《The Life of Kenshiro Senju》Chapter 6, Childhood 3, Start of my Ninja career.

The next weeks and months were spent like this. Most of the time mom was with us, reading storybooks to us or play train us for our future as ninja. Tsunade learned to crawl when she was 6 months, I was already walking at that time. Having risen my Chakra Enhancement to level 10 through continued use.
I also gained a skill, one of the best skills I will have and also one I was training without pause.
Observation; LV 4 ( 24%) Active;
Observe your surroundings and find useful information. Oh look, there are two bugs fucking each other, over there, behind the leave, five meters away.
-Each use costs Stamina and the results vary on the Skill level of the user, the LV difference of the observed living being or the rarity of the observed item.
Needless to say that I observed everything I could find. I could identify everything I could see and gain information for a low cost on Stamina. The skill was only giving me ?-Marks whenever I was trying to observe the status of my parents or other visitors. Only their name and level were shown. Mom was level 85, dad 165. Mito was 230, Tobirama 300 and Hashirama a whopping 576. These numbers were crazy, I just wish I had something to compare them with.
But I only have Tsunade, her level was 0, all her stats were between 5 and 7 with the exception being intelligence and luck. Intelligence was already 20 and luck was -5 with an additional – 40. The -40 was a perk I couldn't identify yet, my Observation wasn't high enough.
My own stats have risen as well from my constant training, they now looked like this;

With my ability to walk came a wider range of things to inspect and find. I finally reached the bookcase and got my hands on a real book. At first, I couldn't read it, I am not fluent in their language. But I gained a Language skill.
Japanese; LV 45 ( 87%) Passive;
Speak and write the language of Japanese.
With it, I started to learn the written word quicker and had soon found out how to read it. The book I had access to was a small geography book about the Elemental Nations. There wasn't much history inside, mostly because there was no written history in this world.
Before the villages came writing down your history was dangerous and since the founding has happened not even a single generation ago, writing it down wasn't necessary. There might be some in the Academy, but in a normal home, unlikely.
Grandma Mito once saw me looking at the book with obvious signs of comprehension and started me on calligraphy and writing from then on. It was into the Japanese Skill and is what made it level up this quickly. I dare say to hope that she is planning on teaching me Sealing.
That's how my life was for the first year, training my Chakra skills, reading and learning how to write perfectly.
Today, however, is my and Tsunade's first birthday. I already got the info of a level up from the system and have gained ten Game Points, those I will keep for some time.

