Techno PoV

The giant black golem looked side to side slowly with a frown as if looking at bugs.

Menthol: 'Tiny little bugs. Do you know how much damage you caused my body?!'

No one replied since we could see he was hot headed at the moment. Speaking a single word would annoy him.

He simply stared at us for a long moment.

Victor: 'He is a boss monster so shouldn't we kill it?'

Techno: "Everyone retreat. Return to the ship right now"

Bulk: "What's going on?"

Techno: "Check your mission."

I was looking at it myself.

Mission: Monster Mayhem Complete

You have survived the monster attack and they have now retreated back within the elemental.

Reward: Familiarity with Draconian and Tiger Men, 6x levels

Mission Update

Mission: Guardian Rampage

The great elemental Menthol has been greatly angered because of the warring between the Draconian and Tiger men as well as your own use of weapons on him.

After his attempt to rid the draconian who were the first invaders, since he lived in peace with the tiger people, he grew even more displeased as everyone began draining the minerals from his body to prepare for war.

With his rage, he has released his second body as well as the guardian of his elemental core, to whip out all sentient beings on him. You must escape with the draconian and tiger men before you are all whipped out.

Reward: ???

Difficulty: C+

Success: Escape without dying.

Failure: Everyone dies.

(A.N. SRY forgot to add a difficulty level for first quest. It is ranked D++ i added it after i noticed it.)

A C+ rank mission and that is only getting away. I’m sure if it was fighting this thing it would easily reach B++ or higher.

Techno: ”Bulk! Help me find Nova before she does anything. Nova where are you. Come back to the ship it's not safe.”

It took a while before I got a reply.

Nova: ”This giant thing is so awesome. But why is he so grouchy.”

Techno: ”Where are you Nova!?”

Nova: …”At the big guys foot.”

As soon as my eyes flew in that direction with both Yasha and Asura looking that way both scanned and we found her signal right on top of the tallest tree closest to the Black Giant Golem.

If we were anything else besides an artificial being we would have turned ghostly pale.

Techno: NOVA!! GET AWAY FROM HIM RIGHT NOW OR I WILL MAKE YOU COME BACK HERE AND I WILL LOCK ALL YOUR THINGS UNTIL THE NEXT TIME WE GO BACK TO VIRTUAL CITY!!”

There wasn’t a reply but I saw the protector jump really high.

I could only pale as I saw the giant look down at here.

Nova PoV

I had Proto jump really high after bro said that dumb line. I breathe in really deep and as we both got as high as we could i screamed out.

Nova: ‘HEY~~~~~!! OLD MAN~~~! WHY ARE YOU SO GRUMPY~~~!!’

I don’t know if my voice reached him since he is really big but as we fell back down towards the tree I looked up and saw the big glowing eyes on the giant guy look down.

Menthol: ‘You called me an old man brat. What do you want.’

Nova: ‘Why are you so grumpy?’

Menthol: ‘Why? WHY? Look around brat. All this damage was caused by you brats. This is my body and you all started burning all the trees and use the iron and other minerals making me weaker!’

Nova: ‘Well, I don’t know about minerals but wasn’t it you who sent all those big monsters to attack?’

Menthol: ‘...Yes it was so. You all were already fighting?’

Nova: ‘But we didn’t even use half the stuff we used to save those lizard guys. Also didn’t you make that big hole behind yourself?’

He looked back at the massive crater he made from the inside of the whale body.

Menthol: ‘Don’t try to shift the blame brat. You all were fighting and it annoyed me.’

Nova: ‘Pff ahahaha you’re worse than my little cousin! It’s harder to make fun of him then it is to do the same to you.’

I fell back on Proto’s back laughing and waving my legs as I hold my belly laughing with all I got.

The big guy began to murmur and even started to yell like a little kid.

Menthol: ‘Stop laughing you brat! IT’S NOT FUNNY!! GRR AHHH STOP LAUGHING.’

I stopped because he started to hit the ground and it shook everything.

Nova: ‘Wow! Someone so big is just a big baby. Why if you had just asked the lizard guys to go away I’m sure you could have saved everyone a lot of trouble.’

