《Endless cage (Dropped)》Special chapter: Taming the rabid beast

Phew...
Looks like I got the timing just perfectly.
Now all that's left is to watch...
I situate myself on a random roof and watch as the wolf and the kid confront each other.
Hopefully she can kill her.
If she does, the obstacle will be gone and I will be left with my strongest pawn yet.
The wolf started by shooting a blast of dark mana at the kid.
"Whoa what are you doing?!"
...and it dispersed like nothing.
Who the hell is that kid anyway?
She even fully resisted my control.
Ridiculous...
My thoughts are cut off by an agonizingly loud screeching sound as some houses behind the kid get cut into pieces.
I shudder at the sheer destructive power of my new pawn.
...but even scarier is the fact that she dodged it.
How did she even see it coming?
"I see...
So that's how it is...
Excuse me, I will have to get a little rough with you."
?!
What was that chill I just felt?
That kind of killing intent...
Ugh...
Dammit, I so want to get out of here, but I can't!
The wolf then stops dead in her tracks.
As if something paralyzed her.
"There...
Don't worry I will be done soon."
The kid slowly walks up to her.
This is bad!
She needs to break free from whatever is holding her.
I sent the command to the parasite.
'Break free at any cost.'
And it was answered sooner than I expected.
The wolf literally blew up.
It was an explosion of dark mana that pushed her opponent back.
She also seemed to be surprised by that.
When the smoke settled, the wolf seemed angrier than ever.
Perfect.
"...
You are the first one to break free from that.
Not even Terra could do that.
Just how much stronger did you get since you were a kid?"
Of course, since my parasite took over her for the most part, she didn't answer.
She only growled and stared daggers at her.
And then, she pulled a massive sword out of nowhere and disappeared.
Her speed was way too quick for me to fully follow.

But despite that, her attack was deflected.
And not just her attack, her entire body was flung to the side.
The kid then jumped back to gain some distance again.
"Damn...
Doing this without hurting you too much might be harder than I thought.
I might have to get serious."
After these words, something terrifying happened.
All of the mana in the air started to move.
It's as if all of the world's mana was hers to command.
I want to get away, I want to get away, DAMMIT!
Who did you make me hunt down, god?!
Both the wolf and the kid started floating.
Of course, my pawn wouldn't give up on attacking.
She continued throwing all kinds of dark and fire spells at her opponent, but all of them dispersed when they got near their target.
"Calm down already!"
The winds converged above the wolf forming a massive ball of pressurized air and fell on her with a tremendous force.
I could feel the shockwave even all the way here as the roof tiles rattled.
That was insane...
But she isn't done yet.
She can still fight back!
Come on!
Get up!
Before the dust even settled, the kid flew straight at her while extending her arm.
However, that was a fatal mistake.
Just before she could touch her, the wolf swung her claws at her, aiming for the neck.
But even that surprised attack was dodged and only her arm was cut off.
The arm flew upwards as she jumped back to gain distance once again.
At the same time, the air between them erupted, pushing them away from each other.
...finally she got some damage in.
But she looks so beat up already.
She can't win this...
"Tch...
I might actually have to kill you at this rate!
At least try to resist its control a bit!"
And as I thought...
She knew about me.
How?
...
Shit!
I will have to kill both of them and book it.
'Use your most powerful spell!'
I don't even know what it will be.
But I don't expect anything nearby will survive.
The wolf drew a magic circle out of her blood and started pouring an absurd amount of mana into it.

