List one: Possible Holdouts

Holdouts will be divided into two categories, each with subsets

The first category consists of general Holdouts, working with every possible set of gear and independent of it. Examples would be grenades or hand-carried weapons with low recoil

Holdouts of this category could possibly be sold

Subsets of this category are sellable weapons and unsellable weapons

The second category consists of gear-dependent Holdouts, Holdouts that work in a specific gear set or are an integral part of it. Examples would be the railgun that can only be used with sufficient recoil absorption or the plasma-cannon that was built to be used in armour.

Subsets of this category are divided by armour-set

1) an undercover armour-set, usable with everyday wear and undetectable,

2) a stealthy armour-set, giving me a balance between stealth and combat-power,

3) the current power-armour, optimized for battle against other Powered or similar threats like the scourge

4) overkill-armour, sets of armour so over-designed and over-the-top that they should be shown in a Sci-Fi movie. Because, there is no such thing as overkill

Possible variants, tank, jet-fighter, mecha-suit, hovertank, spacesuit - further research required and most likely not generally feasible

Category 1, general Holdouts

sellable weapons: at this point, none, testing required

unsellable weapons, research required:

1) Air-taser, small plastic projectile, two prongs as contacts, add in a capacitor and a battery, shoot the result with either a spring-loaded or air-powered mechanism, discharge of the power on impact - should work at a few meters distance, depending on the projectile and the launching mechanism, useless against most powered, even thick clothing could block it. But cheap and generally useful

2) True Air-Taser, most likely Category 2 Holdout - research mechanism of ionized air-generation used on 29.05. aka. Scourge Invasion, possibilities to use as a personal weapon to project a electric current through the air itself. If a gullible Hero can do it, so can I!

3) Glue-Grenades or Web-Grenades, need a two-component plastic with a tendency to form long, sticky strings, one component under pressure in the center, second component into the mantle, after timer release the inner component and use the pressure to spread the result, ensnaring those under it - completely dependent on the plastic, can work great or not at all. Bonus if biodegradable after a few hours.

4) Hook-shot, possible category 2 holdout, usage depending on the hook, everything else simple. Add hook to thin line, possibly carbon-fibre or even nano-tubular carbon, shoot the hook with air or spring-power, possibly even with electromagnetic mechanism, use electro motor to reel the line in. As long as hook is solid the user gets taken up. Possible problems: hook is questionable, stress on one arm is possible problem, but should be endurable as long as the speed is not too high

5) Chemical weapons - possibility of improving pepper spray or mace? small nozzle, propell under pressure, should be highly useful against anyone not prepared with a strong enough mask, bonus points against anyone with heightened senses

-knockout-gas? non-lethal variant would be a possibility but most are too lethal for consideration

-laughing gas? heavier than air, might be useful for room-clearing

-Consider as payload for 6

possibility of crystallization for knockout-drugs to use as needle-projectiles?

6) assorted grenades - smoke bombs, flash grenades, gas grenades (see 5)

7) improved zip-ties or shackles, possibly adding some sort of electro-deterrence

8) lethal last resort weapon, possibly a normal firearm with beefed up penetration, caliber, recoil-reduction

Category 2)

Variant 1)

normal, sturdy clothing, non-armour

possibly decorative bracelets as carrier for equipment

necessary equipment to integrate in bracelets:

taser, both contact and air

pepper spray, propelled via pressure

direct connector for computers, possibly various connector-plugs

lockpicks, two sets (one semi-hidden the other very well hidden)

Hoodie out of armoured cloth, longer hood with receptacle for mask

Pants out of armoured cloth

solid boots, possibly with a variant of the jump-booster used in Variant 3

possibly the exo-frame for extra strength and speed, esp. if hookshot does not work out

HUD-Mask, similar to Variant 3, connected to Galatea

weapon-gloves, similar to the gloves of Variant 3,

integrated with pepper spray, taser, air-taser, possibly true air-taser, flash-capacitors, possibly hook-shot, servos to crush things in my grip, possibly claws

Variant 3)

current armour and dependent equipment is sufficient additional maintenance required

channel research-time into Variants 1 and 2,

possible extra-gear:

Wings!? flight should be achievable with jet-turbines, possible problems, noise, stearing, landing!!!!!, changing air-profile (lock up armour?)

