Ms Samuels stared at the money like it had cursed in front of a baby. "Does that woman you caught really think she can buy her way out of responsibility?"

"I don't think so, but she's current doing several lifetimes worth of 'community service'," Helena replied. "Lyudmila said this was double the wergild for murder so it's trying to be apologetic."

"Ha!" There was an impressive amount of scorn in that word. Helena had heard true magic incantations with less emotion. Ms Samuels looked at the money, then up at her. "Well I'll take it. But Helena, you can go to that fancy magical kingdom right?"

"I wouldn't call it fancy or magical, but I can, yes." It was a lot easier to go somewhere you'd been after all.

Ms Samuels nodded. "Right then. When you're done being a proper host to those friends of yours I'd like you to take me there. I want to speak to this 'Grete' woman personally."

Helena felt herself grin. "My pleasure." Oh that would be a show to watch.
