《Orc Lord》50. The First Meeting with Expansionist Orcs

The two guests sat around the fire with the rest of us. The food wasn't done cooking just yet, so it was a good time for introductions.
“I'm Vyra, what are your names?”
“I is Irsha,” the W*W Orc said promptly.
“I is Varoon,” said the male Orc.
I nodded and gestured for the guys on my side to introduce themselves.
“Fiara… pleasure to meet you.”
“Urmsur.”
“Dodoran.”
“Kelk.”
Oh, so those were the other two’s names. Well, I'm sure I'll forget them again.
“We’re from a Neutral village. Being around here… are you maybe from an Expansionist village?”
“Yup, that right,” Irsha nodded. “Varoon migrated from a Neutral village. We is going to visit someone there before fighting starts again.”
“I see… Sorry if this is a rude question. Irsha, what kind of Orc are you? I've never seen someone who looks like you before.”
“Really?” She pounded her chest and smiled proudly. “Then you has seen your first War Orc.”
Eh?! That's a War Orc? From momma’s description, I thought they would look like wild boars…
“Hm? What? Is you shocked?”
“S-sorry. I was told about War Orcs, but I thought they would look more like wild boars…”
“You is thinking of Wild Orcs, not War Orcs.”
Wha-- So they do exist?!
“What about you two?” Irsha alternated pointing her finger between Fiara and myself. “I not seen evolutions like you either.”
“I'm a Wisdom Orc,” Fiara said. “I specialize in magic.”
“Hoh, so you is Magic caster. And what is you?”
Eh? She’s still looking at me?
“N-no, I'm just an ordinary Orc.”
“Hm?” Irsha tilted her head almost ninety degrees and scrutinized me closely. “Don't believe you.”

“No, it's true. The chief is a standard Orc,” Fiara came to my defense.
“Eh?! Chief? Is she mean you is chief of a village?”
Ah, she found something else to focus on. “Yes. I fought the previous chief and won, so now I'm the chief.”
“Why you is so far from your village? You should protecting it.”
“No, the former chief is there. He’s watching things while I'm gone. I came out here to investigate about the War Monkeys that suddenly entered our territory. We needed to know if there was anything that could be a threat to the village.”
“Ah! I know why. Does you want me to tell you?”
“?! Yes, please! We only saw the aftermath so we weren't sure what caused it.”
“Mm, mm.” Irsha nodded and crossed her arms. “Right now, fighting is stopped because of Fomors’ summer tribute. Our tribes is use that time for evolving lots of Orcs. War Orcs make necklace from teeth and claws of first kill. Since War Monkeys has good fangs, they is the favorite to hunt for the ceremony. This time, lots of Orc evolve. We kill lots of War Monkey at once, so they run off.”
“Eh?! That was why?”
Oops, I said that out loud didn't I? I clear my throat to regain some dignity.
“Anyway, we decided we would just kill all of them that intruded into our territory, since they’ve already killed some weaker Orcs. Actually, a group of them already took out a chief--”
“Wait! Killing all is too much?! If just left for until after the summer tribute ends, they will coming back.”
“… Are you sure?”
“Yup. We scares them off every summer. This time is just they run a little farther.”

… Honestly, causing so much trouble over something so stupid. I let out a long sigh.
“Haah… Fine already. We’ll still hunt the ones we see, but we won't go out of our way to kill them all. Is that fine?”
“Yes! It is good, thank you!”
“Won't it still be problem if other chiefs decide to hunting them all down?” Varoon mentioned.
“Eh? Ah… Yup. That bad.”
“I think maybe they’ll leave it alone if I ask them to.”
“Why?” Varoon countered. “Is there reason for them should listen to you? You is maybe new chief, but Orc chiefs is stubborn, you know? Just asking will not enough.”
“Yeah, but since I won the chief battle, I think they’ll make an exception for me.”
Ah, my tone came out a little cold on accident. Varoon looks shocked. Time for a topic change.
“By the way, if you're going to Faok’s village, I killed him during the chief battle, so his tribe has moved into my village. Ramsule’s village also lost their chief to War Monkeys, so things are a bit messy there.”
Somehow I think I only half succeeded with my topic change. Well, Varoon seems to have recovered somewhat.
“No, we is going to Durghan’s village, so it fine.”
““Eh?”” Myself and Fiara both exclaimed at the same time.
“Hm? Is something wrong about Durghan’s Village too?” Irsha tilted her head and asked.
“Ah, Durghan is the chief I defeated. That place is Vyra’s Village now.”
“?!”
Varoon is simply speechless, but Irsha breaks out into a grin.
“Oh! We has such a coincidence! Say, the person we is looking for likes to move around lots. If you is chief, can you tell us if she still there?”
“Ah, I have a bit of trouble with names, to be honest, but if I know I'll tell you.”
Irsha grinned and elbowed Varoon a couple times. He recovered himself and swallowed.
“Does you know if a woman named Oolga still living in that village?”
Eh? Some of momma’s friends from back when she was running around everywhere? This guy… did he maybe have a crush on her? Ah, wait, he’s a male Orc though. I'd better check, just to make sure.
“... Yeah, she is… But what do you want with my mom?”
Varoon’s jaw dropped and the merry look on Irsha’s face was overtaken by a stunned one.
“You is…” she started talking, but then immediately turned her attention to Varoon. He suddenly looks horribly depressed, so Irsha starts trying to comfort him.
… Can somebody please explain to me what is going on?

Magriculture
When Aurum Industries announced the first Full Immersion Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (FIVRMMORPG if you're hip) Limitless Online, most people saw it as an opportunity to live out their sword and sorcery fantasies. John, however, saw it as the opening of a new and as of yet uncrowded job market. One he was willing, and eager, to exploit. Determined to make money through virtual hard work and effort, John sets his sights not on the heights of magic or the perfection of the sword, but instead upon the tilling of the soil and the sowing of seeds as he explores the wide and wonderful world of magical agriculture all from the comfort of his own bed. Disclaimer: This is, at best, a very rough draft. I have already had to do one major rewrite and several minor rewrites of entire sections of the story, and it is a virtual certainty I will have to do re-writes again. Such changes may be as small as editing a few numbers (such as going back and changing how much mana an object holds) or it may force me to re-write entire chapters (this has happened once already, and I'm really hoping it doesn't happen again, but... life). Minor re-writes will probably never be posted here. Major rewrites probably will.Anyway, what this boils down to is: If you're looking for a fully cohesive story with few to no errors and publisher level editing, this is not the story for you. If your looking for a cohesive plot that's more than "Man farms, man farms, man farms well, man maybe makes money" you're probably also in the wrong place, but I will attempt to entertain you anyway.

A D&D Gamer in Garweeze Wurld
He doesn't know how he got here, and while the trappings are familiar, he doesn't actually know where he is, either. From the perspective of those around him, Duromar is a half-ogre barbarian, an uncivilized brute by any standard you care to use. But from his perspective, he's a character created in a gaming system. From either one, he must live within the rules of that system. This is the story of a gamer who ends up in a game that's just a bit off from what he knows. ---- I wanted to write something a little bit old-school. Most of the LitRPG I've found seems to be based on computer RPG styled stories. Progression through levels is fast, and depending on the game, skills and even attributes can be trained with or without class levels. This wasn't true with the older pen and paper games, and that's the style of leveling I wanted to write.
