《The Last Woman on Earth: A Military Sci-fi Intrigue》Author's Note

Good day, comrades. I'm Daniel Newwyn, the author of this book. I hope you've enjoyed The Last Woman on Earth so far. During the last hiatus, I've spent a great amount of time editing the book, and have made some changes to the content with the help of my awesome editor Aaron Sikes. You might have noticed two extra chapters added recently. I've fixed some details to add more to the world, to make the language feels more authentic and doesn't sound too British, as well as portray the military life and Alexei's interaction with the outside world more realistically. Here are the notable changes so you don't have to reread the whole thing, or at least you can find the new content you'd like to read:
Chapter 3 - page 13 (brand new chapter): I added a scene where Alexei actually finds the woman before taking her into his room. Chapter 10 - page 67: brand new part I added, this chapter along with Chapter 11 at page 71 are to get rid of the time jump between 'six days left' and 'four days left', to further characterize Lieutenant Petrov, and to expand on worldbuilding. Chapter 18 - page 126: added part at the end so the part where Alexei's called up to Dzyuba's office doesn't come out of anywhere. Chapter 31 - page 198: added the reasoning for why Dzyuba agrees to give Alexei another night. For those who are waiting, I'll resume writing the second book of this series relatively soon, now that the first book is at the standard I want it to be. The second book hasn't been edited. I hope you stick around, and make sure to stay hydrated!

Her unfazed expression didn’t even waver when the blade of her thin sword pierced one of the men all the way through armor, flesh and bone, a gurgling sound bubbling from his throat. With a kick she mercilessly pushed him back, freeing her blade, and glanced down at his dead body sprawled at her feet, confirming that death had indeed taken him. Stepping over the dead man’s body as if it were a mere pebble on her path, she raised her head just in time to see her second attacker lunge at her and, nimbly turning on her heels, she slit his throat. A spray of hot, sticky blood hit her left cheek and slid down her neck, but she didn’t even blink. The scent of the fresh blood filled her nostrils and her brain like an inebriating drug and she stepped forward once again, lightly turning to one side to avoid being decapitated and quickly returning the favor. One by one the men kept falling as she advanced, victims of her lethal, almost mechanical movements, as if she’d been born with a sword in hand and ready to kill …* This is a direct continuation of Book 1 - Denial. You CANNOT start reading Book 2 without reading Book 1, since the story won't make any sense! Enjoy ^_^*
