《Celestial Journey》47] - [Pyramid]

'I'm pretty sure that the moment I go through the Primordial Boundary Tribulation the clone's cultivation base will reach some insane level, probably the highest level these systems can forcefully reach... Actually, this may even be the highest, well close at least.'
Dissipating his clone's soul, Alexander opened his eyes.
'Now I wait...'
With time flying by, Alexander was not sure what to do. He had already done whatever his mind could think off throughout the years, he also could not move from his throne, trying to avoid reducing his chances during the Grand Macrocosm Trial of Ascendency. Even going inside his internal world was beyond boring.
I could try that...
Feeling adventurous, he created another clone, followed by another. Doing so, he created many identical clones. Inserting in each of them a different system, he saw them clutch their heads in pain for a few hours.
Once done, he retrieved their souls, before inspecting them.
'They retained all the information, but since I can't absorb them...' Taking out grey pieces of jade, Alexander allocated each to one cloned soul.
Waving his hand, the grey jades brightly lit up, their material becoming an immaterial vacuum, forcefully trapping each soul inside, melting them away.
A few days later, Alexander took out a random grey jade, inserting his Divine Sense inside.
'Great! Now I can use these jades for information.'
What Alexander had done was use systems to engrave knowledge onto his clone's souls. After this, he assimilated them inside grey jades, which then became similar to small sized books containing immortal libraries' worth of information. All of it at his fingertips.
'What if I...' Trying to think of fun stuff to do, a loud rumble was heard.
Frowning, Alexander released his Divine Sense, immediately catching countless cultivators floating all around his boundless pyramid.
'Now what in the world are these dumb little shits doing?' Observing them, he estimated the weakest to be a Saint Embryonic Realm cultivator, while the strongest were all Ascension Realm Overlords.
Unbothered, he inspected the weakest's doings.
'Why are they..?' Visibly confused, he witnessed cultivators die by his pyramid's defenses by the hundreds. Watching the bloodbath, he was about to simply eliminate all of them when he felt something unexpected.
'It's... entertaining? Well of course! I can't remember a single time where so many cultivators tried to break into my home! Therefore, how could I not be curious about its defenses? Since I went through so much to protect it, doing my best at making it progressively harder, I must see it! I must witness this show before ascending!!' Having found his last entertainment, Alexander almost stood up from anticipation and excitement, causing his giant body to shake the hall he was within.
Waving his arm, a gargantuan screen of light appeared, showing the intruder's attempts at infiltrating.

At Alexander's pyramid and its entrance, a true ocean of experts was surroundings the pyramid, each of its waves stronger than the last.
Clashing with the tidal waves of cultivators were the pyramids' forces. Soldiers, puppets, golems and more, all increasing in power the deeper they were situated.
Explosions kept resounding across the void.
Hearing cries of help from his close friends, a disciple of the Blazing Sun Sect was doing his best at fighting off a giant white golem, its cultivation at the Saint King Realm.
Some distance away, a group of Overlords were watching everything with great interest, not paying attention to the countless screams of agony their own forces let out.
"Brother Yang, how far do you think they can make it?" Asking Yang Zhi was a middle aged woman, her hair velvet.
"Hmph! While I do not wish to admit it, this shit's pyramid is probably difficult to breach in, I have never heard of anyone making it far. I think someone called Ghutly something died inside as well. Not sure who he is, but his death shocked many of my close friends."
A gasping suddenly heard, Yang Zhi turned to look at an old man, his hair grey and skin wrinkly.
"What's wrong brother Juvel?" Curious, Yang Zhi could not help himself from asking.
"Brother Yang, you said someone called Ghutly died inside? Was his name Ghutly Vermon?"
Raising a brow at the shocked Overlord, Yang Zhi nodded slowly, still unsure why this random name was so popular, even now.
"I'm not a hundred percent sure... but I've heard from my descendants that Ghutly Vermon was a newly promoted peak stage Primordial Divinity Realm cultivator, with unmatched talent! He was rumored to have reached this major realm at barely five hundred thousand years of age!"
Ignoring the gasps, was Alexander's Divine Sense, catching onto the conversation.
"Was there such a guy?" Asking out loud to some soldiers below, he soon received an answer, as a man in azure armor knelt.
"Your majesty, he is the soul that possessed the highest cultivation base within your sacred Eternal Soul Corridor!"
Raising a brow, Alexander's eyes soon illuminated.
"Ah~! Yes! That guy! I had completely forgotten his name."
Pausing for a brief moment, Alexander looked puzzled.
"And I forgot it again..." Sighing, he focused once more outside of his pyramid.
-----
A few years later, Alexander saw an army of True God Realm experts stand in formation, ready to enter.
'To think countless cultivators have already fallen, barely making a dent to the pyramid's outer sector...'
Throughout the years, all cultivators, from the Saint Embryonic Realm to the God Realm, had perished. This army of experts had only managed to pass the first ten percent.
Supervising them were the Overlords Alexander had caught on a few years back. They were all playing board games with each other, clearly bored out of their minds, completely ignoring the slaughter below.

