《Celestial Journey》[Birds facing the clouds]

Alexander creating a clone on the spot, this same clone soon regressed its cultivation base to the Ethereal Spirit Realm.
Repeating this process, two clones, one at the Grand Harmonization Realm and another at the Immortal Sky Realm, appeared.
On the rough arena, Livia faced the strongest one while Maffrec and Yu Xian started thinking about how to deal with their respective foe.
Interrupting their thought process was Alexander's voice.
"Isn't it time to begin? A proper opponent won't give you so much time!"
The moment his words ended, the clones kicked the ground, aiming at their own targets.
Livia flew into the sky to avoid her battle's shockwaves from interfering with her fellow disciples. At this time, with only two on the arena, Maffrec and Yu Xian divided the arena into two distinct battlegrounds.
The fights were rather weird. No matter how close it first seemed, Alexander's clone showed no panic whatsoever. It was as if they were made out of smoke and could not be touched. This incredible level of evasion and foreshadowing ended up reflected on the disciples' expressions.
"I haven't used a weapon in a very long time, so why not let my clones have some fun?"
Since he would absorb them back anyway, Alexander thought that having some fun was an obvious choice.
Yu Xian's opponent suddenly took out a green spear made from Emperor Qi, as for Maffrec's one, its green weapon of Emperor Qi was a flail.
Livia had better luck than them and only faced a sky-blue dagger of Celestial Qi.
"Let this Alexander show you all the power of martial arts!"
The first victim was obviously Maffrec. Not only was a flail extremely hard to fight against without proper experience, but Alexander did not use like everyone else.
The flail acted very strangely and its spiky ball was anchored into the air, unmoving. What moved on the other hand was the holder, Alexander's clone.
Using the flail not as a weapon but as a movement technique, the clone's body flung around like a mad whip. The flail was not the weapon of Emperor Qi, it was the clone itself!
Each time Maffrec hoped to gain some distance, the clone would use the flail normally before anchoring it somewhere else.
The battle was completely one sided. Using one's cultivation to surpass its limited speed was truly an achievement that was often hard to master.
It was not the same as mortal bodies. A cultivator could indeed receive an extremely enhanced vision, but their speed truly took off when comparing the two.

Speed was always difficult to grasp, but for a cultivator, that speed was more often than not a visual limit as well. Anything faster to a degree to their own body speed was too fast to react to.
On the other hand, Alexander's did not lack ways to deal with it. For one Divine Sense would work, but not in the Celestial Realm. However, he still had his own experience and acuity. Even if he was going ten times as fast, his reaction time would not be impaired. His body might not react in time, but his mind would. If his mind would, his body could be ordered accordingly while pre-executing moves to compensate. It was not a foolproof way, but a way nonetheless.
And so, against Alexander's clone moving multiple times faster than Maffrec himself could at his best, all the while having his body be flailed around uncontrollably, made for a difficult fight.
After only a few seconds, Maffrec gave up, having been gently patted multiple times all over his body, making him shiver in pure horror.
How could someone fight like that? What martial arts? This was simply a circus move!
Yu Xian was fairing much better on the other hand. His opponent was only using a spear. A spear was a very popular weapon, especially during tactical warfare. Having a spear in a ravine was more helpful than a chunky executioner's sword.
But once again, Alexander's use of it was rather unorthodox. Clearly he did not give a piece of his mind to gravity or anything of the sort.
His green and translucent spear was used as an anchor point as well! And when it was not, the spinning spear became a deadly trap. Not matter how Yu Xian moved, the clone would opt for the best movement, acting like an enemy impossible to defeat.
If Yu Xian tried to attack, his move would be deflected before the other hand of the spear would shot out for him, stabbing or swinging. It was not how a spear was believed to be used, it resembled more a pole's fighting style.
As for defending, Yu Xian did not have a chance either, soon overwhelmed under a literal torrent of strikes. They downpourred on him like a drunk man hoping to evade the rain. Luck was all he could have.
Obviously, after barely a few moments, Yu Xian had already been lightly struck a hundred times everywhere. His chest and legs the most hit parts.
Livia up in the sky was not in the mood to enjoy the other two's show of a defeat.

