《The Blue Mage Raised by Dragons》Book 4 Chapter 45

A group of natives stood with bows and javelins in their hands. The sun was out, shining down on their light-brown skin and braided, black hair. Everyone in the village was gathered, men in front, followed by the women, then the children. Ahead of them, on the horizon, a sea of people was approaching. “What’s going on, chief?”
“I don’t know,” the leader of the village said with a grim expression on his face. Red war paint was smeared across his cheeks. “The great spirit of the bear has abandoned us. He isn’t answering our calls at all. Perhaps, this is the end of our tribe.”
Meanwhile, in the sea of people, the leaders encouraged their men to work faster. After spending a day and a night cutting through the forest, they finally caught sight of a human settlement. However, there wasn’t a statue of Feathered Serpent. One of the leaders of the men walking the path of god shouted, “Feathered Serpent must’ve gone this way! He’s always flown in a straight line! If he’s not in this village, then he must’ve flown past. Either Feathered Serpent has chosen to abandon these people, or they were never sick in the first place. Before we decide whether to wage war or not, we shall speak with them; let them tell us where Feathered Serpent has gone!”
A few moments later, a string of men came forward, approaching the leaders. Since the path makers all belonged to different tribes and regions that Feathered Serpent had visited, there was bound to be differences in their languages. However, by finding men who understood more than one language, they could guarantee communication between every party. “We’ve found someone who understands the language of the people in this region. Communication shouldn’t be a problem.”

“Excellent,” one of the leaders said. “We’ll advance first, greeting those tribesmen first.” The leaders and a sizable group of men stepped forward, ahead of the men who were clearing out a road. Next to the leaders, the string of translators followed closely.
At the village, the chief gestured for his people to take up arms. “Stay back! State your intentions!”
After a few strings of translations, the last translator said to the leaders, “They want to know why we are here.”
The main leader nodded. “Tell them we want to know if they’ve seen Feathered Serpent.”
One translator turned to another, translating the leader’s words into one the second translator could understand. “Have you seen the god, Feathered Serpent?”
The second translator turned to the third translator. “Have you seen Feathered Serpent?”
The third translator turned to the fourth translator. “Have your people encountered Feathered Serpent?”
The fourth translator turned to the fifth translator. “Do you know where the great god who flies in the sky in the form of a serpent is? He’s feathered.”
The fifth translator turned to the sixth translator. “Where is the feathered, flying serpent!?”
The sixth translator turned to the seventh translator. “Let us see the floating serpent!”
And the seventh translator turned towards the village chief. He pointed a finger at him and shouted, “Do you dare to let us see your turds float!?”
A baffled expression appeared on the village chief’s face. In fact, said expression appeared on everyone’s face behind him as well. The chief cleared his throat and looked at his people. “Well,” he said, drawing out the word. “Does anyone dare let them see?” He cleared his throat before anyone could respond. Then he turned back and pointed at the translator. “Is that really what you wish to see?”

The seventh translator turned towards the sixth translator. “Are you sure you want to see? It’ll cost you!”
The sixth turned towards the fifth. “Can you afford it? Pay us, and we’ll let you see!”
The fifth turned towards the fourth. “Pay us a lot and we’ll tell you!”
The fourth turned towards the third. “This knowledge is expensive. Bring out your goods.”
The third turned towards the second. “We’ll tell you what we saw if you pay us a great sum.”
The second turned towards the first. “We’ll tell you if you pay us.”
The first turned towards the leaders. “If we pay them money, then they’ll let us know which way he went.”
The leaders went red in the face as their muscles bristled. “With the puny group of men they have, they dare to resist? They wish to extort us!? Slaughter them all! Teach these ungrateful heretics what it means to blaspheme the name of Feathered Serpent! We’ll pave the path of god with their flesh and bones!”
The village chief’s eyes bulged out of his head when he saw everyone amongst the sea of people take out weapons. “They really want to see our floating turds!” he shouted at his people. “Quick! Everyone who needs to poop, hurry up and do it! Even if you don’t have to, try to show them! They’ll kill us if they aren’t happy!”
The villagers were dismayed, but they spread out and lowered their weapons while turning around. Their actions caused the leaders of the path makers to call for a stop. “What are they doing?” the main leader asked. “Is this a pre-battle custom they partake in?” The villagers lowered their loincloths and grass skirts, and the leader wrinkled his nose in disgust. “How vile! They’re, they’re tainting the path of god with their filth! What are you all waiting for!? Hurry up and exterminate them!”

“Oh,” Vur said and blinked. He was standing in the middle of a plains with a spirit buffalo and spirit bear cowering before him.
“Yes, great lord?” the spirit bear asked with his head lowered. “Is he not to your satisfaction? I guarantee he’s more eloquent than I am!”
“No, it’s not that,” Vur said. He glanced at his front paw. “Deedee, we forgot to leave some statues behind. We have to make this one extremely large so Tafel can find us anyway if she followed the previous ones.”
Diamant sighed. “Alright. Give me a moment.”