As for the pyramid's insides, the army of experts was being blocked by True God Realm and Grand Harmonization Realm puppets, all clad in bright bronze armors.
Dodging a blow, a young woman ducked, avoiding certain death.
'How can puppets be this strong?!'
'?!' This time, she blocked the incoming fist with her crossed forearms, taking the brunt of the impact head on, as she was too late to dodge another puppet's sudden blow.
Sensing her near death, the young woman was petrified as another puppet appeared to her right, kicking her already broken forearms closer to her chest, forcing them to brutally enter her own ribcage.
"Argh...gurh!"
Vomiting blood by the gallons as her forearms were smashed inside her own body, she collapsed on the former pristine white floor, her eyes wide open in denial, as if still clinging onto life.
Witnessing this gruesome sight, a man fell on his knees.
"J-Junior sister! Y-You promised... to live peacefully on an exiled star... to have children, family... and love each other for-"
Ending his boring, repetitive words was the puppet's blade, gifting him the mercy of decapitation. His head now freely rolling on the red floor below.
Such scenes kept appearing as decillions upon decillions of True God Realm experts fell, their hopes and dreams shattered, their Martial Dao cut short.
In all fairness, these scenes also appeared during the previous years, and would continue to appear further into the near future. As the Overlords would only step in at the end, not caring about even the lives of Primordial Deities.
A few years later, this hell was unleashed onto True Star Realm experts, most young disciples or talents from somewhat renown forces were used as cannon fodder, only letting the greatest forces keep their own descendants free from death's clutches.
A young man was slicing apart puppet after puppet, beast after beast and golem after golem... A true force to be reckoned with, a true leader, giving hope to his comrades, his brothers, sisters, elders, juniors, to countless people that he did and did not know.
Seeing the bloodied man charge forth, his feet sinking into a mound of corpses, organic and mechanic, was a motivational moment, growing the flame of battle inside all.
Until...
Watching dumbfounded were octillions upon octillions of experts, all in confusion, as their leader was seen... His body brutally torn apart by a golem, its aura peerless.
Their opponents unmoving, the puppets, beasts and others all took advantage, slicing, impaling, crushing... completely annihilating all enemy forces with pure savagery.
Heads, no... limbs flying all around, lives reaped, souls harvested, bodies eaten, blood drank... the unfolding scenery, a vision from the very depths of hell was the only thing visible, contrasting greatly with the uncaring experts behind, peacefully standing, unwilling to help, as their juniors, descendants and family were all butchered, their loved ones deleted from existence.
A couple of years passing by, the boundless ocean of intruders managed to reach the inner sanctum of the pyramid, closing in on the hall.
But once more was the scene of abyssal carnage unfolding, expanding and dominating, as sextillions upon sextillions of powerful Heavenly Venerable Realm experts charged ahead, explosions ringing their ears, blood blinding their eyes, rot stuffing their noses, and death filling their mind.
This was where the true challenge came for the pyramid, as Heavenly Venerable Realm experts and above could revive after death, joining the fight again and again until complete death.
Fighting them off were still only puppets, golems and else, no sight of living soldiers to be seen. Only pure, unfiltered madness of bloodthirsty puppets, unafraid of even death itself. All with a single objective, protect the pyramid, all the while suppressing the intruders until the end of time.
It was only a year later that Divine Phantasm Realm experts finally managed to pierce through the pyramid's unending stream of mechanical armies. This was at this time that the pyramid's reputation had already spanned far across the Universe, legends of its impenetrable defenses having caused the demise of countless experts. All mythical figures, all dreaded existences, yet, all of them falling to the pyramid's seemingly simple army.
Opening the doors spanning millions upon millions of kilometers high into the far space, were the remaining intruding experts, staring cautiously at the breathtaking hall now in front. However, before any of them could take in the view...
"Argh !"
Collapsing on the ground was a middle aged man, his defensive artifact ineffective while facing what seemed to be a spear, now impaling his entrails.
"What happened?!" Not even aware of their surroundings, the nearing experts all turned to look at the downed man, a grave mistake.
The hissing of Star Qi ringed inside their ears, as more artifacts were thrown at them, killing all in the process.
The peaceful sound of corpses falling took over, chills infiltrating the intruders' bodies, frozen from pure terror.
Finally able to look ahead... a small army appeared to their moist eyes, barely reaching the thousand, all of living beings. Soldiers in silver, gold and even azure armors.
Feeling the killing intent from their powerful auras was contrasting with their frail, previous hopes. Now aware of their new opponents' gigantic strength, doom extinguished their remaining pathetic flame of battle.
"...I guess... that's where we die..." Chuckling from despair, a middle aged man, a single life remaining, was suddenly impaled by another flying spear, ending his life of greatness in a heartbeat, while his own slowly froze, beating its last, forever.
