Lara's POV;

I was looking down at the battlefield. The aura I was projecting on everyone down below has caused quite a change. At first, it also affected the Marines, but then Sengoku used his own Fruit to counter mine.

His Buddha form gives all those he wants to a feeling of peace and calmness. It looks as if it stops any and all mental attacks. Disappointing, but I can live with that. My attack has already done its work. The lines of the Marines were breached at more than three places and those that were fighting the Pacifista were doing so with more strength and a higher morale.

It's not as if my aura gives them any true strength increase or health. I could, but I don't want to. No, they just don't feel any pain and lack the emotions of fear or have a survival instinct. I'm projecting my own emotions onto them. This makes them look as if they have regained their strength, while in reality, they are causing themselves more damage over time than what it would be worth.

And the best thing, they won't notice until it is too late. They are all 'high' from my influence and have no one who would be able to calm them down. Once the war is over they will find themselves with a really high death rate. But it would be easy to give the war itself the fault for that.

Another laser attack from Kizaru passed through my body and I couldn't stop myself from chuckling a little. The form I am currently using is one of the many angel forms I have access to.

It gives me complete immunity to almost any attacks. Every physical attack does not work on me and you even need to use a heavy coating of Armament to possibly touch me.

Mrs Chicken Wing had to use her advanced Armament, otherwise, she would have simply passed through me. And even then it was hard for her to hit me with dangerous force.

It also gives me a higher ability to project the feeling of emotions. My Observation Haki is strengthened to such heights that I can hear the thoughts of those I concentrate on. That was something only the people of Skypia and Enel could do.

However, there are drawbacks to this form. First, I am almost completely immobile. I can only slowly walk. And, like nothing is able to touch me, I too, am not able to interact with anything.

I call this form the Astral Form.

The singing I was doing isn't done by 'me', but my Devil Fruit. In this form, I'm not even able to speak. It's a purely metaphysical form. Still, the bonus on Observation and the ability to influence the emotional and mental state of those around me makes it somewhat up. This form also allows me to really boost the strength, health, healing and abilities of those I think of as my comrades, while I can lower the same to those I think of as my enemies.

Those copies I have made are also not through the Fruit, but by creating mirages through heating the air, I stole the idea from Nami. And, while in this form, I share their intangibility, which makes them look more real.

So basically I am a buff monster in this form. No real attack power, but a lot of buffs, debuffs and other tiny things that are important in a group fight, or even more game-changing in a war.

“Hmm, looks like the Marines are enacting their strategy,” I mused to myself. Down below massive walls of iron have risen up from below the ice. They were high enough to overshadow a super-sized warship and had a multitude of cannons built in.

Those cannons were now starting to fire into the bay and at the Moby Dick, aided by the volcanic attacks of Akainu. Together they were destroying the ice and the ship in short order. The pirates, for there were only those left in the bay, were trying to get out of the barrage of deadly attacks.

But that was a hard task. From behind the Pacifista were still attacking, from the side they were blocked by the wall and the ground beneath was getting ripped away. The water they were falling into was also quickly heating up from the attacks of Akainu.

Whitebeard tried to attack one of the walls with his shatter fruit. The attack made a great deal of noise and generated a shock wave, but the wall did resist. Maybe they have reinforced it with sea stone, that would explain how it could withstand an attack like that.

The pirates were getting desperate to get through a tiny gap and over the, again rising, body of Oars Junior. The gap was an obvious trap, all three Admirals, as well as most of the stronger fighters of the Marines, were waiting behind.

And just now Luffy has thrown himself right at them... And got knocked into a wall by a swift kick from Kizaru. Really, what did he expect? I myself am not going down there. The battle is too chaotic and there are way too many strong enemies in one place. Having some distance to them is the best course for me. But then again, I don't want to save Ace.

At least Crocodile has suddenly shown up again and taken out the two executioners who were about to behead Ace. He was then 'beheaded' by strings, curtsey of Doflamingo.

The feather boa wearing fucker is still alive. His right hand was still a thread bandaged stump, but he himself was alive and kicking. Literally, he just now kicked Crocodile's hook.

While Luffy, Marco and Crocodile were causing havoc behind the wall, the pirates still in the bay had all gathered together and were now riding on another surfaced Moby Dick.

The ship was a paddle ship and was further speeded up by a pulling Oars Junior. He pulled it right through the gap and onto the plaza. The Whitebeard pirates have reached the plaza and are just a few short hundred meters away from Ace.

But in their haste to reach Ace they have lost many. Thousands of dead bodies were already drifting in the bay. And their allied crews were still fighting against the remaining warships and Pacifista.

Still, the Marines have lost many of theirs as well. A good dozen Pacifista were destroyed and almost all of their ships were lit aflame or sunken.

Back at the front Whitebeard has just now taken a mighty swing with his halberd and had sent many lower ranked Marines flying. Those at Commodore or Vice Admiral level were the only ones left standing.

He readied another attack but was stopped by Aokiji, who then was stopped by the guy that could transform himself into diamonds. The battle was quickly getting chaotic again. And amidst all that chaos was Luffy, who was getting a beating by the Vice Admirals and Kizaru. He looked almost dead by now.

With a slight frown, I realised that by now they have mostly forgotten about me. The fighting down below was still aided by me and the attack of the pirates was slowly overwhelming the heavy defence of the Marines. But no one was giving me any attention and I myself am getting bored with standing here and doing nothing.