bigger rail-gun? current rail-gun is overkill but bigger might be better - research better recoil-reduction, research higher rate of fire

Light-Saber? Should be achievable, even if mostly useless. Containment field for low-pressure plasma, add in energy to excite it, essentially a neon-lamp without the tube - could be added as a gag into a hand-held plasma-cutter,

Possible Variants for 4)

Brainstorming

Tank - possible but pointless

Hover-Tank - Harder to built but with advantages, needs a lot of armour to be worthwhile, most likely not truly feasible

Jet-fighter - practical usage could be integrated into V3 with wings, missiles are easy and plausible, but it would mostly be used as transport. even theoretical propulsion-tech can’t keep up with flight-ability of Hermes-Powerset and similar sets, thus useful as an add-on, not useful for stand-alone usage without a lot of research

Mecha-suit - little added useability, slightly higher defense, fire-power and strength against being a bigger target, worse maneuverability and worse steering

Space-suit - similar to Jet Fighter, but with the added caveat, what on earth would I want in space? Sure, flying up to say ‘I’ve been there’ but else? Build propulsion via accelerated plasma and it should work

Extra-Idea: Gunship?

Combination of Hover-Tank and Jet-fighter, large enough to carry its own fusion-generator with the necessary equipment to run it. Scale up Plasma-Cannon and Railgun, add in classical close-defense weapons on naval ships. Possible usage would be Scourge Attacks and the time when I want to annoy a country.

Problem, purely vectored thrust, making it in effect a flying brick

List two: Self-Improvement: Scientist Style

Engineering solutions:

Two worthwhile ideas

1) improvement of cardiovascular system via strengthening of blood-vessels

specific formula to accelerate cell-growth has already been demonstrated in pyre-sacrifice, tuning it to only accelerate the growth of a specific type should be feasible

Research could provide possible accelerated healing if damaged areas are injected with substance

problems: possible heart-failure, possible cancerous growth all over the body - proceed with caution

2) integration of subdermal mesh around the upper body-area, to reduce penetration into vital areas

problematic installation and little help against blunt damage or any attack that hit a piece of clothing made from the armoured cloth, additionally it is a clearly foreign artifact within my body. Biological improvements can be explained away, mechanical not so much

discarded ideas

metal bones - sounds great in fiction, but most bones don’t really matter, sure a broken arm is not good but it’s far from a life-threatening injury. Problems can occur if the broken bone damages blood vessels, thus idea 1)

However, blood production would have to be outsourced and the few truly important bones (cranium, vertebrae) that protect something vital would have to be replaced without killing or crippling myself in the process - highly unlikely to succeed, without extensive human trials

-I don’t want the label Mengele.

artificial muscles - sounds great in fiction, would possibly help as a cushioning material

Problem: mapping of neural system to the new muscles

would require replacement of almost half my body-mass

supplying of energy to artificial muscles

-very little gain in the serious combat-modes, if it was at all possible, with huge disadvantages

Genetic Modification

Current theory claims that Powered are genetically not different from other humans and energy consumption is concurrent with that, energy used in powers has to come from somewhere else (meaning Gabby, the Goddess of the Gaps)

Research plan, modify existing genes with blue-prints from different species or high-performance humans, CRISPR/Cas? - reflexes of a mongoose? strength of a gorilla or chimp? better senses?

Animal Kingdom has those, why not use them? -Research required, likely long term

-Little Red Riding Metis- Red cloak with hood, simple mask, armed with an air-powered shotgun shooting air-tasers, no clawed gauntlets, tying up downed foes with rope and possible rocks?

-Angel-Metis with a Shotgun - Similar to previous, white cloak with embroidered wings, halo and mask - write scripture about repentance on the ties used to tie up foes - add in grapple-hook if possible so the angel can fly in from the sky

-Darth Metis - Black Cloak with cowl, mask set to mist of darkness, add in fake light-saber. only possible if true air-taser works out, can be integrated in the gloves and looks ‘right’

-Darkwing Metis - Dark Purple cloak, black mask, maybe a duck-bill, purple sombrero. smoke-bombs, air taser, hook-shot

-Pokétrainer Metis - add baseball cap, normal face-mask, only if Glue-grenades work, make glue grenades into apple-sized balls, one hemisphere red, the other while, black equator and trigger on the equator, maybe add in a shoulder-mounted true air-taser in the form of a yellow rodent
