Warning: This chapter contains a more than usual amount of swearing.
"YOU!"
Staring at the dark corner in my room, I call out to the bastard.
"Yes?"
However, the voice comes from behind me.
As I turn around, I spot nobody there.
"You lied to me!
You said it would be easy!"
"And it was easy, wasn't it?"
This time, his voice resounds from both my left and right side.
"You...you knew this would happen, didn't you?!"
"Well, not really...
I actually thought you wouldn't mess it up like that."
As the voice's source keeps changing, I clench my fist and grit my teeth.
"Who do you think you are talking to?!
I messed up?
It was all your plan!"
In a fit of rage my fist hits the table.
"And my plan included KILLING all of the beastmen.
Not selling some of them to the black market.
It's your own fault for being too greedy."
"You bastard!
Show yourself and talk to me like a man!"
"Hahaha...
You're so pathetic.
Well, there's other stuff I have to do.
So byebye and good luck!"
"GET BACK HERE!
YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"
As my intense gaze lands all over the room, I realize he really left.
That prompts me to kick the chair with my full strength.
"FUCK!"
The chair I kicked crashes into a bookshelf, which makes several books fall out of it.
...shit...
What do I do?
|= ??? =|
"But that would lose us even more money than we-"
My fist hitting the table interrupts the man in front of me.
"Shut up!
Just do it!"
"...Aren't you just overreacting?
How big of a problem could it be?"
What is this?
When did this one get so rebellious?

"...I can make you disappear as well, you know?
You think you have some immunity just because you were here longer than most?"
Noticing my stare, his body jolted and a drop of sweat appeared on his head.
"I-I'm sorry boss!
I'll get on it right away!"
The idiot then sprints out of the room and closes the door behind him.
...
Sigh...
It's not like he wasn't right...
This whole ordeal will turn into a huge money sink now.
But at least the evidence will be gone.
If we kill all of these remaining enslaved beastmen, it will be impossible to track it back to us.
But with them still alive...
There is the danger of her meeting them and getting her memories back.
If that happens, she will seek revenge...
And I won't let that happen.
Getting up from my desk, I walk over to the bookshelf and search through it.
After a little while, I find the book titled 'It's still alive'.
I squint my eyes at it as my thoughts wander into the past.
It has been almost three hundred years now...
But I still can't forget that feeling of terror I felt at that time.
This new monster probably isn't as extreme as that one...but it's still clearly dangerous.
...
Shit...
How did it come to this?
|= ??? =|
Her uncle...
You can't be serious...
This couldn't get any worse.
Some spies from the Armundis kingdom found that monster's uncle.
And now they are transporting him to their capital.
Shit...
I can't let him meet her.
But to assassinate him, I have to do it without leaving any traces.
And I'm running out of funds to hire a skilled assassin like that...
...shit...
SHIT!!
"Ah...so funny..."
The familiar voice resounds from the corner of my room.

"YOU?!"
Hearing that voice again made me boil with rage.
It's that bastard who entangled me into this.
"Oh, sorry...
I didn't mean to reveal myself.
It's just so funny..."
"You asshole!"
"Ah man...didn't expect this to be so fun when I started with it."
This bastard...
He never intended to help me.
It was always just a game for him.
"What is even your goal?!
To make me suffer?!
To humiliate me?!"
After that, silence overtook the room.
It took several seconds for him to answer.
"...well, you are not entirely incorrect.
But don't be so self-important.
Just to make YOU suffer?
Why would I aim so low?"
So that WAS it?
His goal is to make me suffer?
What is this bastard even talking about?
"Hmm, I guess you can't help it now...
Well, see you around!
Hope you make this even more fun!"
"YOU!
PIECE...of..."
...
He is gone again...
Fuck...

8 579Double-Blind: A Modern LITRPG
Choosing a college when your family is struggling can be difficult, but it isn’t supposed to be world ending. And the falling meteor is seriously limiting Matt’s options. Now in the aftermath, his home city is locked down by a mysterious dome, corporations are looking to monopolize a wealth of new untapped resources, and people are suddenly developing powers via a system that seems to have borderline sinister intentions. In the chaos, he decides to stick to what he knows: stay out of the spotlight, grind, and survive. Watch as Matt is dragged into a dark LITRPG set in the real world, where the price of failure is death, and the prize for winning is beyond his wildest dreams. ++++++++++++++++++ There’s a couple big influences here: Solo-Leveling, Squid Game, and Code Geass. If you enjoy LITRPG stories with morally gray characters, high stakes, and smart protagonists who start weak and eventually become powerful in a unique way, you’ll probably find something to like. But be forewarned. It won’t be easy. I'll be writing this fast, so keep in mind there's likely to be typos that we'll correct as we go. Developmental Editing by Lev.
8 516Storm of the Elementals
The apocalypse was something that people were expecting to happen sooner or later, rising sea levels and everything. What our protagonist didn't expect was it to be from a system, let alone the fact that he missed it. Waking up as an elemental and being given frighteningly little info from a system that seemed a little off , stuck with 3 other eccentric individuals that he could almost swear are a bit dodgy, and not being quite sure he was human anymore, it was the start of a long day. It only got longer when he found out he was moved to a whole different world. ~ This is a slow burn story, focusing on the world and what happens if an eccentric historian gets transported in a world with systems and power that are not quite meant for him. ~ Some things you can expect: -No harem, god no. -Yes the protagonist is strong, no he isn't completely OP. -Other people who have been changed, he isn't the only special or chosen one who got transported or messed with. -It is sad to actually have to put this here, but the main character does shockingly have common sense.
