is a higher level than themselves. And they do age, unlike the primal wendigos. It’s just that they have human level intelligence, along with a strong desire to eat the flesh of other beings.
My thoughts are interrupted as I hear a loud howl from the distance, breaking through the loud roar of the blizzard.
“Oh?” I mutter with surprise before shifting into my wolf form and slowly making my way towards the source of the howl.
I have worked a lot on adjusting to this form over the past few days, with the help of the old man in the executive stream of course, but I still have quite a bit of difficulty with it.
That said, if this is a wolf monster, it might be interesting to see how it reacts to me in this form.
A few minutes pass by as I slowly make my way through the snowy plain towards the source of the howl before a life source enters my sensing range. The source is a bit smaller than me in my wolf form but would still be pretty big if I were in my neutral form.
Another howl suddenly echoes through the area from the direction of the life source before the life source charges in my direction.
As soon as the creature enters the little clearing around me that I made through my ability, I identify it with a light grin on my wolf face. If you can really consider it a grin.
