《Clockwork》Volume 4 Chapter 2: Let the Negotiations Begin

Author's Corner: I am rather pumped and so let is get moving, got this chapter out rather quick, it really does seem my Writers block is gone for now. I think Nebula chap is the next to be released since its good to not focus so much. Don't expect it out today though.
Through the eyes of Asura and Yasha, I look down at the massive scrapyard that is composed of Constructs instead of clockwork.
A small sense of nostalgia passes through me as I look down and then into the city which was rather pathetic if you compare to the clockwork cities since the number of races that united and built those cities made very strong cities.
I turn around and look inside of brock's whale body. The inside was a hustle and bustle. The inside was separated into layers. Floor one was a large market place and at the very back was my workshop as well as the city hall. Alongside that there was another building that was a series of special machines I built and it connected to a huge magic crystal that was jutting out of the ground.
This machine is connected with the processed silver wires that I had gotten off Gaia. This machine takes Brocks massive amount of mana and draws it into the generator is connected with which is simply several dozen elevated Lighting magic cores Crystals that then produce electricity which is transferred into a transformer and then distributed throughout the city making the inside much brighter thanks to the lamps we now have.
Following this we also built a clockwork production plant on the fourth floor and even more than this we have a Blast furnace built in town but we mostly only melt trash and recycled items.
Floor three is a massive maze like resident area housing all of our residents and it’s also one of the safest places because it’s been also where we built the Clockwork Knights barracks. This is run by Surge who has advanced beyond Metal Core Steel armor to something far beyond that.
After all the clockworks in my official crew became either an Automata or Machina we gained a very unique ability.
Molecular CraftingIntermediate Level 2A unique ability only possessed by a being that is made with a Motherboard Core. This ability allows the user to break down any item that you can pull within your core. Once broken down you can control the broken down molecules and rearrange them and create a new item with as well as combine items at a molecular level to create unique materials.
Increases control over broken down molecules by 7%
Increases quality of items made by 7%
Its because of this skill that we are able to make extremely unique parts for our body. Now what was it that we made? Well when I was making my new Asura body I made the face and body several times more complex and allowing me to make expressions to a new degree. Now what was the materials?
On our trip over the ocean, it’s not an exaggeration to say that we fought some of the hardest monsters ever.
Swarms of mutant birds over level 190, lesser dragons level 210, mutant wyvern level 200, were beasts we were able to kill but then there were sea monsters level 340, which were avoided because we can’t fight this thing.
These were all things that we had to fight through to reach this another continent.
How we reach here, first was our anti-air turrets which were upgraded thanks to our ability to make new materials and make much more intricate parts making the weapons more complex.

Second was that the “impossible” to process silver wire was easily made by those who are cores at the moment since we can separate the silver to a 100% purity making the wires we use very good. From my guess with the silver wires attached to Brock it will eventually be saturated with so much mana that it will sooner or later become mythril wires.
Now what is used these pure silver wires? As I said before it was made to transfer the mana from the whale to the machines we use.
Another place we use it is transferring mana into the furnace. And we also learned to make magic weaponry through crystal cores and silver wires combined with the weaponry.
Most places that need its own power source it has its own lightning Core in their home but sealed off so it’s not stolen.
Anyway the bodies we have now are a unique mix we developed by consuming the monsters we killed. The Lesser dragons bones were consumed and mixed with Iron and coal and made what I dubbed Dragon Bone Steel. I made all the armor plate with that as well as the skeleton since it was originally bone. Then I took the scales from a few of them and made the all the smallest parts since they were delicate I wanted them to be strong and durable and the scales were just that. If it wasn’t for the fact that we used missiles and strong weapons to down them we would never kill these beasts.
The meat was left as food but the blood was drawn through our cores because after a test I found we could draw out all the minerals from the blood and split it up so we gained new sources of minerals to process even though it was pretty unconventional.
The rest of the parts that I didn’t use the scales with I used the remaining bones to make them while fangs and claws were made into close range weapons. Well mostly. I turned all the small bones that remained into spear heads and made strong spears so that I could toss them with Yasha while I made a Dragon Bone Steel sword for Asura.
The others were in similar conditions, Nova didn’t know how to make most of the stuff but it wasn’t hard to make her a new robot body and build it.
The strength of the original crew can’t be compared to 7 months ago. For me and Nova these are the stats of our robot's.

