Snake Report: Day Seven
A spider tried to eat me today. It was absolutely terrifying.
Every time I think I've rationalized how this world works, I find myself ignorant. The creatures in this cave are more than just living things- they're monsters. Legitimate monsters that defy the known laws of my previous reality.
But, I have good news to report as well. Perhaps this could already be guessed, as I'm not dead.
Hisssss...
The good news is: Spiders hate fire quite a bit.
As in, fire kills them.
Really, really kills them.
Spider, spider webs, spider egg sacks: The whole nine yards. All are extremely flammable.
Category 1 Flammable-Solid. "Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, and hot surfaces. No smoking."
Yes, all of those statements are relevant, and OSHA approved.
I'll take on the personal responsibility for this misadventure. When trying to gobble down a few more mushrooms from Frog's Pillar I put myself a bit to far out into the open. Apparently I look like a tasty morsel to a hunting spider. It cleared the distance between us before I even knew it was on approach. Instinct can take the credit for this round of survival: Human-side was in full shock and terror, but Snake-instinct fought against the terror and managed to barf up a pitiful excuse for [Fire-breath] along with half a toasted mushroom.
Pitiful, but effective.
The spider ran off an eight-legged BBQ, before curling up and dying with a smolder of defeat.
[Fire Breath] is now rank III, just like that.

If spiders still didn't terrify the ever-living shit out of me, I think this would probably be the start of a grinding montage. They do though.
They really do.
I'm sticking with glowing blue mushrooms for now.

Given the Gamer ability after shattering a crystal inside a game, Jon's world is upturned as he is thrown into a life he considered fantasy. Making new enemies and encountering a god, he cannot escape the quest which is forced on him. Different worlds and different situations, can he come out on top? He's neither perfect nor a saint, he is Jon. Welcome to Gamer. This has been dropped, I didn't like the way I forced a few plotpoints and I lost my notes on the story itself. Read below if you want to be spoilered. As far as I recall, he would change race into a higher human after using a spell to overload his mana repeatably until his body forcibly adapts, he would train up his rift usage spell with some better targets than God's Realm because he keeps hitting his stats limit until the cost lowers enough that he can actually grind it. His world is being invaded by multiple worlds, so the god had many backup plans where a lot of people went into their own fantasy settings and came back to defend Earth. Jon never is the strongest one out there, he has to keep grinding and grinding before he gets stronger than the other heroes, and at that point the invasion is nearing the final stretch. Jon's two biggest advantages is that he can keep grinding without hitting a cap he can't evolve, and that even when he is eventually killed. He would have respawned in the nearest 'Safe Zone' after dropping a level and everything he did to gain that level. I also had a bunch of ideas for mini-arcs where he would play in multiple worlds in multiple situations, not that great of an idea in retrospect.

As they were summoned, the old king in front of them said to the "Young heroes, I have summoned you here to fulfill a great prophecy, you have to defeat a coming evil, foretold by the by our High Priest, Ursum." The heroes, as observed by the king, looked around the room, and said out loud "Where are we?" "You are in the great kingdom of Vo-". Unfortunatley the king stopped before he could end the sentence. There was a dagger sticking out of his skull... -------------- This is my first story, constructive critism is appreciated and wanted. So please, help me, I am drowning in a thing called incompetence.

A young brunette (Mitch) had been abused when he was a child, and it had made him scared of everything to this day. Mitch has had mental issues when he was younger and grew up with no friends and no one to talk to. His mental issues had seemed like they slipped away for a few years when he was dating his boyfriend Travis. But Travis started abusing Mitch and it made Mitch's problems even worse. Mitch was put into a mental hospital by Travis and doesn't know what to do or where to go. Since he is scared of everything, he doesn't speak, and never makes eye contact. No one can seem to help him. No one but a tall blonde. The tall blonde has a name (Scott) but Mitch has never had the courage to speak up and ask for the blondes name. The blonde seems to be the only one that mitch will make eye contact with, and rarely talks to him. What will happen when The blonde starts falling in love with Mitch?
