《Cloud Dungeon》Chapter 1

Slowly the vision of the little girl began to brighten after it had turned to complete darkness. She felt the small egg vanish from her hands and began to panic, but as her vision was restored she began to calm down.
“Misty! Misty!” She cried and as she looked around she began to take in the landscape.
She found herself on a small 3 meter in diameter rock and around this rock was about two more meters of white cloud. After that was just pure blue sky and after looking out from the clouds she could see the massive landscape below her.
This small island was currently floating more than 25 thousand meters within the stratosphere of the planet. Her small unnoticeable little cloud covered the small island and held it in the air as well.
“Wow…” She muttered in awe at how far up she was and how she could see in such great detail.
*Crack*
Hearing a small crack she jumped in the air. Her body was invisible like a ghost. She couldn’t see or even feel her body, but she could move around freely.
When she moved to the center of her island, she saw a small glowing cute pink crystal floating one meter above the ground and right in front of it on the ground was a rainbow egg that was shaking and slowly filling with cracks.
“Misty!” Dia shouted in joy and watched her best friend slowly break out. As it reached the peak of breaking, the shell burst like a balloon and a small figure slowly floated up in the light. Slowly a pair of wings opened and she stretched her little limbs as if waking from a nap.
The little figure was no more than the size of a palm (10 cm tall), she had dark brown hair, on her head was a pair of cat ears, she was naked and it was easy to spot the long cat tail on coming out just above her butt. On her upper back was a small pair of dragonfly wings. Another interesting feature is her golden colored eyes with cat slits giving her a cute mix.
“Misty!” Dia shouted and wanted to hug the cute fairy, but her body passed through it making her feel sad.
“Dia? Where are we?... Ah so that's it.” She muttered.
“What's it?” Dia asked confused.
“Don’t worry, those pretty ladies just taught me everything I needed to know.” Misty said. She looked around at this moment and was a bit startled and then began to think. “Wow Dia, you made the Goddesses make a different type of dungeon you know. We won’t be getting people visiting in a long time unless we lower the island to a height that some air mage can fly up.” Misty said.
“I didn’t want a dark place, Hmph!” Dia said crossing her arms.
“Anyway this island’s growth is really different, but no worry let's see…” Misty said and closed her eyes. “First off let's get your first monsters. Be careful because you have only one chance to choose it okay.” Misty warned me.
“Ah~! But I want a whole bunch of cute animals!” Dia complained.
“Now now, you can make them cute later but first we need to choose the most basic ones. They will help you build your dungeon as they are the weakest type of monsters or animals and soon they will adapt and evolve into monsters or you can change them as you like.” Misty said.

“Eh?” Dia muttered confused at all the complicated terms.
“Just don’t choose anything on impulse okay.” Misty said.
“Okay.” Dia said downhearted.
“Good.” Misty nodded and held her hand out as small particles of blue light began to gather and form a table.
Please choose your first Monster Race.
Warning you will only have one choice until you gather enough mana to obtain a second, but you can acquire wild animals and monsters if they willingly join you.
Goblin
A race of half sentient beings. They are half sentient and half monsters and still rank up and evolve like common monsters. They are short, green, rather ugly and have a fierce breeding rate.
Kobold
A race of humanoid beings that contain dragon blood. They are the lowest ranked beings from the dragon faction and are considered worker creatures.
They have dog heads and are covered in fur, but are intelligent enough that humans and sentient races don’t fight them because they are beastmen.
Wisp
A race of spirits. They have no intelligence and will wander around aimlessly where mana exists. In a dungeon they are useful for newborn dungeons with lots of hazards because they absorb mana in the air and create natural objects and expand the dungeon. If the air is polluted and you possess a specific type of wisp, they will even clean the air. They can evolve into other spirits with greater intelligence and even sentience.
Plant
Vegetation found anywhere on a living planet. They have no intelligence at the start and will grow off the mana in the air. Over time they will slowly form intelligence as they evolve.
Beast
Beasts refer to all types of animals. You can choose from rabbits, wolves, birds and any animal you know of.
Elemental
Elementals are beings made of mana of any type and can be found anywhere with a high concentration of mana. They breed slowly, but are the most beneficial workers for a dungeon in areas of high mana.
Dia looked confused at the list.
“Choose one?” Misty said.
“Um…” Dia muttered not knowing what to do. She didn’t know how to read well since she was still a four year old and only read some picture books, so she didn’t understand most of the words even when the system had long since added the world's languages to her vocabulary.
“Is something the matter?” Misty asked.
“I don’t understand what this says.” She said pointing shyly at the list.
Misty blinked and remembered the girl's age and wryly laughed before she began to read it to the girl.
After the cat girl fairy read the list to her, the girl's eyes fixed themselves on the Wisp, Plant and Beast options. Obviously they were the three things she wanted most. Wisps to make fairies, plants to make really beautiful flowers and beasts to make the cutest animals.
“Misty which should I choose?” She asked teary eyed since she wanted them all.
“I think the wisp, they are the safest one for us right now.” the fairy said.
Reluctantly the girl nodded and touched wisp.
You have chosen Wisp as your first race.
Due to being the one and only Cloud Dungeon you developed affinity for Wind, Water and Earth mana.
+20 Wind Affinity
+15 Water Affinity
+5 Earth Affinity
Due to three of the goddesses having accidentally killed you, they have chosen to present you with five of all basic wisps and you may choose a second race.

