《Clockwork》Volume 3 Chapter 20 Life Experience

It’s been two months already since we arrived. North gate city is coming along well enough.
Delta for some reason has been an ass for a while already. He keeps bitching about random stuff and whenever I need a new core he makes it too animal like and it doesn’t pay attention.
Anyway the boars have been a rather nice addition to the environment. Not just for the terrain itself but for all the clockwork animals and the current monster population.
They have grown larger to about the size of the bulls which is rather intimidating if you think about it but because of this all the monsters are interested in it. They focus on them the most because they are a good size for shells. They also have a very fast birth rate which has caused the monsters to actively hunt them and equally they grew strong from adapting to this and have begun to push back but still die in large number.
Bulls have turned wild and no longer pay attention to me, besides those I keep inside the ship and take care of. The shepherd of this town has been concerned because they are rapidly growing into dangers because of the strength of both the large creatures.
They are both rather territorial and attack use players but small animals don’t seem to have problems with the bull but the boars attack them.
Pack animals like wolves have diverted into two types now. One went savage and now is wild wolves that roam the land and then there are dogs which are smaller and prefer to remain close to town or even inside it. They are docile but hate bad people and they learned to make out who is which.
They are good companions that players that have come out here like to have.
Now then as I mentioned, the crabs make interesting shells that can be used for diving. It’s solidified mucus they spit out and is as strong as the steel that makes up their boar iron shells.
As you can expect they are now much stronger as well. From the 190-200 levels before they were elevated to 220-235 which is a substantial change. Most smaller animals have also begun adapting and are a big part of the environment which has made the area flursh. Though the area has become very swampy. Revitalizing the land plus adding the boars who actually do use the mud to help cool their body made the many hidden springs pop up.
The water was very contaminated obviously but it was expected. Scans of the water originally showed about 70% contamination but revitalizing the land has been slowly bringing that down and the Undine have already spread throughout the swamp.
They don’t breed more in this water but instead they slowly cleanse the land around it making the quality slowly rise. The return of plants and such are also helping to clean the waters and in maybe another month they will be able to breed in this area.

The Sylph has much more trouble making his own kind though. He can make it but it's a hassle and is time consuming. For a single Sylph he needs to make a vacuum bubble then fill it with the proper proportions before breeding the sylph.
It takes a considerable amount of mana. The first few Sylph he made were very small like the Will o wisps and don’t hold any human like shape. They are rather weak as well and need to train and absorb mana to grown.
As you can already guess this resulted in Blaze and Ena doing the same thing. They have been depressed that they were left behind by Brock who become a really awesome spirit.
If they aren’t out fighting the slugs who are naturally weak against them since they use their fire to dry it up, they are floating over brock's fins which were each Crystallized mana. Yep the supply has grown so large that his fins turned completely into mana. He was also cultivating his mana which is why the mana crystals in his body grew to such a large amount which allowed me and Victor some leeway in using a larger amount of them.
In terms of difficulty of this town, I would say that it’s not so high. There are much less dangerous the in Westgate. The slugs are a bitch though, they want to exit the gate which forced us to bomb the wall a few kilometers away opening a path for them. The area was obviously within the Boars territory. They have a large birth rate which is a problem in of itself and so we pushed a new predator on them.
We have been working to produce salt from the sea water nearby. There is a lot of impurities that we need to remove before getting the salt water and it would still be too polluted to consume which is making this rather hard.
As for diving into the water, I have been trying to develop something with in. At first I thought of making armor to put over my body but that would obstruct my weapons. It was looking at Proto and Strato that I came up with the idea for a new defender model.
The biggest of the three models it is a kind of submarine robot which can fit anything the size of a human or worker type clockwork inside it’s chest.
For anything non clockwork a screen appears in front of them but a clockwork will simply look through the eyes in the front. There is no head and the arms and legs are small and bulky as they have body shift to turn into propellers like the one found in the air ships.
I had wanted to make Shift drones to build it but while planning I found that the plates that make up the exterior which MUST be waterproof and won't let leaks pass wouldn’t hold up. In the end we had to make it a robot whose body was already a sub and be able to go in.

It can’t go deep nor do we want to since the water is too murky to see through. The water is simply too polluted to see into besides a few meters in.
We didn’t spot any new monsters and we presume the crabs are one of the few that can survive down there. The subs aren’t that good and the corrosive water doesn’t allow for long excursions underwater.
Just so you know the seawater can barely be called that with so much pollution. If we call it a slush it's better. 100% contamination of the sea water. Well 99% now that the springs were being cleaned out.
If we had space near the shores I would have loved to add a cleaning facility but there are simply too many monsters to do so.
To this point the fighting and leveling is good, still I wonder why we get so little Exp after a while.
I have wondered about why we stop getting exp from such high leveled monsters and so I searched the forums for the answer. Still having access is nice so when I had the time I looked and finally found it when someone asked the Admins of Life company about it.
Excuse me but can you explain why we get lots of experience from higher level mobs only after we first meet them and maybe the first week?Greetings,
The reason for this is the system we invented for Etheria. It is know as the Life experience system. The way it works is simple. When you meet a new monster you are still not used to its attacks, attack patterns, skills, abilities and so on. You get the highest percentage of exp when still learning about them.
It isn’t just fighting but crafting and doing new things in general. Also if you are in a life and death situation against a monster you already know, they can show different habits, if they attack in groups it's another new experience.
In short you gain max exp by experiencing, discovering or doing new things.
If you have further questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
Admin.
Yep, it made so much sense now, in other words we gain exp by experiencing life itself. Doing new things and living life to its fullest. It can work in many ways not just monster killing. If I think about it, maybe for me even talking more openly with my crew or talking with others may even count for that.
I don’t really plan to test that theory though. Not like I am in a hurry to speak with strangers.
Well that is pretty much all that happened, the lack of substantial enemies is rather boring but we are still building defense systems around the town to protect against the monsters and I can see the bulls and boars eventually becoming monsters as well.

This is such a pain. Ariel’s restriction made so many things much harder. Not to mention I can’t interact with technology besides what Techno, Nova, Gaia, Rust and Bulk use.
I’ve experimented with what I can and can’t do and found that the seal doesn’t seem to seal my ability to send out signals of any kind.
I thought of what to do and started looking through all the clockwork. Thankfully there were a large number of players around. Many have entered into banditry but most groups are weak and low and arms.
Simply having techno to talk to isn’t fun. His serious closed off nature is hard to talk to and he only uses me to make his animals which has been declining as he covers more and more animals he has stored away.
Eventually he might simply stop talking to me besides using me to contact Gaia.
And since I'm currently really bored I think I should have some fun. I looked through all this miscrits I that had the virus program which I couldn’t send texts through anymore.
What I was looking for someone similar to techno. A person who was calculative but could follow suggestions.
My “fun” might hurt quite a number of people but I want put a dent into Techno’s pride as well as get someone to the center of the scrap yard. Someone with my original program and not a virus.
I eventually find my target who isn’t actually a bandit and more like a vigilante and has three allies on his small ship but is quite good at crafting weaponry.
He seems to have a working map system on his ship so I go ahead and send an SOS signal which sets off the alert in his ship showing it received it.
“Time to have some fun.”

Took that idiot long enough to get a move on it.
Alpha is an idiot as well for not even trying to spread further. Can’t blame her since the Cybers still have organic breeding but the large number is still substantial enough to make some more villages to discover some more tech.
Even so they are quite powerful so let's just enjoy the fun and move ahead.
I turn to the two floating cores I made myself. In my eyes two different races, connected by the same core yet so different. I wonder how the world will change when these two races are born.
I can’t wait. Come on boys show me what you got.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
