《Colossus' Dream》(3) First step.

POV Narrator:
“How comfortable,” The slumbering Colossus mumbles. The soft dirt, cushioning his enormous body, shakes. “I’ll nap for a little longer, it's not like anything has changed. Nothing ever changes,” A sad smile accompanies his gloomy thoughts.
“These incessant rumbles are annoying,” he groans in a low voice, sounding closer to a deep growl than actual words. “It seems like I'm being woken up, but I refuse, I'm much too tired. I’ll just sleep a little while longer, I'm sure no one will mind,” The Colossus decides with a content look on his face.
With an explosion, the ground shakes. The Colossus's eyes snapped open. “Alright!” he shouts. “I'll wake up, just stop being so rough.” he groans, extremely annoyed. “I only wanted a little more sleep, but someone clearly hates the idea,” he mumbles. With another groan, he pushes against the ground beneath, forcing himself free from his dirt coffin.
The dirt erupts as the groaning colossus breaks free of the lake bed. The lake's water, like waterfalls, stream down the Colossus' sides. Loose clumps of soil dislodge themselves from the Colossus' earthen body. His abrupt appearance shifts the wind direction, a cold aura emanating from his body. Finally fully upright, his gaze sweeps the battlefield. A complex expression surfaces.
“What kind of tiny elementals are these?” he ponders in confusion, silently observing the 'tiny elementals' surrounding the lakebed. Suddenly, an abrupt laugh bellows from his large chest, “Ha-ha.”. From the elves' perspective, It sounds more like a roar from a beast. The colossus, unaware of this fact, continues to laugh. A feeling of happiness rises in him, finally seeing something other than towering colossi, someone that's surprisingly smaller than him.
“I wonder how long I've been asleep? It can’t be more than a hundred years at most. Well, it doesn't matter, it's not like anything has changed.” he contemplates absentmindedly, slowly stretching his towering figure. “Why aren't these tiny elementals moving, maybe they’re hurt?” He ponders, unaware that he's the cause of this whole situation.

“Maybe I can help?” He decides. “Well, I can't help them from over here. I’ll get closer and see what I can do,” He concludes. Slowly, he readies his sore legs and moves to take his first step, towards these tiny brethren.
Near the trees, Alre’s eyes widen, the pure horror of the situation finally settling in. Alre knows that the bedrock around the ancient lake has always been loose and brittle, a direct result of frequent earthquakes plaguing the area. This is one of the main reasons why no one settled near this abundant source of water. “The earth is going to crumble under his weight!” he screams, almost hysterical.
“I just need to get a bit closer,” The Colossus says, his leg moving down. As his foot touches the ground, his eyes widened. With a sickening crunch, his foot penetrates straight through the loose bedrock. The ground in a five-kilometre radius around him crumbles and cascades inward. Nothing is spared as the great plain gets buried under an endless amount of dirt and rocks.
“Oops...” The Colossus says in a small voice, as he slowly gets buried deeper into the earth. The ground around him crumbles completely, burying him deeper and deeper into his new coffin of dirt and stone.
“Not this again! I can’t go back to sleep already, I just woke up!” he cries angrily as the earth around him stills. Still angry, he continues, “Now I have to go through all the effort of standing up again.”. Preparing to stand up, a blue screen suddenly appears in front of him. “What is this?” he shouts in confusion, inwardly shocked about the weirdness of his day so far. He looks over to the blue screen hovering in front of him, instinctively being able to understand and read it.

Name: *Unnamed Race: Primordial Elemental Titles: Primordial, Earth Shaper Unique Trait: Colossal Dream
As the Colossus reads the information screen, a single thought enters his mind, “What a strange thing, almost as strange as those tiny elementals.”. “I wonder what these weird titles mean?” he ponders. Suddenly, another screen pops up in front of him. “Hmm, so I only have to think of instructions, and it responds. How useful! Still, I wonder what these titles are used for?” he asks himself.
Primordial Title granted for being born in the first age. Earth Shaper Title granted for changing the shape of a large terrain, relative to your size.
“So they are just here to make me feel superior towards other beings, I like it!” he says to himself excitedly, with a small grin creeping on his face. He looks over at the bottom of the status screen and wonders what the purpose of the unique trait is.
Colossal Dream Unique Trait: Only acquirable by System recognised individuals. Allows the users to evolve beyond their limit. Through reaching certain requirements, the individual can achieve their colossal dream. Colossal Dream Requirements met... evolving. Completion time 1000 years.
While reading the description, his eyes widened. A large smile appears on his face. “It looks like I finally have a chance,” he says to himself. Slowly, the Colossus closes his eyes and prepares himself for the 1000 year sleep that will lead him towards his colossal dream.