“Wow!” Misty shouted.
“What happened?” Dia asked confused. Misty told her the news, making the little girl smile. “Let's choose plant! I can’t get cute fairies without making a dress of flowers for them!” Dia said choosing plant.
You have chosen Plant as your second race.
Due to your still weak stature you can only summon, Weed, Lesser Healing Herb, Lesser Poison Herb and Thorn Bush.
Misty told Dia what plants she could grow making the girl frown.
“Don’t worry Dia, weeds grow really well and can evolve into anything and make big beautiful flowers if grown right.” Misty said.
This calmed the little girl a bit.
Finally after choosing everything, several flashes of light appeared over the small floating crystal and formed small balls. One set of five was green, another was blue, one was brown and the last was red.
“These are the wisps. An air wisp, a water wisp, a fire wisp and an earth wisp.” Misty explained.
Looking at them the girl thought they were cute. “What do they do?” She asked.
“Well you probably feel a tingly feeling in the air right?” Misty asked to which Dia nodded.
“Well their purpose is to gather that tingly feeling and making it an energy that you can use to make the dungeon big and cute. But…” Misty said and looked around.
The girl did as well trying to see what the fairy was seeing.
“The current place we are isn’t good for us to grow at this time. We can get big enough to make a small garden at best with what we will slowly gather, but nothing else here.” She explained.
“You want to move?” Dia asked.
“Yeah, just put in your mind, ‘I want to move with the flow of the wind.’ and we will start to move through the sky. Then think ‘Stop when you are in the middle of a mana spring.’” Misty said.
The little girl was confused, but closed her eyes and bunched up her metaphorical fists as she focused.
The dungeon started descending due to the area not possessing wind, but as soon as it touched the troposphere the dungeon stopped and began to ride on the very top most layer of the wind. All the while the wind on top of the dungeon remained calm and the wisps did not seem to move even when the small island was moving.
“That’s enough Dia!” Misty shouted as the little girl had not spoken in a while.
When the girl opened her eyes she noticed they were much closer to the ground now and was moving.
They had actually landed on one of the jet streams and were moving over 100 kilometers per hour, but there was a mysterious force that kept the wind within the dungeons domain calm while still dragging everything along.
“Good, now tell the green and blue ones to go make clouds and tell the brown ones to gather under this cute little crystal and make a small hole.” Misty said.
“Why?” Dia asked.
“Clouds are made of wind and water and we need to form a pond because we need to store your mana which is that tingly feeling. It will slowly drip out as a small liquid from this little crystal that is super important that nothing ever take.” Misty said.
“Okay.” Dia said and looked at the water and wind wisps and ordered them to make clouds.
The wisps began to float around aimlessly, but after a moment they gathered at the perimeter of the clouds and slowly their bodies moved around before they slowly submerged into the clouds and appeared again.
The brown ones then slowly came over at her order. They began to eat away at the ground and then move to the edge of the little stone island before depositing the dirt there. After a short while, a small hole 10 cm deep and 30 cm in diameter was formed. They began to work feverously making edges, lifting up the edges and hardening it as if it was a small wall from a fountain. It solidified and turned into white stone slowly, but it was still really small.
When they were done, they got near the crystal where a small puff of brown energy came from a wisp and entered the crystal causing Dia to feel a jolt.
All of them did that and then slowly a small drop of brown water came from the crystal and dropped into the fountain.
“Good job Dia. Now tell them to gather earth mana in the air and deposit it in you.” Misty instructed.
“Why did I feel that sting?” Dia asked teary eyed.
“It’s okay it's okay, you just felt mana. It’s that tingly feeling. You didn’t have any in your body, but now you need to slowly gather it so that you can make a big strong island.” Misty said desperately trying to calm down the girl.
“Mn…” Dia nodded and gave the order to the wisps.
“Do the same to the fire wisps. They will have a harder time, but as they gather more fire mana the air in your dungeon will slowly become more comfortable for other creatures and when you have enough, moss will naturally form.” Misty said.
“I don’t want moss, I want flowers.” Dia complained.
“I know. You can plant a small blade of weed and it will spread through the little land we have. It might even attract a bird or a bug. Who knows, maybe we might get fireflies to watch.” Misty said.
The little girl's expression brightened up as she listened on how to summon the plant. The little pond had slowly gathered the naturally gained beginner mana she had for her first summons. Aiming at a piece of land on her island, she planted five blades of weed and two of each of her other plants. The thorn bushes were placed at the edge of the little rock and the rest on the inside, but far from her little pond especially the weeds.
The earth wisps were told to make a small 10 cm deep circle, 30 cm away from the pond so as to not allow plants into the space and invade the pond. She then told Dia to have one water wisp to slowly generate water into this hole and have the earth wisps slowly develop tiny waterways so that little streams fed the ground and the plants could survive. Like this a small sky garden began to form.

An Extra-Ordinary Story about Ordinary People
In a different world, a different reality, where ordinary people occasionaly have extra-ordinary powers for no particular reason, we follow a number of characters, trying their best to live in this strange yet normal world. We have our first character, a currently nameless but sentinent creature who happened to find himself in the body of a strange fungus after an unknown incident that robbed him of not only his former body but of his memory, as well. Secondly, we follow Smith, a high-standing man who doesn't even need to explain which Smith he is, on top of the world, yet human enough to meet said fungus. And thirdly, we have another nameless character, who is burdened by the ability to summon things that he doesn't want. A charming gang, who will (most likely) meet at some point. --- All and all, it's a twist on the common super-hero world, where all super-heroes have somehow dissappeared, but not the possibility for new ones. The series that feature the mushroom-dude are the 123 ones, the stories that feature Smith are the ABC ones, and the ones that feature our newest character, the summoner-dude, are the abc ones. Neat, huh? Also, just a word of warning? The 123 ones are kind wierd, and you can skip the first few chapters and go straight to the ABC ones without missing too much. But I'd rather you didn't, since i really enjoyed writing them. In ABC and abc, the format changes to a more typical form, with proper grammar and stuff. So if you dont like the 123, I'd love it if you gave the ABC a chance :^) Anyhow, I hope you enjoy it!