He couldn’t reply back to that. He even sat down after doing something that closed the big hole and sat cross-legged.

He then looked at me and tilted his head.

Menthol: ‘Are you really a kid? You sound like an adult already.’

Nova: ‘I’m only 8 years old? Why do I sound like an old lady to you?’

Menthol: ‘No, you sound more like an old friend of mine. He was just like you.’

We began to talk after he started to calm down. He was fun to talk to but after a while I started to get bro’s text again. It was annoying so I just turned off that thing the brings the messages up.

Techno PoV

I don’t know if I should be impressed or scared of Nova now.

First she caught the attention of the giant, pissed him off, made him have a childish tantrum and now she is talking to him like best friends. Does she have some kind of skill to calm down smart monsters. Maybe it's simply because she is a child.

Still it’s scary to see her chatting so casually. It’s not like I let that stand though. I message her some more but she eventually cuts the chat.

I gave up since I can’t climb that high and if I teleport her now it would anger the giant again. So instead I have all the tiger men and draconian gather in the draconian village.

We sent Greer to go get the remaining 40 that were in hiding and were anxiously watching as Nova just talked to Menthol. No one could speak as they simply watched the giant lay down and rest his head on his arm while having Nova sitting on the Protector who was on the top of the tree.

Every last one of them were scared of how easily she calmed and distracted him so we simply packed everything. I was going to transport them someplace. Maybe the elf forest would fit both of them well enough. From what I heard, the elves have begun to accept some forms of technologies inside their forest but mostly stuff that helps improve the wellbeing of the forest itself.

I try to connect to Nova but am swatted away again which makes me sigh and sit down with both my bodies and hang my head.

Bulk: 'Oi, what's with that mood?'

Techno: 'Nova.'

I simply point at the giant who has already forgotten about us all. I've already begun wondering if all ancient beings are all like this. Seriously, Gaia is a total bitch and an annoyingly childish one that likes to piss me off. Delta is similar to her but he likes pissing Gaia off, which i enjoy watching. And now this guy.

Is something wrong with these ancient monsters to act so childish. I can only guess that they got bored of acting like grown adults and revered to a more childish personality.

I couldn't help but curse out loud. Those around me looked strangely my way since they knew i never talked.

We couldn't do anything about it except wait for Nova to finish talking.

Sometimes we would hear the giant yell and scream while having a tantrum while other times he would laugh loudly enough to wake everyone. Most of us went to sleep seeing this would go on for a long time.

The sun was starting to rise when i gave up. And with both bodies left the ship and walked towards where Nova was.

The scars from battle last night was still visible but already plants were growing. I guess he must be feeding it magic to regenerate. So much for us causing trouble.

As i neared the place his head was i could hear Nova talking.

Techno: ‘NOVA!!! WE ARE LEAVING! HE DOESN’T WANT US HERE LET’S GO!’

My voice echo’s up to both of them and they look down.

Nova: ‘AUUHHH~~~!! Bro do we have to go!!’

Techno: ‘He doesn’t want us here so we are leaving.’

She looked at the giant who began blinking several times before something clicked and he seem to remember why he was even there.

Menthol: ‘Ah that’s right, i was about to whip all of you out for causing damage to my body.’

He sits up and looks around at the healing scars before scratching his cheek.

Menthol: ‘Even if I wanted to now I don’t really care about it since i actually forgot about you all. Still, I would be hard pressed to actually let them all remain here if they continued fighting.’

Techno: ”Nova say this for me. What do you want in return for letting them stay. I don’t know what you would want so say something. I really don’t want to bring more people with me.”

He started to look around then his eyes stopped on my floating anchored ship over the draconian village.

Menthol: ‘Hmm. I feel the faint presence of several elemental cores from your ship. Do you have intact cores?’

Techno: ”We have a golem and 2 fire elementals who learned some time ago to create cores.”

Menthol: ‘I see. Then if you hand over all the cores from both elemental races and make the two races sign a magic peace treaty in my presence then i would allow them to remain. Any other way they would have to leave.’

I nod.

Techno: ”What about taking minerals from your body?”

Menthol: ‘Figure something out. I don’t want them mining my body.’