Everyone we knew was present for our birthday. Mom, dad, Grandma Mito, Hashirama and Tobirama. Both Tsunade and I got lots of presents, ranging from clothes to toys and more practical things like play ninja tools.
Recently they have tried to teach us how to speak. Mostly by repeating the same word over and over. Now wasn't different, only that I recently relearned to speak. They already knew that I could say mommy, book and hug, which were the most used words of me.
Daddy wasn't one of those words and dad was trying hard to make me say it. “Come Kenshiro-chan, say, Daddy, Dad-dy.” I looked into his hopeful eyes and saw an opportunity to troll him.
“Daddy,” I replied cheerfully and he beamed a smile at me, before picking me up and raced out of the bathroom, where he was watching over my potty training. Over to the dinner table where the rest of the family was. “Guys, Kenshiro-chan has finally said it, he said daddy. Come Kenshiro-chan, show them.”
I grinned a slightly toothy grin, “shit.” I said and dad looked horrified at me. I got plucked out of his hands and found myself looking at mom. “Shit, shit, shit,” I repeated for a good measure and giggled.
“No, he didn't say that. He said Daddy!” Protested dad frantically. I just kept repeating the word.
She plays poked my nose to get my attention and then asked with a sweet smile. “Ken-chan, where have you learned that word?”
“Daddy!” I shouted loudly.
“What? No no, he said daddy to me and not shi...,” at the end of his defense, dad noticed the death glare coming from mom. He turned pale and started to shiver.
“Ken-chan,” I looked back at mom, she was still smiling, “that word is a bad word, don't say it again ok?” I nodded and got passed into Grandma Mito's hands.
“Grama Mito,” I said happily and hugged her. She smiled fondly and placed me on her lap, from where I could see everyone else. Tobirama was eyeing me with suspicion and Hashirama was laughing loudly but had to stop his laugh to cough.
Mom dragged dad out of the room and was probably giving him hell. “That wasn't nice Ken-kun,” scolded Mito lightly, yet she had a small smile on her lips as well. She was the only one that was calling me kun already. Which means that she already recognizes me as a boy and not a baby.
“We know that you are more aware of your surroundings than Tsunade-chan. It is rare, but not unheard of to have a child genius like you. Still, you are in a league of your own,” added Tobirama.
“Me trouble?” I asked, hoping that I haven't shown too much. I don't know what is okay in this world. One-year-old children that are fluently speaking wouldn't have happened in my old one, walking was okay, I did that with 11 months in my first life.
But I knew that Itachi and Kakashi were out of the academy while being four to six years. So, I thought that speaking with one shouldn't be impossible.
Tobirama stared at me, he knew that I butchered my words knowingly. “Since finding out that you use your Chakra we knew that you'd be faster than Tsunade-chan. Now we can be sure that you understand us. And no, you are not in trouble.”
Mom and dad choose that moment to come back inside. Dad looked a little downtrodden but put a smile on his face when he sat down next to Grandma Mito. “Kenshiro-chan, your mom and I have decided that you are old enough to start your training. What do you say, do you want to train with your daddy?”