Where Giants Fall
A fantasy LitRPG about traversing through worlds and slaying giants with nothing but a wooden suit and an army of treants. Nicholas Atkins didn't expect to wake up naked in the glowing woods. What he did expect was waking up to a hangover after last night's party- fortunately, that wasn't the case. Unfortunately though, he had worse problems to take care of than a headache. At first he blamed it on the alcohol; from what he recalled in Biology, glowing flowers didn't exactly exist in the realm of reality. However he was as sober as he could be, so next he blamed the drugs, but there was a problem- he didn't have the money to do drugs in the first place. When the fairies came, things became even weirder. Talks of climbing towers, magic tricks, and dinner were all on the table. Of course, dinner was the priority, but so was getting back home. However slowly, Nico realized that he might actually want to stay in this fantasy world. After all, he's had enough listening to Professor Paul's lecture on calculus- the swords and sorceries were just an added bonus. Still, staying in this new world has its own costs- and money is but one thing on that long, long list. Updated everyday except Saturday GMT+8 (Specific time varies by around 30 minutes). Mon at 9:00 AM Tue at 12:00 PM Wed at 3:00 PM Thu at 6:00 PM Fri at 9:00 PM Sun at 12:00 AM

Midthalion Saga
+++Working on new chapters. Share what I've posted with your friends and family! Be sure to build strong bonds with those who are important to you. We only have each other in this world for so long!+++ Can Roderick XXIII gather together and train a party of adventurers to clear out Madeon Caves and bring peace to the wildmarches of Midthalion? Sent from his home monastery in the west to the wildmarches of Midthalion, Roderick the Holy Avenger is devoted to living out his oath to bring the Holy Light to the dark corners of the world. He enlists the help of an old friend, Ulrich Vogelbrandt the dwarf druid, to train and prepare a fighting force capable of defending the west from the evil they both see gathering and growing in the east. Eoroth is an ode to Tolkienesque epic fantasy, Robert E Howard and H.P. Lovecraft's pulp fiction, and Gygaxian Dungeons & Dragons. I like to write about serious topics because I think it's fun. I hope it makes for a fun read. Place: Eoroth, a vast, flat world with many continents set in oceans that reach out and mingle with the Celestial Sea. Our story takes place on the continent of Thalion in the middle, unsettled region called Midthalion. Peoples: Races in Eoroth aren't different species; the species of man is just incredibly diverse, consisting of many known races (and perhaps some unknown). There are no humans in Thalion. Thalion's races include variations of elves, dwarves, halflings (billowits), pierros (clownish men), bergeracs (long-nosed and swarthy men of honour), orcs, trolls, goblins, and hobgobs. The Church: There's one dominant religion in Westhalion. The faith of the elves is an analogue to Roman Catholicism while the dwarves practice an Eastern Orthodox analogue. (Forgive me for not having figured out names yet.) The practitioners worship a triune god (the All-Father, Son-of-All, and Holy Light). There are many powers in heaven, all created by God. These include the Twelve High Thrones, individual, created beings who take on the role of guiding mankind in different aspects, drawing them closer and closer to God. (That should be the essentials. I could write pages on the theology. Comment where something's unclear in the story.) Natural World: There are plants and animals in Eoroth, but the world is also inhabited by spirits called aeons. Aeons are transformative beings; in the wild, they'll change based on whatever is happening nearby. Pollute a pond? Expect to see toxic toad-men running around. Leave a bunch of dead bodies strewn across a battlefield? Expect the place to become haunted with ghouls and ghasts. Druids are important for making sure that the aeons are pacified; that their needs are met so that they don't become rampaging monsters. Where the wilderness becomes overgrown, so too do the aeons. Aeons and People: Long ago, men learned how to trap aeons in stone tablets and use them for war. Now, anyone can capture an aeon into a special staff made by a druid. Men train, raise, and bond with these aeons. Druids often build entire ranches devoted to raising healthy aeons as allies and companions. Aeons are divided into twelve known families, and the church sees these as corresponding with the Twelve Thrones in Heaven. Direction: My goal is to get the story to one million words by June next year. I have tons of content in mind for the world. I want to release novels set in different ages of the world depicting different historical events. I hope to expand the setting into a tabletop role-playing game as well as a series of old-school JRPGs. But, it all begins with writing some stories and publishing my novels.

I Have Even Read the Rulebook!
As all stories begin, Prof died. Yes, truck-kun had something to do with that, but also a bird, a cat and some rebar. When he was presented with with the opportunity in the Afterlife Administration Bureau to be transmigrated into a game-like fantasy world, he did something, no one ever did: he read the Rulebook. Follow Prof on his road to be rich without working, touring a whole new world without a care and witness his realisation, that despite having read the Rulebook the folks living with the System for untold millennia know more about the rules. Important notes: 1, I'm not a native speaker, so be prepared for occassional typos, iffy grammar and maybe awkward sentences. The spell check was running, when I wrote the chapters, but it works in strange ways... If you point out mistakes, I will try to correct them 2, Scheduling will be two chapters a week, posted Saturdays before noon (CET). Depending on how much new chapters I can write consistently there will be probably more but as long as I have leftover chapters, the two per week will be posted no matter what. Chapters will be around 1500-2500 words as MS Word counts it. 3, I did not and will not post this novel on another site, if you find it somewhere else, please inform me 4, The Main Character's progression is slow, there will be no Levels, Skills, Abilities, Feats, Perks and Cheat Powers raining down on him 5, I've put Comedy as a genre because of my writing style not because the novel is a comedy per se. On the other hand, Traumatising Content is there because there is a lot of speciesism - those Elves are not nice people. 6, I put a lot of pop-cultural references into the chapters, try to find them! Enjoy!
