《Celestial Journey》22] - [Auction (2)]

After a few minutes of shameless boasting about their sponsor's quality of goods, the auction finally resumed as any customer would intend.
"And now, this third item!" Showing to everyone the hiltless green jade sword, its length just below 1.4 meters, she explained.
"This is the 'Eternal Jade Sword' found during the excavation of Mu Laffec's inheritence ground, the renowned artifact refiner and peerless cultivator of our great Shertan Continent from two million years ago!"
"Mu Laffec? Who is this?"
Answering the woman's question, a man harboring awe and respect in his eyes.
"It's Mu Laffec, Mu Laffec! Don't you know him? He could craft artifacts at the King-Tier! Not only that, he was also rumored to have reached the peak of the Upper Realms, the Divine Realm!"
'Divine Realm? That's indeed the peak of Tier-6 Worlds. They would then ascend to the Main Realms if they dare, trying to reach the God Realm.'
Alexander thought upon hearing about this man was rather unimpressed.
'I did the same, but whether or not he succeeded is a different matter. Even I took multiple tries to do it, each failure leaving me at death's doors... And I was at the peak of the Divine Realm at that, having already turned my Life Roots into Divine Roots! If not for this, my lifespan would've ended with how many secret techniques I ended up using during this period... Wasting multiples decades of life each try was a big hit on my lifespan. Only the Divine Roots and their millions of life expectancy could make this feat possible. If this man did not even have that, ascending would be near impossible.'
Like this, Alexander patiently waited for a few hours, ignoring every item he saw while reminiscing about the past.
"Now, for the new items we received just prior to the beginning of this auction!" With excitement all over her face, the young woman looked at a giant shelf filled with precious crates and chests.
"All of these were brought by our vip in the first vip suite."
Turning their heads to the right, they saw high up in the hall, a protruding room covered by a huge one way piece of black crystal.
"Are they that good? The last item was a pill sold for over 200 000 middle grade spirit stones!" Said a dwarf-like middle aged man, stroking his short beard.
"Now, without further ado, the first item, a middle grade King-Tier halberd. With its beautiful white and grey damascus pattern made from unknown material, it was said to be a perfect match to anyone proficient in the Dao of Reflection! Its starting price is one million middle grade spirit stones and each bid must be at least 100 000 middle grade spirit stones higher! Other items of value are also accepted."

Not even bothering with the high price, every single cultivator present could only roar at the sight of such a peerless treasure.
"King-Tier! It really is a King-Tier artifact! Madness!"
"Who the hell would sell this?! With this in hand, conquering this continent is not impossible!"
"Is it fake? Even Mu Laffec could barely create a low grade King-Tier artifact!"
"I'll buy it! 1.1 millions!"
"Old man Terys, are your pockets this deep?! Even a peak sect on our continent can barely take out a few millions."
"You're just poor! Look at how this young master take this peerless treasure for himself, 1.3 millions!"
Snickering at the sight below, Alexander could only shake his head.
'Let's make this fun!'
As everyone was still battling over this halberd, they heard Alexander's booming voice throughout the hall.
"I'm the one who auctioned these, I don't care about money, the starting price of each item will be at ten middle grade spirit stones, with an increment of one each bid. As for those who manage to get an item, you will have to participate in a martial art tournament I will make later today. During this tournament, the top three will receive incomparable rewards!"
"What?!"
"If such a rich man gives rewards for a little competition, then I must enter it!"
Like this, it only took a few moments for a fiery bidding battle to begin.
"10 000!"
...
"50 000 !"
...
"1.5 millions!"
...
"4 millions!"
"Nobody else? Then this King-Tier halberd has been won by mister Chu! Please come at the back after the auction to pay and receive your item."
Looking around the seats, the young girl took a deep breath before continuing.
"The next item, a high grade King-Tier bow! There is no need for arrows, the starting bid is the same as the last one, since it is the desire of the owner."
'Screw this man! How are we supposed to make money like this?!' The young girl on stage could only hate on Alexander, waiting for her superior to send assassins to make him pay.
"Again?! Another King-Tier artifact! Please sir, give me one! I will even lick your shoes!"
Like this, artifact after artifact at the King-Tier were auctioned, giving way to the first Emperor-Tier artifact.
"Dear guests, this next item is one of the four Emperor-Tier artifacts handed to us by this great vip. The high grade Emperor-Tier Imperial Spear!"
Opening one of the chests, giving way to a magnificent red spear of detailed craftmanship, its aura dampening the surroundings with majesty and bloodlust.
"8.5 millions! This is all I have, my Blood Spear Sect must obtain this spear as an absolute treasure, please give this sect master Vys some face!"

