Hey guys.
I'm taking a break. I've been quite annoyed with this story for a while now, there are way too many things I wish I could rewrite, delete, or add, but I guess that's the issue with posting chapters as I write them. And I don't really feel like working on this these days, I barely wrote a single chapter in three weeks, while I could write one in two or three days before. A month ago I started a story in my native tongue, which I aim to publish; it's going well, it's much more comfortable and swift, and when I compare this to my english writing, well, it's frustrating to say the least...
I'd rather not lie to you and make you wait weeks or months between chapters. I'm saying hiatus, but maybe I should say 'dropped' instead. I'm not sure I'll be continuing this novel here, to be honest. Right now I'd say I wouldn't, but in a month or two I could feel like going back to it. Or maybe not, we'll see. So, sorry guys, thank you all for reading and for your support. I really enjoyed reading your comments and your theories, I was looking forward to surprise some of you or to confirm your thoughts, but I'd rather stop here before this novel becomes a chore. I hope you're not too disappointed.
Edit :
For those who asked, here's a very short summary of the rest of the story and the ending. There's only the main plotline here, and I didn't write down much about the secondary characters. If I had to guess, I'd say we were almost halfway through. Callir was the first arc, Ocia was the second one, and there were two more after that.
Spoiler: Spoiler
The siege of Ocia drags on, and the defenders realise that Gavnel (Viera's chosen) has coerced the other city-states into backing the Paarese, and sent ships to intercept the Daeli fleet that was supposed to rescue Ocia. The Callirian army also joins the besiegers. Demnir takes advantage of the extended siege to sell his products at high prices, and he turns himself into a powerful advisor at the side of an increasingly paranoiac and anxious Vierodel. In the end, the defenses are broken, the city is sacked, and Demnir escapes with Ezveril, and plans to use her as a ransom to get himself a reputation of saviour in Dael, as well as power and money. Vierodel and Atricia are left for dead, the Daeli manage to reconquer the city and their rule over it stays weak and fragile. Rina uses the defeat of the Callirian army as a way to get rid of Phiramel, she poisons him and puts her own minions in charge of the church.

In Dael, a civil war breaks out after the king's death; prince Arthian faces his own brother and his supporters who criticise Arthian's decisions and his failure in Ocia. Demnir takes Arthian's side as a means to climb his way up, and they wage war against some of the Daeli nobility, backed by Paar and some Vierans. While Arthian arranges negociations with the foreign countries backing his brother, Demnir is tasked to defeat the rebel lords so that Arthian may have a peaceful land once the negociations have worked out. The heroes get involved, and Demnir uses his strategical genius, his wealth and his connections to take down the rebels. He therefore succeeds in crowning Arthian as king.
Demnir then helps the new king fulfilling his dreams of conquest and he is soon seen as a dangerous prince merchant. At this point he becomes more and more obsessed with power and money, and he takes on the role of the big bad in the eyes of the more 'moral' characters. It's implied he's the chosen of one of the grey gods, who feasted on his resentment towards his original gods and eventually brought him back. Some of the seers and heroes are convinced he's the threat they were meant to be fighting, and they try to assassinate him. Rina betrays them as she tries to save her brother. In the epilogue, Demnir's fate is left uncertain (it was meant to be ambiguous), Rina is seen on the run, known as a traitor and a heretic, and the Daeli royalty has to deal with a crumbling empire.