I frowned before I started to think for a long way. I sat cross legged with both bodies and soon Nova jumped down to tree and landed next to me.

Nova: ‘Hey bro, if its metal you want why not just go back to that junk place we started at? If we get Gaia to give the kitties and lizards some boats they can go and get stuff for themselves.’

I really am proud of my little sister. Not only is her recklessness saving us but she even remembered about the near infinite sized clockwork scrapyard which would take hundreds of years to completely clear out.

Techno: ‘Good idea. But that won’t make your punishment any worse later.’

She blinked a bit before looking up and then back before pouting.

Techno: ”Can i have time to talk with the people involved?”

Menthol: ‘As long as no more wars happen I don’t care.’

I nod before overriding Nova’s control over the Protector. When it started to walk without her control she started to throw a tantrum but i quickly locked all her weapons which made it worse.

Techno: ‘This is for disobeying me when i told you to come back.’

When she jumped off and started to run towards Menthol I had the protector grab her and bring her with it.

I was too tired to even care about her whining.

We returned to the village.

The sun was already up by the time we got back and everyone was already moving everything around.

I made the protector bring Nova with me as we made contact with the two race leaders.

Draconian Chief: ‘Oh your back...And you brought the only person keeping the giant from killing us. Why is she here?’

Techno: ”Pass the message chief. Menthol has agreed to allow both of your races to remain here on the condition that you perform a magic peace treaty in his presence.”

At once there was a wave of murmurs from everyone. Both chiefs frowned as well.

Tiger Chief: ‘Do you know what a magic peace treaty is?’

I shook my head.

Tiger Chief: ‘Is a kind of treaty that would bind both parties completely and they can never have conflict as long as they live on the same land. It’s only used by the friendly groups who know the other would never backstab.’

Draconian Chief: ‘Hump. Don’t send indirect insults beast.’

Techno: ”You can do it or you leave. I don’t plan on taking anyone with me. I will take the tiger men only to the ground below Menthol and that is it. So what will it be. A polluted wasteland where there is almost no clean water or food or a bountiful paradise where all you need to do is ignore or work with your neighbor.”

There wasn’t even a need for extra choices but the thing known as pride was the biggest pain in the ass getting in the way here. Luckily there were two powerful weapons that arrived just in time to break that.

Greer: ‘Dad, i think we should do it. Our race has lived here since long ago. We don’t know anything about the land below so it’s best to accept the offer.’

Annabeth: ‘I also agree. I don’t want to return to the wastelands being nomads hunting the least contaminated monsters. We didn’t even need to enslave the tiger men in the first place. It was just yours and all the grownups stupid pride at listening to old legends of how the dragon and tiger were enemies and rivals.’

Two low blows coming from the daughters of these men made them sigh deeply. They looked at each other and I could see sparks flashing between them. I think it was more a personal problem than a racial one.

Techno: ”Choose NOW before the giant golem changes his mind.”

Draconian Leader: ‘*sigh* Fine. If they will do it then I can accept if it’s for our race.’

Tiger Chief: ‘As will I. We still have a problem since we don’t have materials and iron to advance without mining his body.’

Techno: ”I will resolve that later. For now everyone let’s go do the peace treaty before anything unexpected can happen.”

Without wasting time I took everyone to the golem. I made sure to grab all the remaining intact golem cores to hand over as well.

It was a small price to pay to get away from this quest without even having to do much.

As we arrive i saw the golem had his hand on the ground with his eyes closed. When we arrived at his hand he slowly lifted it up revealing a really large magic circle that was forming where his hand was.

Menthol: ‘Since you are all here it seems you all agree to do the treaty.’

Tiger Chief: ‘Yes we do.’

The golem nodded then pointed at the circle.

Menthol: ‘The leaders of the race stand in the circle.’

The two chiefs walked in.

Menthol: ‘Ok then just shake hands and say “I accept this treaty for peace”

The two shook like instructed by, I could tell they were forcing themselves greatly to do so.

Both: ‘I accept this treaty for peace.’

The magic circle began glowing brightly and many ribbons of light started to shoot up before slowly falling down onto all the remaining draconian and tiger men.

Menthol: ‘It is done. Now then clockwork. Where are the elemental cores you promised?’