"Who would give you face! 8.6 millions!"
"Who just... if I find who you are, then you better pray to the Heavens that I give you a quick death!" Roaring, sect master Vys had no choice but wait and find out who stole his opportunity.
"Nobody else? Then this Imperial Spear has been won by this mister."
'Let's just speed up time until the last one.' Waving his hand, Alexander's vision blurred for a few seconds before returning back to normal.
...
"And now, for the final item... a perfected grade Divine-Tier artifact, the Great Sword of Hupas! This sword still has a residual aura of divinity, obtaining this sword may give you insights into the legendary Divine Realm! It is said that only the peerless Fairy Lands can host such powerful cultivators!"
"D-D-Divine...Divine-Tier?! Are you serious?! Even a Divine Realm peak expert like Mu Laffec could barely create King-Tier artifacts, let alone Emperor-Tier and Divine-Tier ones!"
'That's because you idiots are in such a backwater world... Being at the Divine Realm within the Upper Realms is indeed a considerable achievement, but being at this realm as an artifact refiner without the capability of even making Emperor-Tier artifacts is just shameful! The only ways it could happen were for this Mu Laffec or whatever to either use artifact refining as a hobby or to just be too bad at it.'
After a fervent bidding war, including physical and soul attacks causing absolute mayhem, the sword was sold to a young man, fanning himself from time to time.
Noticing him and the young girl on the next seat talking with him, Alexander probed them.
'They are the ones from that hidden sect... the young man is at the Saint Realm, and so is the young woman. Though both being at the twelfth stage show their unusual background. Even within Tier-6 Worlds, reaching the peak of the Saint Realm at such a young age can be considered slightly above average.'
Thinking about it a bit more, Alexander shook his head.
'However, while making a breakthrough to the Saint King Realm is easy, doing the same to the Saint Emperor Realm is not quite the same problem...'
Cultivators needed talents up until reaching a high enough cultivation base where such things as talent could be altered and boosted. Without proper talents, ascending to a higher plane was not the only trial some may face.
One of such trials came during the Saint King Realm. There existed nine layers, managing a breakthrough within this major realm was completely different, making it extremely difficult to even breakthrough a single layer.
Only by reaching the third layer of the Saint King Realm could they have the opportunity to attempt a breakthrough to the Saint Emperor Realm.
However, each layer was extremely important! The Saint Emperor Realm completely depended on the Saint King Realm prior. If one could, within the Saint King Realm, reach the third layer, they would then become an Inferior Emperor after their breakthrough.
Like this, each layer higher would give a higher Saint Emperor Realm cultivation, and since it was impossible to even budge within this realm, it showed how important the Saint King Realm truly was. Someone at the Inferior Emperor Stage would stay this way for the rest of their lives.
As for the other layers within this Saint Emperor Realm, they too posed limitations. Attaining a layer higher, then becoming a Lower Emperor, would only give a slight boost of strength and a major increase in Divine Sense compared to the Inferior Emperor.
Meaning that they would be stuck at this major realm forever as well.
Only by being a Minor Emperor could they make a breakthrough to the Divine Realm. However, even then, the highest they would ever reach would be the low stage of the Divine Realm.
A Major Emperor would be better off, except for never being able to make it past the Divine Realm.
A Great Emperor would never surpass the True God Realm.
And a Grand Emperor would never surpass the Grand Harmonization Realm.
As for the highest Supreme Emperor, they would have their potential fully unlocked, giving them the opportunity to reach the Ascension Realm!
Like this, one would understand how selective the Main Realms truly were, let alone the Primordial Main Worlds. To ascend and travel to the Main Realms, the peak of the Divine Realm was the lowest requirement. Making only Major Emperors and above worthy of this chance.
'Since he decided to join my martial art tournament, it's definitely going to be more fun than with these Dao Heart and Dao Fusion Realm plebs.'
Seeing the end of the auction, Alexander did not wait, making his voice heard throughout the city.
"I will host a martial art tournament at the center of the city, those that have received their entry tickets, if you want to participate, present your entry artifact to me in ten hours!"
Teleporting at the middle of the city, Alexander flew straight up until he was just below the clouds.
Extending his arm, a giant floating island formed high above the city's core. Everything on it was fully furnished, be it the giant arena or the wooden, open manor at the edge of the square arena with a giant seat ten meters high overlooking the arena in front.
'I'll use some puppets.'
Like this, the martial art tournament was just about to start.

Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel (An Irreverent Fanfiction)
Fates Parallel is a gripping cultivation story, following the adventures of a half-spirit girl with nothing as she grows both as a cultivator and as a person after arriving at the Grand Academy of Spiritual, Martial and Arcane Arts. It features fleshed-out, believable characters, wonderful world-building that informs the course of the plot, and girls who hold hands. Fates Parallel is a very good story, and you should read it! Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is a somewhat tongue-in-cheek look at this same world from a different angle, following a totally regular girl who brings bad luck with her wherever she goes. It features shallow, joke-name characters, a focus on the least interesting parts of a fantastic world, and girls who hold hands (potentially). Jingyi Bo is in Fates Parallel is an amazingly hilarious (so says me) fanfiction and you should read it! (This is a Totally Author Approved Spin-Off (Fanfiction) for Fates Parallel, which you can find in a number of places including here on RoyalRoad! Please do read it!)
