《A Mediocre Supreme Cultivator》Spectator's Seat

'HAHA...Haha...haaaa... ha shit, he's mad. That's a lot of killing intent.'
"Will Fang Hu be able to overcome Long Dong. Both of these young'uns are at the peak of early stage Qi Gather cultivation. Both of them have the skills. To. Pay. The. Bills! None of our other early stage cultivators would be able to touch these two young men! Fang Hu has proven that time and time again, BUT CAN HE GO ALL THE WAY!?"
'Again, is he a chief or an announcer?'
'... He does make a point, that Long Dong is harder than anything I've ever faced. *snort* Seriously though, can I face him?'
The sheer amount of confidence and bloodlust radiating off of Long Dong shook Fang Hu. He knew that, in the books, people slaughtered others for the most minor besmirchment, but this was his first time experiencing it. Would Wo-Kong do this if the system wasn't monitoring his speech? Our hero was out of his wits, Hu was in major culture shock, he just came from a world with violence being so low that a majority of people fooled themselves into thinking that people would never kill, unless they're a psychopath or under extreme circumstances. Here, thousands of people had died for getting dirt on the wrong person's robe.
If not for the sudden burst of emotions from the crowd and the boiling over of Dong's rage, Hu would have missed the starting signal. As it was, his martial arts instinct took over twisted his entire body and leaped back. It seemed like this would be hard-fought battle either way. In Fang Hu's heart of hearts, this settled the matter again, he was going to head straight to a city and hide out in a place with a lot of books.

The crowd had gone crazy watching the battle take place. It is not every day that the tribe could see it's cultivators go all out. The two had gone at it for over a minute now, but were not slowing in the slightest. Ever since the scholar had dramatically twisted his entire body like a snake to avoid the two savage blades of wind sent forth by the shaman, the scholar had been on the defensive. Everyone here knew of the shaman's strength, a shaman's cultivation and techniques were said to only be second to the elder's. Every time Dong swiped and jabbed with his staff, a gale of wind accompanied it. The wind was enough to shred a man if connected. The protective formation around the stands shook with each blow. Yet it was not enough to bring Hu down.
Every time Long Dong struck out, his movements blurred, becoming much faster. Phantom strikes had been trying to distract Fang Hu in the beginning, but stopped shortly as they seemed to have no effect. Indeed, none of Long Dong's attacks had been successful. Every time he brought his staff down, he would feel the presence of a snake and almost everyone present would see Fang Hu's arms transform into snakes and curl around his opponent's staff and arms and either divert the blow away from himself or bite down upon him. They however, could not penetrate the shaman's shield of wind.
Everyone in the crowd seemed to think this was an even match, however this was not the case in the elder's circle. The circle was hidden from the outsider and the crowds. It would take a foundation establishment elder to see through the privacy formation, and for all that Fang Hu was, he wasn't that. Five people sat in the elder's circle, with each of them in the foundation establishment stage, the force assembled here could level mortal cities. These people are part of the Northern Tribal Union, which the Pheasant's Tail Tribe was a part of. As the Tribe only had around 16,000 mortals and several hundred cultivators, it was certainly a smaller tribe, but it lacked much pull with the union, as they had to split into a main camp and several smaller camps, due to the harsh landscape.

The Elders were here due to investigating supposed core formation activity in the area. This whole tourney was organized to give the elders a chance to verify Fang Hu's statements. If he was truly an exile from a remote scholarly sect, then the case would be solved, and they could leave. If they determined he was lying, they would simply kill him for wasting their time.
"I say, that young man has done well with his dao, for his age." ?
"Bah! He isn't anything special, my disciple would be able to take him with one arm!" ??
"Quiet down, ya old geezer, you're gonna make my ear bleed. Besides, he isn't supposed to be anything special, he was apparently a low level disciple before he was kicked out of the sect. You know, the kind you get to do basic chores." ???
"You should be more respectful of your elders! Your karma will come back to bite you. May you forever be cursed with disrespectful juniors!" ??
"Oh~ if only he were a few years older, then I'd eat him up." ????
"You say that about every talented young man that crops up. You should stick more within your age range, ya hag." ???
*SMACK - CRASH*
"Anyway, I say his story checks out, he's good with that martial art of his, but his skill is much too low to be anything but a low-level disciple. This fight says more about that Long Dong's inadequacy, than any type of skill on Fang Hu's part. Just look at him, he's about to give in to his bloodlust, they're going to have to stop the fight." ?
"Yeah, Long Dong is inadequate. Hahaha~" ???
"I'll never understand your humor." ?