I walked over and dropped them in his extended hand. They were all quickly absorbed into his hand. He turned his hand around and placed it on the ground away from the group and slid it along the ground.

Trees and plants were all raced and uprooted leaving bare earth.

From it all slowly many little earth dolls were created and shooting up fast were many little fire wisps.

Menthol: ‘With this your part of the deal is done. I will allow you all to remain here but you can’t mine my minerals since i would grow weaker.’

Techno: ”Do you control where you fly?”

Menthol: ‘Yes i do.’

Techno: ”Then can you fly around close to the scrapyard filled with clockworks. I want to bring ships from below for these two races. They would then be able to go down and gather scrap metal to work with.”

Menthol: ‘That scrapyard sticks to high hell but i can stay around for one day once a week. Anymore would be too repulsive.’

I looked at the two race leaders. They were grinning and nodding.

Techno: ”That’s fine with them and us.”

Menthol: ‘Good it’s all set then. I will return to my own great body. Don’t cause more trouble for me. Oh and soon these golems will set up trade with your groups. I know that the golem races were destroyed so i will be restoring these two groups.’

With that the giant black body began returning into the earth and the elementals entered into a large hole that opened up.

We all returned to the draconian village.

Tiger Chief: ‘We can’t thank you enough for your help. Yours and your sisters. You’re a true miracle that brought peace to our people.’

Draconian Chief: ‘It’s a shame we don’t have anything that can repay you with the same value for what you have done.’

Bulk: ‘Hehe we didn’t expect anything in return. With the world as it is, it would be amazing if you had anything besides your basic needs.’

The two men chuckled.

Annabeth: ‘Even so it would be improper for you to leave without getting a proper reward.’

Greer: ‘Yes. You did so much for both races.’

Nova: ‘Ah Greer this was where you were.’

Nova ran over to the tiger girl and began scratching under her chin and behind her left ear. In moments the girl was losing strength as a sense of bliss spread over here.

Tiger Chief: ‘Greer? Did you get a name?’

Victor: ‘We just gave her a nickname since we didn’t know what to call her. It would have been strange to always call her tiger girl or something like that.’

The elder man nodded understanding the reasons. But for some reason i saw a small glint of mischievousness in his eye.

Annabeth: ‘Wow it’s that easy to tame a tiger man. Who knew.’

Victor: ‘Wonder if you want the same thing to happen to you by the four armed Techno. You were staring at him during the battle that it looked lik...urg.’

Annabeth: ‘SHUT UP YOU LITTLE MIDGET WHO ASKED YOU ANYTHING!!!!’

I suddenly felt a sense of dread and I looked at the two village chief. They were normal but something told me otherwise.

Tiger Chief: ‘Thinking about it. The greatest treasure of any person is their own daughter.’

Draconian Chief: ‘Yes, from the looks of it the girls also seem to like you all.’

I felt my gears freeze over as i listen to the two men.

Tiger chief: ‘I think it’s for the best. The best reward we can give you all is our own daughters. Please take care of them for us in your travels.’

Draconian Chief: ‘Yes I agree. My daughter has been too sheltered so I believe following such a great group like yours she will open up. Please take care of my daughter as well.’

They both bowed but before I could shout no my worst nightmare appeared before me.

Mission: Guardian Rampage Alternate ending complete

Through ingenuity, your crew was able to speak with, and calm down Menthol before he could begin his rampage. Afterwards you were even able to make a deal with him

Through the deal, you have successfully created peace between the Draconian and Tiger Beast man race and were able to remain on the Menthol’s main body. Not only that, you have supplied Menthol with elemental cores which, under his care, would grow into proper golems that would rebuild the earth and fire elemental race.

Reward: 10x level, Companions Annabeth and Greer, Max intimacy with Draconian and Tiger Beast men race, Unlocked the races, Draconian and Beast men (Tiger)

Annabeth & Greer: ‘NO WAY I’M GOING. I’M NOT A PRIZE TO BE GIVEN AWAY.’

Techno: ‘AND I’M NOT TAKING.’

With that single line i turned with both bodies and dragged Nova with the protector back onto the ship without hearing anyone’s complaints.