Really? Isn't that normally detrimental for the body? Or does Chakra counteract the strain and damage? Not that it would affect me, a Gamer's Body has either no limit or stops growing at a certain point. There won't be any lasting damage, as long as I don't lose parts of my body. And even that is untested.
“Training? Like writing with Grama Mito?” I asked back, just to be sure. I don't plan on doing any political training, even if I think that I won't be able to dodge that one.
Mito chuckled in amusement. “No Ken-kun, training with your father to become a Ninja. Your writing is not training.”
“Okay.” There wasn't much else to add. Training at such an early age will greatly benefit me, even if I have to be careful. However, showing them that I won't tire might become troublesome.
The day after Tsunade's and my first birthday was the first day of training with dad. He showed me a series of stretching techniques that strongly reminded me of yoga, something that I wasn't fond of in my first life. Here it isn't so bad, I am more flexible and I can see the results of yoga, my reflex is increasing.
The stretching was followed by running around our training field, which increased endurance. He then trained me in his fighting style. The Senju itself have no general style for everyone, like the Uchiha with their Interceptor Style.
Senju means thousand skills or a thousand hands and the clan believes that each individual should have his own array of skills. Parents may teach their own style to their children and masters their special Jutsu to their students, but the end goal is for each one to find and develop their very own style.
To archive this each Jonin ranked member of the Senju is encouraged to write down the basics of their own style and store it in the clan library. It's a treasure trove of Jutsu and skills and sealed to heaven and hell. Only someone of Chunin rank is allowed access without the company of a Jonin.
For the next two years, I was trained in dad's style, a close combat style that heavily relied on attacks and less on defence. Enemy attacks were evaded or redirected, while our own were targeted at weak points. I had to learn how to take a punch and earned the Pain Resistance skill. It is a passive skill that lessens the felt pain and allows the user to continue to think and move under strong pain.
It also gave me the skill of Martial Arts. Looks like the system does not give me a skill for each different fighting style. Martial Arts were rising only slowly. As if sparring doesn't affect it. I got some exp from doing katas but that's it, maybe I need to win a fight to gain more. A for now unrealistic goal. I still couldn't beat dad, not that I have hit him once.
Mom was teaching Tsunade and me behaviour and etiquette. It had little effect on Tsunade and I only managed to stay awake thanks to my maturity.
There were also lessons on politic, history and clan history. Those were under Tobirama. He was extremely detailed about the long fight against the Uchiha. Telling both me and Tsunade where the Uchiha are strong, where weak and what to do in a fight against them. His distrust was clear and Hashirama, who would have lessened the effect was visiting us less and less. We didn't know why then.
I also continued my lessons with Mito. My calligraphy was now up to pair to her lower standards. Japanese rose to 65 and only now am I at the lowest acceptable level. She gave me a test when I was two and a half. It was the first quest I have received and would have given me 30% of my current level. I did it and she started teaching me the basics of sealing. The 30% was set back down to 0 when I turned three and levelled up through ageing.
Sealing or Fuinjutsu was a Jutsu skill and uses the different signs of Kanji. The words all have a specific meaning and can be arranged to produce an effect. Almost everything was to be considered when you draw a seal. The way you arrange the Kanji, the thickness of your brush, the amount of ink you use, the ink you use, the exact position of the Kanji, the starting point, your intentions and so on.
It was not without reason the most obscure art of the Ninja teachings. Luckily, I have one of the best teachers alive. Mito is a seal master and only our relatives in Uzushiogakure are better than her. She was often telling me stories of her home, I think she really wants to visit them again.
When she turned three Tsunade also started her fighting training under mom. Mom's fighting style is better suited for Tsunade, with both of them being women. The three-year-old was intelligent and speaking in fluent words and clearly structured sentences. She was a child genius, unlike me, who was only reincarnated.
She was also a giant fan of her big brother, following me around whenever she could and asking me questions about every topic she could think of. I also helped her whenever she had problems with her training, especially Chakra control or Chakra enhancement. We did almost everything together, even bathing.
She also has Hashirama wrapped around her pinkie. Her cute behaviour was too much for him and he could never say no to anything she asks him to do, the few times he was visiting us nowadays. I was more a fan of Grandma Mito. Her cool and calm behaviour was badass. Especially if you consider that she can totally wreck you with a few words written down on paper.
Both of us will start the academy tomorrow. A big thing in the eyes of our parents. I seriously wanted to question Hashirama for allowing that, but didn't. Wasn't his goal to not have children fight in wars? I know that Naruto was twelve when he graduated but Kakashi and Itachi weren't. Those two were four and five if I'm correct. Tsunade and I will be around six when we finish.
Hashirama was looking sicker and sicker and no adult would tell us. He wasn't holding us up anymore and hugs were extremely rare. I think he has some illness that they can't heal and he is dying. I was trying to put it out of my mind, maybe this was the real canon death of him? Who else could defeat someone with such a high level?
For dinner, we had a big feast and even got presents. New Kunai and Shuriken for training, a bunch of notebooks for the lessons and a new set of training clothes.
The next morning mom brought us to the academy and was waving at us when we walked inside. Dad was out on a mission, we don't know what he was going to do.
Our classroom was Class A, one of four classes in our corridor. There are three corridors for the first year and each class has 30 students. That makes 360 students in the first year. But Tobirama has told us that not every one of us will become a Ninja. In the end, we will be a lot less.
Our teacher was a Chunin in her late twenties. She looked rather unimpressive, not tall and not small. She wore the standard Chunin attire and had no visible scars or wounds. She has introduced herself as Vilia-Sensei and started us on introducing ourselves.
There wasn't anyone of interest in our class. Orochimaru and Jiraiya must have been in different classes. The students around us were whispering in awe when Tsunade and I introduced ourselves. Tsunade was holding up the image of an energetic, bold and slightly arrogant child. I knew that she was nervous, but she was determined to show only the strength of the Senju.
I was more laid back and introduced myself with my name and a simple yo.

I'm not sure how much I learned in the process, except that readers get angry when you mess with characters they like! Warnings - I tend to info dump. I know I do this, I like slice of life novels that take time to unfold. So don't expect action, murder, and battles in every chapter, it isn't going to happen I prefer the first-person narrative. I will do an occasional POV shift, but it will never be done mid-chapter. I hope you enjoy the story, comments, ratings, and favorites are greatly appreciated!