That means I have to do something. I dropped my Astral Form and changed into a different form I have access to. This one isn't for close combat either but has the ability to attack.

I call it the Mage Angel, as it has its strength in distant and wide area attacks. All of them based on light and fire. The light aspect can be used for healing and protection.

Protection I instantly erected. A group of four transparent shields made out of light sprung into existence and began to rotate around me.

My body became tangible again, it lost the radiating golden glow and the wings shrunk down to a rather tiny size. Nothing else changed.

Those below started to realize that something has changed. The pirates have lost their 'boost' and were again feeling their wounds or the emotional stress that comes with a battle for one's own life. They almost instantly began to falter and the forward push crept to a slow until it halted completely.

Some of them came to the right conclusion that I am doing something and were looking up again. Another one of Kizaru's light attacks was shot at me, but this time it was absorbed into one of my light shields. The shield then grew in size and became less see through. I didn't know that it was possible, but apparently, Kizaru's attacks are beefing my own defences up.

Those were also immediately needed when a piercing force blade from Momonga came crashing into the shield. The defensive wall made out of light easily held the attack and only became a little bit more transparent.

I retaliated by pointing my finger down at him and gathered heat particles on the tip of it. My attack was charged within seconds and the tip of my finger glowed in the same golden light as Kizaru's. The next second I let the energy loose and a lance of energy pierced down.

Momonga has had enough skill to bring his sword in between himself and my attack, but the lance began to easily push him backwards, before exploding in a massive explosion of heat and radiation. Momonga was flung away and sustained some burns from the heat.

Many were shocked by what they saw and I could hear some of them how they exclaimed their disbelieve of what they have seen.

By now I had again the attention I was seeking and many officers were starting to aim at me with their rifles or other distance attacks. But all of them harmlessly pinged off of my shields. Those shields are not the best defence, especially in close combat, but against ranged attacks, they are pretty good. And they are easy to sustain.

Some of them came to the same conclusion and began to use Geppo to get up into the air and close to me. First of them was Kizaru, the Admiral that was trying to attack me for some time now.

However, he made a big mistake when he moved next to me with his light ability. He wasn't yet fully materialised, when I grabbed control over the light he was made out of. I started to take the energy for myself and funnelled it into my next attack. His body was then taken as the transporting force of this attack and flung back into the plaza. Where he crash landed and caused a massive explosion. The force killed a large group of fighters and left a massive crater. Inside laid a slightly battered and also harder breathing Kizaru.

His face looked shocked and many others like him were not knowing what happened.

While in this form I have a great deal of control over anything light-based and fire. I can manipulate the sun, take the heat out of a fire and hot surfaces and redirect them. The first attack was gathered sun energy, amplified by my own power. For the second I used Kizaru himself and all the excess energy he was leaking from his travel.

“Uoh”, I exclaimed in a fake shocked tone. Whitebeard has just fallen into a coughing fit. My claimed ball of healing wasn't truly healing him. It wasn't harming him as well, but I only healed his chest wound and relieved the breathing trouble for a short moment.

It was enough to fool him for a few minutes, but then I stopped the positive influence on his body and left the remains of my energy inactive. I'm sure he either knows that I have stopped it or does think that I am too far away for it to work.

Marco panicked and tried to rush over to him, only for him to then get shot in the back by an again standing Kizaru. That in return distracted the diamond guy and he was frozen over by Aokiji. And Akainu has also taken his chance and plunged a magma fist into the stomach of Whitebeard.

A single mistake did cost the Whitebeard pirates greatly.

In short order Marco got sea stone cuffed, the diamond guy totally frozen and a group of Commodores and Vice Admirals had attacked Whitebeard upfront. They were numerous enough to pierce a multitude of bladed weapons into his body and even fired one or two cannons at him.

However, the old man proved why he was feared and with a single attack took all of them out.

Still, the Whitebeard pirates are not fast enough. Another pair of executioners was raising their blades to behead Ace. Any minute now and Luffy will use his Conqueror Haki to knock the executioners out.

I waited for the right moment and used the stunned shock that followed Luffy's Haki outburst to fire a few shots of my beam at some pesky Marines that kept shooting at me.

However, those who were still standing were all veterans and knew their stuff. The Marines quickly began to target Luffy more strongly, while the pirates began to protect him more closely.

Whitebeard was keeping Kizaru away from Luffy, a group of captains were keeping the other two Admirals busy and the lower ranked pirates were throwing themselves at the Vice Admirals and Commodores.

Da fuck? Did that scissor guy really hide inside Ivankov's hair for the whole time? And he even has a glass with wine in his hands, strange guy.

Still, he had created a road up to Ace and Luffy was running on it towards his sworn brother. He even punched his grandfather in the face to get to Ace. Garp obviously hesitated when he faced his grandson and got himself knocked out by the hit. I would have done the same in his position.

Anyway, Luffy has had reached Ace and used his own enlarged body to take a punch from Sengoku. That must have hurt a lot, the Buddha man is strong.

Together they fell down from the now destroyed scaffold and somehow Ace lost his sea stone cuffs. If I remember correctly then Mr 3. was hiding as one of the executioners. They banded together and started to fight the enclosing Marines like a well-trained tag team.

Hehe, just a little longer and I can do why I came really here for.
