《System Error (LitRPG Reincarnation ft. Copious Amounts of Blue Boxes)》Chapter 35: Exposition, Dungeons, and W Inertia, Oh My!

P-System Log
That's... not good. It feels like everywhere we go, the R Beasts are there to rain on our parade. It's more than a little annoying, if I do say so myself.
There was a difference this time, at least. I could actually feel the mana of something making contact with us. Not an offensive spell, obviously, but it's subtle and it's different. Different in a way that makes it not quite mana, I think, at least not mana in the senses of those of us operating with the Origin System.
I don't sense any enemies beyond the ones in this room, but now that we're in the dungeon my perception dome can't sense anything outside it. There's no telling what could be waiting for us behind closed doors and outside this place.
Come to think of it, how did the spell even penetrate the dungeon? This place is supposed to be locked down from outside influence isn't it?
Stupid-ass R Beasts and their stupid cheater skills. Oh well. I guess that just means we'll have to move "dealing with the R Beasts" up higher on our priority list.
Party Chat
[Jerome Smith]: Did you see that?
[Aster K'lon]: Yes. It is worrying, but it is no issue we are currently able to solve.
[Jerome Smith]: How are we even supposed to solve it in any way?
[Aster K'lon]: We have established that the caster is likely the [Cultist] from before, yes?
[Jerome Smith]: Yeah. So we kill him?
[Aster K'lon]: We subdue and capture him. Or kill him, yes, that is another viable option.
[Jerome Smith]: Great. How do we do that?
[Aster K'lon]: The first step is getting stronger, which we can conveniently do in this very dungeon.
[Jerome Smith]: Right.
P-System Log
Damn, Aster really wants Jerome to do this dungeon, doesn't she? Going so far as to basically ignore a [Legendary] skill from the R Beasts...
She's really invested in this.
Private Message [Aster]
[P-System]: Query. What do you seek to accomplish through this current endeavor?
[Aster K'lon]: First, please speak to me without the barrier of inaccessible dialogue. You and I both know you are capable of doing that.
[P-System]: Okay. The query remains.
[Aster K'lon]: What "endeavor" do you refer to?

Wow, I didn't even get to [Assess] what we were up against. Those looked a little different from the Dire animals that we've been encountering so far. These seemed like bona fide monsters, things with no equivalent on Earth. Sort of like the Lesser Devourers, albeit with less of a horror movie design that those shits had.
Aster isn't doing anything. She's just letting Jerome fight.
Her loss. I'll take the unshared W Inertia.
Private Message [Aster]
[P-System]: You push Jerome to do these dungeons, entice him with promises of power. To what end?
[Aster K'lon]: There you are. Speaking more like an actual intelligent being now.
[Aster K'lon]: I push him because I have learned he is godsent.
[P-System]: You knew this already. Why start pushing now?
Overcharged [Blazing Spear] activating! [Blazing Spear] dealt 70 damage! [Blazing Spear] dealt 63 damage! [Blazing Spear] dealt 55 damage! [Blazing Spear] dealt 78 damage! Enemies defeated! Experience rewarded! Private Message [Aster]
[Aster K'lon]: For I saw you were godsent as well, P-S. Godsent people, be they human, elf, dwarf, nightwalker, or any other race... those are rare enough on their own. But a godsent System? History has never seen the likes of you.
[P-System]: I don't understand how that equates to encouraging Jerome to speedrun dungeons.
[Aster K'lon]: As a godsent reincarnator--the first in decades--Jerome was already an exceptionally rare case. As such, it is my responsibility as the researcher who first found him to ensure that his abilities and properties are properly assessed, which I hope to do in P'lor.
[P-System]: Right. That has nothing to do with dungeons.
[Aster K'lon]: This was before I realized you, too, were godsent. No message was sent from the heavens, no indication that there would be another.
[P-System]: Okay.
[Aster K'lon]: I have no information about you, P-S. In order to gain it, I must observe. Your abilities are undocumented in our history, and it is only through further conflict that I can grow to understand who you are and how you operate.
[P-Systen]: Remarkably transparent of you.
[Aster K'lon]: The world is dying. Every day, the Eternal King and his R Beasts claim more land. With the truly tremendous quantities of power they wield, I do not jest when I say that us of this System seek a miracle to keep us from facing total annihilation.

