Maple’s sacred text is a small, sturdy notebook. The first page reads:
Hi Bud, If you’ve lost your memory - don’t panic. It will come back. In the meantime, know that:
You have many friends in Lowgarden and try to do right by them. Your friends work to make the realm a better place, you help where you can. You enjoy studying runes and giving protective vests.
It’s a simple life, but you are grateful to have it.
Good Luck!
Maple (that’s us)
The next page is a list of friends and their various projects.
Cyan’s sacred text is a thin, flexible notepad. The first page reads:
I want to accept what I can’t control.
But it’s taking everything.
From everyone.
What’s the point in accepting that?
The next page is a list of failed plans to help people.
The spiders share a sacred text made of webbing and small bones. If you have eight eyes you can make out the following runes:
The past never happened.
The future never comes.
There is only now.
Saga’s sacred text is sparkles sewn into bright cloth. It reads:
I like to go with the flow.
It gets me where I need to go.
Also, the Frost is after me. And mercenaries, and gnomes, and spiders, and dragons.
Hopefully the flow takes me away from them.
Marcus has a scroll where he makes notes for sermons. The first lines read:
Fear not, for Wrecker has a plan. Submit to the plan and be saved. Pity the other, who does not submit. Help them submit, help them be saved.
The scroll is long, with thousands of lines.
Carl’s sacred text is a single line scratched into a small flask of poison. It reads:
THIS IS BULLSHIT
Vali’s sacred text is a scroll of skin, peeled from his own body. The first tattoos read:

I tore this flesh so I’d forget.
But when I forget, it happens again.
What follows is a long list of dark betrayals.
Duke’s sacred text is a crisp, white, hardcover book. It was given to him by Presto. It is blank.
Mindguy’s sacred text is a puzzle box. Twisting the puzzle box changes the meaning of the text. It’s impossible to solve, because many of the meanings make sense - any could be true. It can be laboriously manipulated to make Mindguy a member of any gang. Except there’s another layer of text, in a color only Mindguy can see, that shows a message obvious only to him. It reads:
If you are reading this, some fool was stupid enough to give it back to you.
Rejoice! For you are about to read the greatest story ever told!

The Cosmic Interloper
Synopsis: A cyborg transhuman escapes her corporate indenture and through unfathomably unlikely circumstances, she ends up in a fantasy world of full of unique magic, angry people with sharp implements, and the whole flavor-spectrum of divine entities. Hilarity ensues. Features: - No blue boxes or cultivation, this is not a LitRPG nor about martial arts - Hard-ish Sci-Fi meets hard-ish magic - Generally trying to keep this "rational" Rationale: My primary goal with The Cosmic Interloper is to write something that I myself would enjoy reading. Of course, that’s not the only motivation, but I think it’s the most important one for me to keep in mind, especially as the author. In fact, this whole story came about because after consuming oodles of fiction, I found myself craving a very specific type of story which I couldn’t find many examples of. Then I asked myself, “why not write it myself?” and here we are. Disclaimer: In general, while I’m not writing a comedy, I do intend for this story to be funny and a bit wacky or absurd. That said though, I am using this story as a vehicle to explore some potentially dark topics including (but not limited to) slavery, speciesism/racism, and existential questions of self, consciousness, and identity. Still, I’m going to leave the “traumatizing content” tags off, because I don’t feel that what I’ve written so far (or plan on writing) exceeds the threshold that would be necessary for me to tag it thusly. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way she views the world is not the objective truth (if such a thing even exists).
