I'd appreciate your support by rating the story. My two side story ideas are in the notes below, but the winner seems pretty clear already.

Changelog (edit: I'm going to update this weekly from now on, rather than everytime I post a chapter)

New Prologue, expands the events of the flashback from chapter two. The flashback will no longer occur.

Chapter one is a complete rewrite, but mostly follows the same events

Chapter Two: complete rewrite. Only major change is the addition of a cooldown for Reactive Adaptability.

Chapter Three: I kept a lot of this chapter, changes are mostly cosmetic. Reactive Learning was given a cooldown.

Chapter Four: This chapter was just a mess. I completely rewrote it, but made no significant story alterations. Thank you to everyone who stuck with me through these early chapters.

Chapter Five: is now two chapters, the debrief with Sebbit becoming chapter six. This chapter and the original are night and day, though the actual events are still mostly the same. The final interactions with the spider are different, so I recommend reading this one.