(A.N. first off wisdom for the clockwork means their processing speed and speed at which they can process information. The wisdom being ??? is because the people who became automata or machina put their mind inside a supercomputer which is the motherboard core. This resulted in their minds becoming like AI and the game can't pin a number on such a large processing power.)

These are the stats of both robot's for me and Nova, we don’t put down stats points or else we would be even stronger, this is so that if we are in a dangerous situation that needs a certain stat boost we have a super surplus since our race allows us to be many times stronger then the same person at our level which a really strong point of the clockworks if not for the fact that we need repairs. As for the others of the crew, I only know the levels, well besides for the elementals since I can check through Nova.
Bulk: 192
Surge: 191
Victor: 185
Blaze: 186
Ena: 189
Brock: 194
Annabeth: 179
Greer: 180
As for all the residents of the town, most aren’t combatants but the Clockwork knights and rogue and assassin's my town has have a range of level and it’s broken up into military ranking.
First off Surge is the General, he is much better at military tactics and planning than anyone in the crew so I put him in charge of the military. Under him are 2 Lieutenant General one for air forces and one for land forces. Below that are five Brigade General, which make up the unites of our cities forces. From there the rank drops into five captain who control a large unite within each brigade and finally the lieutenants that are in charge of all the privates.
The level range splits like this.
General = Whatever level Surge is.
Lieutenant General: 170- one level below Surge
Brigade General: 150-169
Captain: 120-149
Lieutenant: 70-119
Privates: 1-69
The reason the ranks are so broken up and don’t follow the proper ranking of a military like in the real world is because we lack the numbers for that.
We have between 200-300 knights and 50 rogues and 10 Assassins. It goes without saying that the assassin based classes are super high maintenance class and we can’t have many of them.
Still assassins are from levels 100-150 while rogues are below level 100
It's only because we have a large number of strong soldiers that we could fight through the swarms of monsters that came at us.
The elementals were also a huge help and even beyond that the clockwork animals that possess a core were some help. I developed a program to have them properly hunt each other to grow in level but I made sure that numbers can’t drop below a specific number but I don’t have to worry.
Anyway I also programmed them to have the instinct to protect Brock from harm and so when the monsters came the animals instinctively attacked and they aren’t anywhere near weak since I have slowly modified each of them giving them plans on slow improvements that have made them into monsters.
Sadly flying robots are hard to achieve and they aren’t that numerous or large but those that exist are blindingly fast like a small hummingbird robot I saw once. Its attack method relies on having its drill like beak spin as it launches itself at a vital spot on its target flying nearly at 200 meters/s but this is a burst so this only masters about 5 seconds but that is more than enough to seriously injure its target.
I guess that is mostly all there is, Victor has gone out of his way to make more Bulk smasher robot's and is constantly sparring with the latter to test this out. Also that program Brock made, the hulk program prank we pulled on Bulk, actually turned out to be useful. The reason being that the Overload skill wouldn’t normally be possible to turn on and off willingly unless your are in a rage and when all your energy and steam is used up but with the Hulk program it’s possible to control the on and off button to this skill that all knights and tanks possess.
If others knew about this fact it would send a shiver down their back thinking that our crew has an army of 300 hulks.
Well, recapping done we simply wait for the day to pass as we prepare the several boats we had found and completely repaired for trading.
We made sure to load water purification machines and we were getting the elemental leaders aboard and settled in.
They each have a box of cores of their own kind. I have already told Marine, the Undine, that this continent possess races like merfolk and Siren who live together and have some towns. She is interested in going to these towns and speaking with their leaders to offer some undine to help purify their water. The Undine and water races have a very complex relationship as the undine purify the water they live in and the purified water in turn gives the merfolk more magical abilities.
Then the elves are interested in finding places to revitalize and these merfolk towns will probably be the first stop since they already have purer water than the toxic stuff we normally see.
When night came I sent drones to scout the surrounding lands for springs and such that would also be needed to clean and to check on the level of monsters.
Come morning the ships were ready and I already had the area probed and found that this area had few beasts but further into the scrap yard there were some magical doll beasts and there were a few dungeons similar to those in the clockwork scrapyard.
Inside my own head which was the motherboard core, I open up various maps made by players of this area to check out the surroundings and then look at the level of players in this area and what races live here.
First the constructs are obvious, Merfolk, Siren, the Sylph are from this continent as well, Angel popped up on this continent, Rabbit beastmen and finally Harpies live isolated in a mountainous region to the east.
