《Sir Crabby (Progression Litrpg)》Author's Note - End of Book 1

Wow!

First off, thank you dear readers for deciding to support my work thus far. It's been an exciting journey for me. I started writing this on March 31st, and as of the time of this writing it's been 21 days (3 weeks - Apr 21st) for the first book. The book is sitting at 72,565 words or about 263 pages (from Royal Road standards). I've spent hours every day chugging this out and this is my first time writing. I then, continued to write and for the month of April clocked in at about 102,000 words. (Join My patreon and you can read them ahead of RR! 10+ chapters ahead! Link in the author's note below.)

So where do I go from here?

I want to note that I'm not writing a web serial. I'm writing a series of books. I take inspiration from Maxime J. Durand (Author of Vainqueur the Dragon, The Perfect Run, and Never Die Twice). I like reading this author because when I start the story, I know it's going to finish. I know I'm not going to decide to drop the story and come back three years from now and it will still be ongoing. I know the story will eventually end.

My story will eventually finish as well.

As it currently stands, I'm planning for 4-5 books. I'll do my best moving forward to continue this pace of writing. I certainly love creating this world and character and (if you've read thus far) hope that you find the story as funny and endearing as I do.

That being said, I am quite tired. I don't know about most folks &/or New Authors, but 100k words in a month is quite a bit for me. So, release schedule will change (both on here and on Patreon) to Monday through Friday, at least a chapter a day. This will give me time to plan/plot the books and actually rest.

Sorry.

Crab at War

Crabby's Saga: Book 2

P.S. - The series will continue to be comedy and parody. This doesn't signify a shift into a war drama, I swear.

P.P.S - One of my patrons expressed their fears of where the story is going and the seeming "shift in tone." This is my response: It's still a fantasy parody. For this book it will also be a fantasy war parody. This isn't going to turn into predator crabby or some dark apocalyptic war story. I know the latter part of the book was darker and less comedic, but that's just the function of writing something book length (250-400 pages) and escalating tension in good vs evil. Also, remember that crabby is an unreliable narrator. What that means, is that we're seeing it through his eyes. What may seem dark and terrible may not be that bad. I've been to war myself, and believe me... while hardship and tragedy abounds, so does brotherhood and friendship and laughter. This isn't a slice of life story. Crabby's story is the hero's journey, and getting drafted into a fight he doesn't want is just another struggle that he must overcome to get home. I hope this alleviates some of your concerns.

P.P.P.S - If you have any thoughts, suggestions, comments feel free to send them to me. I'm always looking to improve and I've received inspiration from many of you. Thank you once more for your support.
