《The Devil in White: An Awakened Aspirations Online Series》174. Understandably Exhausted

There were several loose ends. Most of them were handled by Vienne.
The Research Laboratory was re-opened using Vienne’s power, at the insistence of Mordred and several other Transients. Without the weird universal kidnapping scheme. Vienne implied she would consider opening portals for other worlds to explore the Research Laboratory at another date. The Research Laboratory would be opened under the new premise of a multi-dimensional dungeon that anyone could explore. Uncharted with dynamic drop tables and leveling.
Minus the really creepy stuff.
If someone wanted to leave there was no surrender nonsense.
There was no communication blackout either.
Obligatory nice.
All the Residents who forgot who Amelia were soon remembered. Vienne had mentioned that there was a memory spell in place, and she could have ended it when they returned the first time but had feared that the Residents would all just march into battle for their Empress with no thought to safety and no plan.
Queen Victoria, who seemed very angry at forgetting Amelia and the fact that Vienne could have fixed it, informed her that she darn tootin’ would have marched her whole army down into Blutonsi had that been the case. Vienne squinted at the heroic half, trying to understand why Victoria would tell her that she had been correct, but also still wrong.
Suffer well Vienne.
Mordred and Amelia agreed to extend the armistice for a week. Everyone was giddy, exhausted, and ready for a break for the most part. Elisha had shown up at some point and suggested that Mordred had extended the armistice for so long because she had a flying ship(she added ‘of death’).
Mordred looked at Vienne, starting to ask about removing the enchantments that let the Cloudkill stay in the air when the flask had been recharged, but she had given him a really Vienne-like response.

“Nay. Let it continue to fly. If you should gather an airship under similar circumstances then a boon of flight yours would receive as well.” Vienne had responded coyly.
Amelia thought that was pretty funny. Good luck having a ship or plane show up in a battle where a god(half-god), needed your firepower!
Mordred asked what Amelia planned to do next, and she had an easy answer.
Amelia sat on the throne.
She decided that she disliked this throne.
Not enough to have Aidan give her a spell to blow it to smithereens, but she did hate it.
“Stupid Mordred,” She said again. Her plan was just to sit here until the war was over. If they made it into the throne room she would just let them murder her, she really didn’t care.
“We could just leave?” Aidan said nonchalantly.
“No, no. I give Imperial’s bonuses for sitting here. Let Mordred keep that constipated look on his face the whole time I’m sitting here. That’s worth it to me.”
“My liege is a vengeful ruler,” Aidan said after a moment.
“Be quiet dear one,” Amelia sighed, “lest I drop a profound spell upon you.”
“No, mercy my Empress!” Aidan gasped, mock holding a hand to his chest. “Think of the damage to the Palace!”
“Don’t threaten me with a good time…” Amelia muttered.
“Speaking of a good time, who do you think will have enough points to become the new ruler?” Aidan asked.
“I don’t care. I really don’t,” Amelia shrugged. “I just want Elias Thompkins and everyone else to stop asking me questions and leave me alone. Worst thing I ever did, saving everyone.”
Aidan just looked at her for a long moment, slowly turning away afterward.
“What?”
“You need a nap,” he said calmly.
“I do need a nap!” She realized. She slouched in the chair. She could nap here, right?