There is a post saying that treant and dryads were from this continent but died out because the NPC of these races attacked a Construct and she defended herself and it ended up causing the forest they lived in to burn killing them with it.
This is a good piece of information to pass to the Elves because the elves have a harmonious relationship with nature and alongside that are the nature races like treants and dryads. Their magic can also cause the revitalized land to birth them if it's near a large source of mana like a mana well which is an underground spring of mana.
As the sun finally touches the walls of the scrapyard I open my eyes after connecting to Yasha and Asura and head out of my room and head to the ship before entering. I tell Surge to bring a few men as guards to the ships and then call Nova. She obviously comes on the original Proto with both her bodies. The sniper was sitting while the rabbit was in beast form on her lap getting a petting.
I sigh as I see her like that and a smile smile appears on my face.
”To all men, let us set off. Be on your guard for anyone trying to sneak in, Assassins remain in Stealth mode while patrolling within the ship's interior. Two remain within the cargo at all times and two on the top deck while one monitors the interior.” I send out a message to all the surrounding men.
I have two ships and 10 assassins so 5 each ship while the knights also come and man the ships.
Yasha was in one ship while Asura was on the other and I take command of both ships as their engines start and the propellers start spinning and they lift off the ground and leave through the open whale mouth.
I hear a thump as Brock drops down onto one of the decks and then I see two small wisps floating around my head.
“Don’t leave us behind you here!” Blaze shouted.
“Sit down already you little flies!” I said as they float around my head.
“HEY!” He shouts back.
“Give it a rest Blaze, lets just enjoy this time maybe we can finally get a better body by taking control of a construct in the scraps!” Ena said.
“Nah, I want to become a true phoenix!” Blaze said as his wisp flames changed shape and became a large eagle made of flames.
“You and your stupid dreams.” She said as her flames expand and take the form of a human and it has her real features.
These two are probably the most skilled in magic manipulating because they trained so hard these last 7 months that their Fire manipulating skill was already Advanced level 8 and they can condense their flames into a solid body. The flames don't escape the body unless it's intended to so that is why Ena looks like a girl with a flaming bra and underwear but has firm red skin, two pure red eyes and long elf like ears. Only the hair on her head was still blazing and it gave her a really fiery look.
“Guys the heat in here is rising, you know transforming heats up the surroundings. Stop or we will boil!” I said glaring at them.
The two revert back to their small wisp forms. When they transform they get a boost in stats which make transforming a strong skill for them.
Brock also has it and has long since compressed his body deeply into a human shape and has sanded his own body to leave it smooth made barely looks like a golem if not for the glowing eyes and the barely visible lines that appear between the cracks that remain.
After the two leave the ships exit and soon start to descend towards the outskirts of the town. It's not a big town so and there aren’t as many ships here as there are in the clockwork nation has already been proclaimed to be the best starting nation but worst for magic users like the demon race but more have been moving the South gate city and that is slowly being fixed as they build magic schools.
With a quick command several landing pads extend from below the ship. I guess the best comparison is from that ship from futurama.
Both ships land and there is already a crowd waiting. The cargo on the side opens and forms a ramp to the ground below. The knights rush out of both ships and secure the perimeter as we begin to rapidly set up some small stands with items and products
Its now time to start negotiations and the
Siren, Merfolk and Construct leaders are already asking to talk to me and I let them through.
With the merfolk also came the group that influenced their growth the most. A construct, two halflings, a sylph and an angel dressed like a valkyrie.
Jasmine, the mayor class clockwork I made, but female and like a secretary instead of like the male type, walked forward.
“Welcome leader of the races of this continent. I am Jasmine and I will be speaking on behalf of the leader.” She said with a small bow.
They looked at me, Yasha, who was sitting down on the captain seat with Asura behind.
“Why can’t he speak himself?” The angel asked.
“Our leader suffered from trauma several years ago and only to those he considers close friends does he verbally speak. If you wish he can speak through text but he won’t compromise to speak with strangers.” She explained.
For some reason the construct behind the merman flinches before looking down.
I don’t give it much thought but I can’t help frown for a moment.
“I see… I can understand your circumstances so we won’t go much into it. We can only hope we can improve our relationship for the better in the years to come and you will eventually trust us.” The merman chief said.
I nod in return and text Jasmine.
”Begin.”
She nods.
“Well then gentlemen, shall we begin negotiations.” She said.
