《Doing God's Work》Author's Update

It's been a while since the last chapter (even for me) and I wanted to give you all a quick update on what's been happening. It's a little different this time from the 'work is being extra busy' issues that typically slow me down.

Three weeks ago, I noticed I was getting shooting pains in my dominant hand I put down to most likely being RSI, given I work a lot with computers. I took it seriously, hoping to nip the problem in the bud before it had a chance to get worse - and get worse it did. Over only a few days, it spread to my arm and shoulder, then to the other arm and shoulder, and then to one of my legs. Only a week after the first initial symptoms, I found myself unable to work and have been off on sick leave since.

Due to the medical system being backed up by Covid, it's been taking a while to find answers. I'm still waiting on scan results and specialist appointments. At this stage, all I know is that it's a problem with my nervous system. It might be a spinal injury or compressed nerves, it might be a neurological condition, it might even be stress-induced trauma exacerbated by (understandable) anxiety. What I do know is that it's serious. There have been moments I've been losing control in my fingers and toes, and while it's much more likely than not that this won't be permanent, it's been a struggle to cope with mentally, to say the least.

I want to reassure you DGW isn't going anywhere. This story will be finished. (I've made my partner promise to finish it if anything happens to me.) But updates are probably going to be slower until I have answers for what's happening and the correct treatment for them.
