Remote Reactors: Devices used to generate and broadcast power to any number of devices, up to their certified wattage limit.
Links: Assistive computer devices, designed to act as interfaces for controlling other devices. A Link may connect to one device for each available Channel, and can manage devices within their Bandwidth tier. Links can also be specialized for certain tasks, such as the semi-legal IntruderLinks, which exploit software and network vulnerabilities in targeted devices and interfere with or even subvert their general functions.
Portable Shields: Portable shields are on-demand barricades. The most common models use a combination of non-newtonian ferrofluid and polyceramic plates, and can stop most small arms fire.
Basic Industries: A corporation well known for producing rugged, bare-bones, no-frills devices for whatever market has the demand. They hold a trademark on the use of the word basic in product names.
IFF: Identify Friend or Foe. Targeting software intended to help discriminate between friendly, neutral and hostile targets.
Deviation: Deviation from norm. Expressed as B/M where B is the number of biological augmentations and M is the number of mechanical or cybernetic augmentations. 0/0 Represents standard human. When M is greater than 8, the subject is considered a cyborg. A B of 6 or greater classifies the subject as an enhanced human, where as a B of 15 is considered post-human.
Turret: Automated weapon emplacement. Targets independently of user, but uses IFF data from owner’s Link for target discrimination. Normally have no on board power source or batteries, drawing energy from a remote reactor instead. This design decision was settled on after the first generation of turrets became popular targets for snipers, causing secondary explosions when their power stores were ruptured.
Buckshot: A type of ammunition which is made up of a grouping of pellets which begin to spread out as they are fired.
Slugs: A single, heavy projectile.

Conquest of Avalon
Revenge. The Kingdom of Avalon swept across the Empire of the Fox a generation past, conquering the heartlands and leaving the broken remnants to stew in the island duchy of Guerron. This isn't a story of Good versus Evil, of kindly kings doing their best to lift all subjects, or of unvarnished heroes doing battle against evil. Instead, this story is about power: who has it, who wants it, and what people will do to obtain it. It is about the violence inherent in the imperial project and how even the most well-intentioned rulers and conquerors are, still, engaging in systemic violence against those conquered and defeated. Our three point-of-view characters are a peasant turned fire wizard, an excitable duelist with more enthusiasm than sense, and a scheming mage-priestess bent on reclaiming her family's birthright and waging war on the foreign oppressors who rule her home... no matter the cost in blood or treasure.
