Thank you to everyone that took the time to read the story thus far, especially those of you who supported it as Patrons or took the time to leave a review.
I will no longer be updating Warlock’s Gate on Royal Road. I am transitioning chapters from here to my CoRW WordPress Page and I will continue updating chapters on Patreon until the end of the month.
If I had to give a reason, it's that the story isn’t earning enough to warrant the time that I’ve invested into it. I still plan on writing it, it’s a heck of a story, but it will be a part-time thing purely for pleasure (until I have more free time) and for those who wish to continue to read it via my CoRW Patreon page. https://www.patreon.com/vera_anne_wolf
However, the biggest reason I am no longer uploading Warlock’s Gate on Royal Road is because the audience here has honestly smothered my enjoyment of writing this story. I enjoy every creative aspect of writing Warlock’s Gate right up until I upload it to Royal Road for people to tear apart for free. Hell, the negativity has even leaked over into my other writing project CoRW so, at this point, I’ve had enough.
This is a rough draft, and while I appreciate feedback, I’m not rewriting the entire system because people can’t handle how my percentages or health work. Or that there are “too many character PoVs” which is the second most common complaint after my use of percentages.
I tried something different that I am still intrigued to see if I can make it work. However, Royal Road has proven NOT to be the place for that kind of exploration and experimentation. The constant negativity, nitpicking, and anonymous low rating have been non-stop since I got to the first page of Rising Stars, and I’m just sick of it.

Author's Note: (As of November 20, 2021) I rewrote all the chapters perhaps more than a year ago, but haven't announced that I did so. Because that kind of announcement would include something along the lines of, "I'm working on the story so expect new chapters!" But the truth is, I lack motivation to do anything.
