《How I Met Your Monster》About your Blogger

Hello, dear readers.
Silas here. I've realized that I give you a quick mock up of dates before I go on them, and do a lot of descriptions of them and the dates, but you may not know me all that well.
First and foremost, my name is Silas Donovan. That much is clear. I have always had a fascination with the monsters we live alongside. My best friend growing up was a gargoyle, and we used to get into all sorts of crazy situations.
As I've brought up in an interview, I always wanted to be a hero. Not like a super hero or anything, but an adventurer. Exploring dungeons, saving those who need it, standing up for what is right. I took some sword fighting lessons growing up, but it didn't really pan out. Most schools don't push for adventuring like they used to. The monsters that used to attack humans are now our neighbors. But I always thought that it would be fun.
My obsession with monsters never went away. I've often gotten mean looks on the bus when a creature I haven't gotten to see before gets on and I find myself staring in awe. I surrounded myself with other students who were monsters rather than other humans. This always left me on the outcast side of things, but my real friends never cared that I was a human.
I soon decided that if I wasn't able to become an adventurer, I would find a way to have a career doing something involving monsters. I completely stumbled into journalism, and after a series of boring sports reporting, finally got the break I needed when an all werewolf fire department formed. I was able to ride along with them and talk to see what made them different than a standard human fire department. My boss luckily loved it, and before I knew it, I was the go-to guy for monster related stories.

I met Astrid while working for that paper. We had a solid relationship for a year before we both realized we weren't right for each other. We parted way amicably, but I started to realize that maybe love just wasn't for me. I threw myself into my work, finally gaining attention on a national level for my writing. I was pulled to a bigger company, where I got to report on some of the coolest things I've ever heard of, let alone seen first hand.
And then I got canned. It sucked.
I freelanced for a bit. Finding my own stories and sending them into my old job for a commission. They were happy to have me on board, but understood that I couldn't come back full time. I was living commission to commission before a random email I sent out once got answered.
Unhinged offered me a once in a lifetime experience. To be the first human on the app in an attempt to bridge the gap between humans and monsters. I jumped on it and here we are. It's going very well. I've met a lot of people already, most of which I still keep in contact with. I have a wonderful partner in Vexys to help me with interviews and I promise I'll start giving her better assignments.
I just wanted to quickly introduce myself properly, since I never did before.
Until next time.