"Wha-
STOP!"
Even the kid started panicking and ran to her.
Meanwhile, I turned around and leaped away.
I needed to get as far as possible before-
An explosion.
An ear-shattering shockwave swept me up.
I darted through the air and crashed into a wall.
It hurt, but I didn't mind that.
It was because as soon as I looked back toward the battlefield, I saw something terrifying.
A huge black object spreading all across the sky, blocking out the sun.
No, it was all elemental mana.
But it was so densely packed, that it appeared pure black.
...
The parasite didn't die...
Nor did the wolf!
What happened?!
I couldn't run away now.
I had to go back!
Dammit!
Although reluctantly, I dashed back to observe the battlefield.
And there, I saw it.
All of the mana initially flew toward the kid, but then curved and went upwards.
But the kid somehow redirected it toward the sky?!
HOW?!
THAT'S JUST LUDICROUS!
WHO THE HELL IS THAT KID?!
A few moments later, the stream of mana stopped and the wolf dropped down.
...
But so did the kid.
They were both breathing heavily while fully covered in sweat.
This is it!
This is my chance!
Tch, but it's so dangerous to get near!
Dammit!
As I looked around in panic, I noticed there were many more observers than just me.
Among other insignificant insects, there was the hero and the demon lord with confusion and terror on their faces.
That's...
PERFECT!
I can just take over the demon lord again and finished her off!
Hahaha!
Thanks for showing up!
I jumped from roof to roof to get closer to them.
Meanwhile, I released the wolf from my control and prepared to take over someone else.
Victory was within my reach.
...
And that was when a chill went down my spine and all of my fur stood on its end.
"Found you..."
When I turned my head to the battlefield, I saw her.
Her eyes were looking straight at me.
It was the stare of death.
All of my instincts yelled at me to get away.
ABORT!
THIS MISSION IS A FAILIURE!
I jumped off of the roof into the shadows and bolted away.
The only thing on my mind was to get as far away as possible.
...
But as I ran, the winds around me started going into all directions.
Small tornadoes formed and I did my best to dodge them.
And then, 'it' landed in front of me.
A little human girl with tattered clothes and only one arm.
Her eyes full of bloodlust were staring at me.
The sweat on her body reflected what little light could pass through the dark veil above us.
That was what death looked like to me.
My movement was frozen.
I couldn't move.
"There you are...
You little pest."
NO!
FUCK!
HELP ME!
GOD HELP ME!
Her one arm slowly stretched toward me.
It was the end for me.
I couldn't do anything.
...
But then, the scenery around me warped.
I fell to the side, then up, then down again.
The hand, that was right in front of me, was warped and eventually disappeared.
And in a few moments, the world finally took on a shape again.
I landed on the ground, confused.
Wha-
What just...
As I looked around, I noticed where I was.
A cavern of sorts, with a big crystal in the middle.
...my birthplace?
Why am I...?
"Hmm..."
A voice came out from the crystal.
Soon enough, 'he' appeared in it.
"You got really close...
Too bad..."
His expression wasn't the carefree smile I was used to.
He seemed unusually serious.
"But I won't just let you die...
You can still be useful after all."
Two allies turned on each other.
How cliché...
Well, at least it didn't drag on for too long, right?
I hate unnecessarily drawn out battles...
Some people like it though, I guess?
And it made the chapter quite a bit shorter, which sucks...
Well, there are downsides to everything.
...
Sorry, I have to do play both sides of the argument this time.
My usual 'partner' is a little busy you see...

Life of a Core
After a disembodied voice had told him he was what amounted to an exceptionally talented rock, it had been hard to not let it go to his non-existent head. Until, random chance had decided to give him a square kick in the minerals. Which had in turn forced him to fend for himself in an unknown land, all while he attempted to make sense of his place in the world. Truthfully though, all he had really wanted to do from the start had been to bury himself a hundred feet below the ground and be left to his own devices. Yet, for one reason or another, nobody ever seemed willing to leave the dungeon-building core alone long enough to actually make one. Each chapter will average around two to three thousand words, the release schedule is still a WIP but you should expect the first six chapters to be released over the next six days. This is planned out as a dungeon building fiction, but don't expect it right off the bat! The story is a depiction of the everyday adventures (alongside an overarching plot) of what I imagine a dungeon core would experience when thrust into a random environment where everything and everyone tried to covet or eat him. I also really enjoy reading the comments and reviews people leave and would love to get some reader involvement with the story itself, likely through polls at the end of each chapter. I hope you enjoy my story! (If you feel like some of the characters seem familiar, you may have read some older work I wrote a while back under a different account. If you happen to be one of my old readers and recognize the similarities, I'm happy to have you back!)

The Egg Guardian
First and foremost, I must apologize as this story is currently on an indefinite hiatus. School, my main project, and writer's block have gotten in the way. I was rather unprepared when I began posting this and kind of just did it on a whim. Thus, I shall ensure I am thoroughly prepared before posting anything else, but I plan to return to this someday to conitnue it. What better retirement plan for a scumbag than to become a demon? Whether he likes it or not, that's Berrick's only choice. Heaven thinks hell is getting a little lukewarm and Berrick is just the guy to heat things up again. Follow Berrick as he works for home and hell as one of the few Egg Guardians. Author's note: Are you looking for bad writing, terrible dialogue, short chapters, and slow releases? Then you've come to the right place! This is honestly just something I'm writing for fun and figured I'd publish while I'm working on my main project, but I always appreciate constructive criticism so I can improve. Picture obtained on google.