The next moment the door to the bridge opened and the leading elementals, Brock for the Golems, Ena for the Wisps, Marina for the Undine and Gust for the Sylph.
The people were a bit startled by the appearance but once they walked to the side we I nodded to them.
“Leaders of construct and Merpeople. We know that you both need magic and water purification. The cores of the elementals and the elementals themselves are your solution for your stagnated progress. We also have the technology to upgrade Constructs into a more advanced magic doll race. Now it’s up to you to offer us something of equal value.” Jasmine said
The two leaders looked at each other as they begin to contemplate something of equal value.
Our cards are on the table, let's see what they have and what we can grab.
Ena’s Human form but with fire panties

Agenda of the Villainess
As the daughter of a duke, Lady Alicia Senius expected to awaken her latent magical ability during her Blooming ceremony. She was not expecting her connection to the flowers of Fate to awaken memories of a past life, however, and certainly not memories that were somehow inextricably tied with her future. Now, Alicia must find a way to escape the fatal punishment that is the destiny of a villainous noble girl. In doing so, she might even alter the fate of the whole world. This novel is a steampunk take on the otome villainess genre, heavily inspired by the late Victorian era of England and with a system of magic based around floweral circuitry. If that sounds like your cup of tea, why not give it a shot? Updates on Thursday every week.
8 214A Broken World [Rewrite]
In a world of floating islands of stone in the sky, where rivers flow through the air and defy gravity from one island to another, and ancient ruins can be found containing wonders beyond what can be produced by the lands current inhabitants- a millenia long war rages. In the distant past, beyond recorded history, when the crown of humanity's glory, the city of Uri, had stood whole against the enroaching demon swarms- even as hope seemed lost, a band of heroes, against all odds, managed to steal powerful magical knowledge from the demons. With the demon's forbidden knowledge, in the heart of Uri a new ritual was made. Called, "The Millenial Summoning," the ritual had the power to call a being from another world that would have the power to change the world forever. The first being summoned became known as "The Speaker," and he brought the power of the Gods to the world. With the blessings and power of the new priests, the unstoppable demon hordes were finally halted. A thousand years later, the ritual was used again and "The First Sorceress" was brought to the world. She brought the knowledge of advanced magics, and techniques to find and refine magical talent. With the magic power now added to the battlefield, the stalemate was broken. And for the first time, the demons were pushed back. Another thousand years later, and all of humanites hope for a final victory were dashed. Traitors slew the ritual's participants and took their places, and humanity quaked as The Demon King stepped into the world. His name, his nature, where he came from none of these are known, but what is known is his overwhelming power and his brilliant strategic leadership of the formerly formless hordes. Still, despite their position being even more dire than it has ever been since history has been recorded, humanity held on for another thousand years. Aided, thankfully, by The Demon King not taking the field after the first few years and battles. Now, the ritual is being cast again and a new hero is being summoned. In our world, after nearly three decades of study and hard work, Lucas Jaeger is making his dreams come true. With a double doctorate in both genetics and microbiology, as well as an associates degree in accounting, he has finally, after nearly driving himself mad from stress and sick from overwork, been able to put to together a presentation and ask for a business loan. His long time dream, earned by his own blood and sweat, to start his own commercial genetic company is finally coming to fruition. Lucas's car never left the banks parking lot and Lucas was never seen again in our world. This is a rewrite of "A Broken World." It is basically the same story, just a thousand times better and with decent length chapters!
8 189The Magic Swordsman
Clearing the most difficult mode of an RPG game called ?The Invasion Of The Demon King?, Hiro Miyagawa unlocked a new difficulty, the ?Hardcore Mode?. Pressing the "Yes" Button, a sudden white light flashed on the screen of the TV, forcing him to close his eyes. Due to the lack of sleep from playing the game three days in a row, Hiro fell asleep and reincarnated into Theo Regnard the moment he woke up. As the support character of the game ?The Invasion Of The Demon King?, Theo Regnard was destined to die at the beginning of the game. Refusing this kind of fate happening to him, he resolved himself to become stronger and walk into an unknown road instead of choosing the supposed "Good Ending". This is the story of a man who was cursed by the demon god, a story of a fallen prince who has chosen the path filled with blood and revenge, a story of a support character who became the main character, a story of the man called Theo Regnard. Author Note This is a slow-paced story and the first book that I'm writing. I hope that those who are interested in that book can find the enjoyment they were looking for.
