Chapter 4
Cersei Lannister stormed into the small council room with the fury of a true Baratheon Queen. "Out!" she yelled as the doors banged open. "All of you, out! Now!"
I smiled. People acting the way I expect them to always gives me a good, warm feeling.
I was crowned and anointed the King of the Seven Kingdoms not three days ago, and I'd seen my mother and my potential bride, Margaery Tyrell, talking in the upper gallery after the ceremony. Margaery came to me that night, just like in the show, and there had been no Ser Pounce to interfere this time. She had also come every night since, and the whispers afterward were as soft and subtle as I'd expect from the granddaughter of Olenna Tyrell. It was only a matter of saying a few words to certain maids and servants, and here was Cersei.
The usual suspects scurried out of the room in the face of my raging mother. Varys tittered behind his hands; Pycelle hobbled; Mace blustered and sweated, but stayed behind precisely as long as Oberyn Martell did—who lazily picked up his cup of dornish red and smirked his way out of the room—as a supposed show of importance.
Tywin Lannister was, of course, unmoved and unamused by his daughter. He was sitting to my right—a fitting place for the Hand of the King—but to anyone present in the room it had been clear who was leading the meeting. I'd been silent most of the time, taking the measure of a real small council gathering, listening and learning from what was categorically the best and worst of the Seven Kingdoms.
Before I left my grandfather for the day, however, I would see the flow of power changed. Tywin Lannister would no longer be in full control of the Kingdoms, even if I doubted I'd escape his ever-reaching influence as easily as I planned. Cersei's interruption was just a poor entertainment before the main feast.

As the doors closed behind the bumbling Mace Tyrell, the Queen Mother glared at me from across the council table. "I will not be sent away like a dying horse for its final ride, do you hear me? I am the Queen."
"But mother," I started, putting on my best innocent look. "I thought you would like to visit Casterly Rock again. I know how hard Joffrey's death has been to you. To all of us. Perhaps you should—"
"It was that little flower bitch, wasn't it?" Cersei's beautiful face contorted into a nasty snarl. Her true colors always came out in times like these. "What has that tart been hissing to you, Tommen? What does she whisper in your ear when she milks your cock at night?"
Many, many things, I wanted to say. Instead, I just faked a groan. "Mother, please…"
"What is the meaning of this, Cersei?" asked Tywin in a clipped tone.
She turned on her father. "That Tyrel whore has been visiting your golden little grandson every night since his coronation. And now, suddenly, he wants to send me to Casterly Rock on some made up charity mission for the Faith."
"Margaery always tells me she misses Highgarden," I explained, "and she says the simple thought of it always soothes her heartaches. I thought, perhaps, it would be good for you to visit your childhood home."
"Don't you see what she's doing," Cersei snapped. She rushed around the table, holding her flowing red and gold dress with both hands to her sides. She stopped next to my arm and crouched, looking me in the eyes with an almost crazed expression. "She wants to separate us, Tommen. She knows I'm here to protect you, and she wants me away so she can get her claws in you."

Tywin stood silent by my side, observing. I gave him a confused look, then turned back to her. "Mother… I don't think—"
"Of course you don't!" She grabbed my forearm so hard I thought she would rip the sleeves of my Baratheon-gold doublet. "I spent too much time with Joffrey, but I see now that I need to work on you as well. You must understand how these things work. How the game works."
"Enough, Cersei," said Tywin, slapping his hands on the council table. His growling voice brooked no arguments. "I will not have you ruin another piece of my legacy." He waved his wine goblet in the direction of the doors. "Leave. I will have words with my grandson."
Cersei fumed where she crouched for a moment, calculating whether it was worth bandying words with her father. In the end, she must have arrived at the intelligent answer, for she turned to leave. "We'll talk later, Tommen."

Ocean Attuned - A timeloop LitRPG
In the mids of industrialization, Liana, a girl of almost twelve, awakens her flow and follows her newly awakened calling, the ocean, and thus the path of the last remaining god. With the advent of industry, one's status and the accompanying skills slowly grow to be secondary as people choose more recreational skills and classes. The clear exception are flow bringers. Humans with an increased affinity towards flow and attunements are the only real remnants of the age of gods and mysticism. Terrors on the battlefield, saints in hospitals, saviours during drought, are just some examples of the wonderous abilities they display. As civilization grows less dangerous so does the stress that is often associated with the awakening of the flow reduce and only the real talents remain. Please be aware that this is a first draft at best. Tag/Genre analysis: Action: A theme that will appear in the story at some point (probably 15+ chapters in) Adventure: Yes Fantasy: Yes Magic, Beasts, and other fantastical elements are totally at home here. Tragedy: Life is not always fun. For what is fun when there are no downsides. I don't know how heavily I am going to lean into this genre. I want to but don't expect too much. Loop: Yes, though I will not divulge anything else. Just be aware that there isn't nearly as much looping as in MoL for example. Female Lead: Yes, Liana is female. Dungeon: Yes, there are dungeons. Yes, they will get explored. LitRPG: Yes, read the first chapter if you want an example. Magic: most definitely because who doesn't like calling lighting down from the heavens. (Disclaimer: No actual lightning will be called down from the heavens) Mythos: There are gods. So maybe, I don't know if that is enough to qualify? Progression: yes Slice of Life: There is plot, and the story will mostly be about that plot, but there will also be downtime because there can't always be action. The first "loop" especially the first 20-30 chapters will be heavily SoL. And afterward there will be a lot less. Profanity: The ocean (see title) includes sailors and we all know how the stereotypical sailor is. Gore: Hmmm, some but I will have it be not graphic at all.

8 355Almost a Good Person
A memory, a memory of a boy who wanted more than pain, of a girl who wanted more than death, and an Isle that should not exist. The Isle of Red is a small, unassuming, quiet place. It is just large enough for a college, a small town, and maybe even a few more unusual sorts of places. Of course, the townsfolk practically know each other as family. Flush-faced regulars can be found toasting just about anything in the Briar's Brew, then, a few streets away, the same haggle of older women stationed themselves on their perch as they did every day from one of the few balconies in Central Square. They fuss away now, spouting the usual gossip as they watch us all from on high. Then there is the College here on the Isle of Red. My college. It has been often described as an unusual place by a good deal of people on the mainland. If they only would visit -why I am sure they'll soon have a change of heart, they may even come to find it a quaint sort of place, odd but in the same way a tattered old quilt can be both odd looking and warm, and especially soft. We teach mostly the same sort of disciplines here, with fantastic and absolutely normal professors.I must conclude that I am quite smitten with myself. The stage is set with a level of perfection that would have astonished me in my youth. They are coming. Derek will follow her. He knows the weight of reality too intimately, but she will be his true north if only for a short time. A beacon in the storm to show him the stunning pastels and brightness the sun may yet refract through his thinner, sharper pieces. Theoline will lead as she always has- well not always, not yet. She holds onto questions feverishly tight, that one. Lights them up inside like a new type of fuel without the slightest worry of being burned. She knows... There is but a certain few who can look at a map and find nothing where I stand but the Atlantic Ocean. And still, there is earth beneath me, a noisy pub down the road from me, and several people clucking conspiratorially on a balcony above me. She knows... that the Isle of Red doesn't belong here. Neither, technically, do I. (Hello!
