I said, as I slumped to the ground, my hands flying to my face, blood trickling between my fingers. Shards of metal were sliding painfully from my skin and pinging onto the ground, as if the nano within me was expelling them.
Ezzie whistled.
I said.
Ezzie said.
I said.
I said, as I forced myself back to my feet.
Ezzie said.
I nodded.
Ezzie said. She shrugged through the link.
Ezzie dropped the drawbridge and I headed in, wandering through the streets for a long while before I found a merchant to repair my equipment. I paused, searching through the merchant’s goods. He had four wooden shields for sale, which gave me an idea.
Ezzie said, a long moment later; she was obviously distracted on her end.
Ezzie said.
I bought four shields in all, then jogged through the marketplace a bit, though every other stall was deserted. The orphanage, though, was lit up with torches, and I could see Marcus running around inside through one of the windows.
Ezzie said.
Ezzie said.
I said, as I headed back to the north gate.

I said.
The timer was ticking down; the encounter would resume in a little under two minutes. I headed back toward the north gate and took up my usual position just beyond the drawbridge.
Ezzie said.
I took a deep breath.
The dark clouds still hadn’t parted, and if anything, the snow was falling even harder than before, piling atop the grass at an incredible rate.
Snowdrifts were already forming, the larger of them easily knee-high. But at the very least, the Wyrmking seemed to have disappeared. For now, anyway.

The Novel's Sidekick
Just because you can’t explain it, doesn’t make it a miracle. Something like that happened to Aaron, an introverted youth, who expected to live a normal, boring life. But it took a little for the expectation to go wrong. Who knew he would transmigrate into his favourite Web novel, Forbidden Realms? Waking up in the mysterious land, Aaron finds himself reincarnated as Scar, the loyal sidekick. But soon he found out it was not the only change. Magic still exists in Forbidden realms, with the blessing of the twelve heroes who had stood against the end of time in the sky-breaking, catastrophic war fifteen hundred years ago. Unfortunately, the end of time comes once again. From the bleeding moons in the broken sky, to the wind of the end that sweeps across the rocky terrain to the snow-filled land, all cry the foretell of desolation. Who will decide the fate of the Forbidden realms? The twelve heroes lost in the void of time. The Knights who lost half of their dominions. The order of Magi with broken high arts. The forsakers with their policy of non-intervention. Or the religious zealots and their dead God. Bearing the responsibility and knowledge imparted to him through the book, Scar unravels the mysteries shrouded in the pages of history and myth, while slowly developing his newfound powers and others to stand against the end of time. What's This Fiction ? A Very Incomplete Project.
A fiction about itself and it's writer. Which is a very narcissic choice from the author, really, couldn't he have written anything else ? The cover was hastily made on gimp by the author. He has no rights to the image used on it. He doesn't have the artist's agreement for using it, either. Because he has no idea who's the artist.