[Aster K'lon]: I ask for your cooperation not because I believe you will trust me, but because we have no other option remaining to us. I am in contact with a wide network of those who search for reincarnators and their skills, and I do not exaggerate when I tell you that we are desperate. I beg of you to help us.
[P-System]: ...alright. As long as there's room to gain--as long as you allow Jerome free reign to level.
P-System Log I guess that's reasonable. I was so wrapped up in dealing with other shit that I forgot that the whole generic premise that we have here is actually a reality. Looks like there's some difference between this and those generic isekai premises, since the Demon Lord--Eternal King, whatever--actually has some level of impact on people's lives. Still haven't seen any trace of it beyond the R Beasts, but those were disruptive enough that I could totally see the Eternal King itself being an existential threat. [Misty Strike] activating! [Misty Strike] dealt 98 damage! Enemy defeated! Experience rewarded! Current W Inertia: 38454 [+72] P-System Log
holy fuck, yes yes yes yes yes
I forgot how intoxicating W Inertia overflow is. My nonexistent nerve endings are on fucking fire. Hell fucking yeah.
Now, time to get rid of some of this. I just realized that I sorta forgot to power up Jerome's skills last time he got some kills done, which is probably why I got to the overflow in the first place. I spend a lot on Jerome.
Just this once, though, I'm going to spend some on myself. Fuck the formula, fuck the numbers, fuck all of that. Jerome might've done the killing, but it was me that made him who he is. I earned this shit.
[W%M;G,P] is the only skill I've got, and it's nothing like the other skills. The first time it triggered, it was from the first overflow I ever got, but that was only like a few points of overflow. How far can I get with 72 whole points?
Well, I guess I'm about to find out.

What in the everloving fuck?
Okay, the high has died down now that I spent the W Inertia. That feeling that I had before, the instinct that something was going to go very wrong if I let that W Inertia stay. I can think more clearly now, but as has been the case far too many times now, I'm still confused as all hell.
First takeaway. My W Inertia cap increased. With a value of 38454--about a 300 increase from before, which means that each of the monsters that Jerome just killed were worth about 50 W Inertia apiece--there was a 72 point overflow, which makes my current cap... 38382. That's a little more than 20 greater than my cap before. Nice.
Second takeaway. Origin is still a little bitch! I mean, I know it's ultimately f̷o̵r̵ ̵m̵y̵ ̵o̸w̷n̸ ̸g̴o̸o̵d̸, but it's just so annoying. I just paid you 72 W Inertia, stupid-ass Origin-interfacing skill, why didn't I get any progression?
Well, if I think about it a little, I can come up with a theory as to why this happened. The first time I got this message, it said something along the lines of "access to this skill unlocked". Not that wording exactly, but it was vaguely similar. I guess I only needed a few points to open the door, but way more to actually increase my capabilities, huh?
Can I push more W Inertia into it?
Using W Inertia comes naturally at this point. It's only been a day or two, but I've adapted to it pretty damn well, if I do say so myself. Let's try and put a bit into my skill...

Shit. Okay, it doesn't do anything.
All the more reason to push Jerome to killing more shit, then. There's definitely answers for me lying in this skill. All I need to do is manipulate this reincarnator into becoming a mass murderer.
Almost as easy done than said!

Transformers: Heroes
Heroic Decepticons Alternate Universe. A century ago, the eons-old war between the Autobots and the Decepticons suddenly and inexplicably came to an end. Since then, many have gone their separate ways, whilst others still hold onto the bitter memories of war. Now, as Autobots and Neutrals join forces in a new directive to capture every Decepticon still left alive, it appears that the Autobots will finally get their chance to even the score, and defeat their enemies once and for all. But when they become the target of seemingly random, yet terrifying attacks, some begin to realize that the enemy may be much closer to home than anyone could have ever imagined. Author's Notes: While it helps to have a little bit of prior knowledge about the world of Transformers, you don't need to be a Transformers fan to enjoy this story, or even a Decepticons fan! One thing I can say for sure is that it is unlike any Transformers fan fiction you've ever come across. This story aims to explore one possible set of motivations in depth in a setting of ongoing conflict between the Autobots (and, more recently, the Alliance - a collaboration between Autobots and Neutrals) and the Decepticons. Although this story takes a lot of things from the G1 cartoon, it is by no means strictly G1 toon oriented and introduces characters and/or ideas from other continuities (Sentinel Prime, Jhiaxus, Thunderblast and Rook (not the Autobot Rook - the other Rook!). Set primarily on Cybertron and Alternity City, it also deviates from certain key elements common in Transformers canon. For one thing, the general consensus that all Autobots are good and all Decepticons are bad is challenged, and a new meaning to the motivations behind their conflict is offered (which is a recurring theme in my Heroic Decepticons Alternate Universes). Some personalities have been altered from their canonical profiles as a necessity (Megatron being the most obvious example) and developed to a much deeper level than the original cartoon allowed. I hope you enjoy and thanks for reading.