She had yet to give up like her fellow disciples, but Alexander's clone was clearly toying with her resolve. His sword patterns were as clear as day and as obvious as they came, yet each time she reacted to them, his arm would suddenly move without regards for momentum.
So what if she ducked a beheading swipe? The clone's arm would simply stop above her, before rotating its hand and slicing downward.
Such a scene was repeating over and over again, never stopping.
Livia's defeat ended just as fast as the other two. She might have held on and fought longer, but like her brothers, she was struck almost instantly.
If it were a real battlefield where life and death were on the line, Alexander's clones would have killed their opponents at roughly the same time in comparison for their cultivation base.
Maffrec had managed to refrain from getting hit for the first four strikes, Yu Xian escaped the first two and Livia only one.
Their defeat was not light, but crushing!
With the same cultivation base, in a fair duel, each felt their lacking capability. They first thought was that a powerful expert was only an older expert.
If they were born earlier and did not lack too much fortune, reaching certain heights was guaranteed. Therefore many thought that seniors were only that, seniors on the road of history who must be respected as to avoid unfavorable outcomes.
But Alexander wavered their belief. Even if he was much older and obtained many more opportunities and mastered countless more ways, a defeat so crushing was still hard to give excuses for.
Especially since history did not matter anyway. The past was the past and the present the present. All one could do was thrive to be the senior, or more so survive until they attained that glorious title.
They were already seniors, but only to the youngest generations, with most still below a proper standard. Looking the other way, their sect's master was clearly a senior amongst seniors.
His cultivation was extremely profound and his state of mind unshakable. They idealized all who were stronger. Their respect came from how someone in this world could be so overwhelming. They had fought against elders before, many above their realms, yet none came close to Alexander.
They had techniques, but lacked improvisation.
This realization abruptly shook them.
Instead of focusing on predetermined skills, techniques, secret arts and the like, why not focus on self improvement? Why bother with complex and difficult yet also predictable movements, when improvisation existed?
Alexander demonstrated this power hands first.
The difference between them was not about power, speed or martial arts. It was about the skillful usage of one's body and mind.
Most people used swords as swords and nothing else. They could stab and slash.
But after experiencing this display of mastery, they expected Alexander to use a sword as not only a sword, but a spear, axe and much more.
In the end, a blade was a blade and a hilt a hilt.
It did not matter if the blade was meant for an axe or a dagger. A blade was meant to cut and stab. If one could do it, why not the other?
Yu Xian now understood why his Sect Master always told him to focus on the Blade Dao instead of the most commonly used Sword Dao.
The difference between the two was indeed striking him now. This made him regret wasting so much time on this Dao, but also made him thankful for Alexander's rough teachings.
In this defeat, he, like his fellow disciples, had learned some valuable lessons.
If he had not been taught today, his future achievements would have been extremely limited!
Bowing respectfully, each and every disciple of the sect, be it participating ones or not, felt grateful.
The Martial Dao was often believed to be the pinnacle of one's favorite Dao. But today had been an eye opener. The Martial Dao was not about a fancy Sword Dao or a loathsome Blood Dao. It was about one's own journey and improvement.
Some may have fallen and some may have not. But instead of pitying the unknown road ahead, one should appreciate it.
The unknown meant a perfectly travelled road.
On the path of one's own bettering, the glaring unknown ahead indicated a perfected being up until that point. Some geniuses among the crowd felt an enlightening revelation. The foggy and rocky mountain blocking their view was not a talentless bottleneck or shortened Martial Dao. It was the opposite.
Only by finding intricate ways to heighten one's road would one break free from their potential's shackles.
His casual fun having ended in a true Heaven sent opportunities for many, Alexander decided to leave.
But he did not do so without any words of advice.
"Yu Xian, Maffrec! You have a thousand years to improve. I wonder how far you guys can make it."
The best outcome would be for one of them to be forever stuck at a different major realm.
This way, the tests would receive welcomed additional information.

While not my first time writing, this is my first time throwing anything I've written at the tender mercies of the internet. All criticisms welcome. 2.) Just to inform people early: There is no evil corporation looking to control the world with VR, there is no Krueger-esque "if you die in the game, you die for real.", and this isn't a story of some OP harem-loving god of the system. Nothing wrong with those stories this just isn't one. This is a simple story about a guy playing a game and finally 3.) This story is extremely rough, i did very little editing, this is just me gauging interest really. oh, and English is my 1st language, if for some reason you find that important. Note 2) from now on Book 1 will exist in its entirety on Royal Road while Books 2 and 3 (and any others) will be released on Amazon. I want to thank everyone who has been reading and has taken this weird journey with me. I will continue to write in my spare time and will always be thankful to Royal Road for giving me a space to be creative. Thank you to everyone.

The Loyal Ones [Dark Biopunk Fantasy]
TLDR; A slave monster survives horror, war and servitude, while trying to live with himself. Thralls are a race of monstrous slave soldiers, in a universe where biological magic takes the place of technology. Centuries ago, their ancestors were desperate humans, who volunteered to be transformed for the Poison War. Today their unfortunate descendants are still soldiers and laborers. In contract law they are 'corporate wards'; slaves owned largely by arms dealers. Dally Harper starts this story as a champion cage fighter. He is one of the 'lucky' ones. It's all downhill from there. Content Warning: Explicit violence and gore, slavery, implied sexual assault. None of these are framed as positive or glorified, however they do have a strong impact on the plot and main characters.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Cover art by me! [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
