It was a room that could be described with two words: simple, and open. Well, it was clean too, but only so many references can be made in a chapter, so it’s better to keep them down.

Despite it’s simplicity the room was rather on the massive size, and there was a banquet table running through the center of the room fit for a giant. Good thing too, it was Raften’s table. The table, that could have fit twenty plus people, was only just big enough for him alone. Crimson and his party of five were sitting at a smaller circular table, just off center of the room.

At the table with him was Verity, ****, ********, and ****. It was a rare opportunity for the five of them to just sit down and relax. Even ******** was more relaxed and smiling. The same could be said for **** who could only be counted on to smile on a regular basis if they had just taken down a particularly difficult fight.

For once, Verity had set her teasing sights on **** instead of him. Sherry approached with a glass of sherry and greeted them, but couldn’t stay long because Raften stood up and made a simple opening speech. Blah, blah, blah, and ended by saying the words that it was clear that he himself was waiting to say, “Let’s eat!”

At once, a bunch of giant turkey’s walked in carrying turkeys. While most of them were the size Crimson was used to seeing, Raften’s was much bigger. Clearly, one of the turkeys hadn’t stepped back fast enough when volunteers were asked for.

The cannibalistic trend continued with giant, anthropomorphic potatoes carrying in the mashed potatoes, and so on. He did get a little worried when the cranberries came bouncing in like slimes, but his fears were unfounded, as they didn’t spill a single drop. Okay, there must be something wrong with physics on that one.

He glanced at his party members to see if anyone else was concerned, but no dice. Verity and ******** were too busy fighting, again. **** found the whole thing hilarious and was giggling happily. **** was too busy tearing into his Turkey.

Wait a sec. when did he steal the entire Turkey?! He’d eaten most of it too! How? HOW???

Well, it didn’t matter, too much. The giant turkeys had noticed their plight and were clearly eager to assist in the extinction of their species because they brought three more over to Crimson’s table.

He glanced over and noted that Sherry’s table were eating their meal in the idyllic, thanksgiving commercial way. It didn’t even look artificial!

Well, no matter, he didn’t need anything perfect. His friends were great, they helped him, supported him, and they helped him bring untold pain and misery to every dungeon they visited. He couldn’t ask for anything better.

And that, was the true meaning of Christmas.