The Power of Ten: Book One: Sama Rantha, and Book Two: The Far Future
(Author's Note: If you're wondering about the views, it's +1.8 million more on Webnovel, its original home. Updated daily starting Dec. 26, 2018, and continued with Book Three.) Some time ago, a planes-traveling archmage made up a video game to train some people on the planet Earth for the catastrophe he knew was coming. That game was the Power of Ten. The gods seized this opportunity to take the templates of some of those characters, and even their souls, for use in other worlds, and other realms. Sama Rantha is one of those characters, and is going to find out that being a Hagchild and having to survive after your Hag Curse fails to murder you at birth is much, much less fun than setting it as your Race at level One on a gamescreen. Join Sama Rantha on her Road to Ten, and letting her Hagmother know exactly what she thinks of her... ------ Warning: This book starts with a HARD OPEN! It was written as an extension of other stories that have not made it onto the Internet yet for National Novel Writing Month in Nov/2018. Book One/Sama Rantha: A traditionalist LitRPG in the fantasy world vein. The beginning chapters will be heavy with gaming terms and the supporting math as Sama exploits the rules as much as possible, minmaxing her heart out to get one up on the world trying to kill her. The math and rules lawyering tapers off, but are never eliminated, as Sama is going to do everything she can to exploit the rules of reality here and not die, while making sure those responsible for this get exactly what is coming to them... ------ Book Two, The Far Future (starting Ch. 286): The Warp, the final frontier; in the grim darkness of a galaxy far far away, there came a hagchild...QX! Sci-fi/Fantasy/psionics mashup, grimbright clashing with grimdark! Sama is sent into a setting she'd rather not be in, but the heart of a powergamer never says no, even in the crapsack galaxy of the Tellurian Empire. BOOK TWO IS COMPLETE WITH 357 CHAPTERS AS OF 9/2020. ----------- Book Three (updating daily): The Human Race (next Book!) - Urban Fantasy world. Three Power of Ten gamers come together in a world under the Shroud of the Cancer of Death. Whatever might happen when they do, and what might they find there? Book Three is complete with 500 chapters: right here. Book Four: Power of Ten is dumped into the Marvel Universe. Surely there'll be no changes to canon when that happens? A Fanfiction variant, with teeth! Dynamo The Original Sama Stories: Being posted at: over in this location. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Discord link: in zis location is always up if I'm online. 8 786Ebony Chitin - Eclipse
Richard Adams is something of a talented alchemist. One of the few magical professions that have anything to do with some kind of science. Everything was going swimmingly, until the 'cold night' incident happened. With it being determined as his fault, that such a thing happened. He was promptly exiled until he could return to Eclipse with a new 'discovery' for his field. What he didn't expect; was that he'd run into a strange humanoid monster that could seemingly heal any life threatening wound in a matter of seconds. Certainly this would be what he needs to become a master alchemist. The first step on a multi series journey. Please excuse the earliest chapters and their poor grammer. Ebony Chitin follows Richard Adams, and Mimi on their Journey to understand each other and the world around them. Due the the exploratory nature of such a claim, it will cover many different topics. This was my first attempt at actually writing a story, and because of that I will not edit it. I'd suggest reading the second part as it comes out as most of the things within this book will be recapped. Though if it becomes popular I hope it might inspire some of you readers to write your own stories. Cover Art by Rose Dragon
8 140Verdant Heart Seed - A Reverend Insanity fan-fiction
Back in the Late Antiquity Era, the protagonist meets his untimely demise. But Heaven and Earth always leaves a way out, his new cultivation journey begins anew on the path of reclaiming his former strength and defying Fate.---This is a story about a native cultivator of the Gu world. He lived in the era of/before Spectral Soul Demon Venerable (two venerable eras before the main RI plot). He suffered the rise of the demon venerable, barely able to make his arrangements before his death. He manages to rebirth, but doesn't everything go as planned. The story starts off in an isolated small word (grotto heaven), until the MC can grow and reclaim his former glory, before surpassing it. (long way, he was already rank 8 before) The MC has a pragmatic worldview, aligned with what you would expect from someone living hundreds of years in that kind of hostile environment. He doesn't shy away from immoral acts if it benefits him. The MC bears close resemblance to Fang Yuan in this regard, but his goal is not eternal life. One of my aims was to showcase the later introduced cultivation rules into the mortal cultivation (dao marks, attainment etc.) and explore novel scenarios within this highly technical cultivation environment.
