---Damian's Mother---
"So with this announcement we have been informed that once this System more fully integrates into our world we will begin having information directly placed within our minds allowing us more detailed information and access to certain features involving any loved ones within the Games that our benevolent Leaders have provided us for our entertainment. This will be involved, but not limited too, sending private messages once per week, spending currency to provide a more immediate aid for those lacking Followers, as well as letting them know they are in your thoughts..."
I turned the T.V off in a huff, ignoring the former President. He had given me the only information I needed, I could send a message to my baby once this...System was more prevalent in our World. Apparently, the Games themselves were the main window for it to access us, that and the original invasion. It didn't matter anymore. What mattered was that I could somehow help Damian when it happened now. "I need to go over everything financially..." I whispered to myself and got up to find my checkbook. He'd never forgive me if I broke myself helping him but what my boy didn't know wouldn't hurt him.
---Irene---
Hmmm. I tapped my fingernails in a quick staccato against my kitchen table before taking a sip of my coffee, a slow smile forming as I thought about the public announcement the former President had just given. Sending messages and items to 'loved ones' would make people more inclined to thank The System for this chance. I think it could be more useful in another way though, first I'd make sure dick-head knew it was over. The cheating fucker. Second, perhaps a reminder to Damian about just why he should take me back. I think I still have that lingerie he liked somewhere around here, I assumed it would allow some kind of picture sent.

---Spell Force Player---
"Shae! Take out that thing now!" I screamed, Bor had already fallen under the Orcs and the fucking Norcaine, Dark Elves, whatever they were fucking called. Jared was missing an arm, and Nightsong was completely MIA. I had been trying to take out the Orc threat to the Shaikan village after keeping it safe and now it was all going to shit.
Managing to fucking get through this hell, find someone I actually gave a damn about, and it was all going to end over something so monumentally stupid as a fucking crystal! I screamed my rage and defiance as the battle continued, as my friends, more real than my old world, fell around me to ax and blade and arrow. I continued to scream even as my own end came at the hand of a massive Orc that had been roaring just as hard.
---Yu-Gi-Oh Player---
Attention new Player, please select the card type of your deck and prepare for the tutorial game.
Of course, I just had to be chosen for fuckin Yu-Gi-Oh. At least I knew the fucking game after those three miss-spent years learning the damn thing front to back. I looked at the Decks available. Slim picking, there was a Trap Oriented one, Magic oriented one, and normal Monsters to start. I chose the Trap deck, may as well do what I do best and lull enemies into a sense of complacent abandon before making them cry.
Congratulations on selecting your starting deck! Please keep in mind that failing the Tutorial will end in your termination as a player, as it would in any card battle of importance. We wish you luck, and the chance to continue amussing the Lumerians stations on Earth.

Gaming on a MUD is difficult.
This is a story based on my characters background and journal that I played on a mud (Multi User Dungeon) over the course of several years. Dozens of people play a text based command line game at the same time. I figured I'd try to turn in into a story to see if anyone found it interesting. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. This is my first time so not very experienced. It is a story about how going into a multi player game expecting a typical RPG experience turns into something else because other players are involved.
