Wales scoffed, “Wishing for something unattainable.”

Gu Mengmeng was stunned and did not understand.

Wales, “So long as Cole falls in love with you and you don’t love him… this torturous feeling would stimulate the sprouting of the third leaf of Soul of the Forest. The more pain he suffers, the faster this leaf would grow. “Is there any way to let the third leaf sprout and obtain the Spirit of the Rocky Cliffs, but the person who was the source of nutrients won’t die?” Gu Mengmeng asked.

Wales nodded and answered truthfully, “There is. You have to love him sincerely… cut half of your heart and give it to him, then he won’t die.”

When Wales finished his piece, he laughed first, then looked at Gu Mengmeng and asked, “Will you do that? Love Cole… and cut your heart for him to continue his life.”

Gu Mengmeng shook her head. “I won’t.”

Wales nodded approvingly and said, “So Cole is bound to die.”

Gu Mengmeng was not as optimistic as Wales. She could not understand the motive behind Cole’s actions. She did not believe that he would risk his own life for nothing.

Could it be that Cole had naively thought that Gu Mengmeng would cut her heart to save him?

Right, because his life was tied to Chixuan’s life. There might be a possibility that she would really cut half of her heart for him to save her son but the problem with this was that there was another important condition and that was that she had to fall in love with him for real.

Wales shook his head and said mysteriously, “Do you know why he had beaten up Auretin?”

Gu Mengmeng shook her head.

Wales laughed with his shoulders shaking and said, “Because he had heard over the castle wall the sounds while you were mating with Elvis, so he was angry, he was jealous, he was in a crazy rage… He did not dare to act impulsively in front of you so he vented it out on Auretin who was alone.”

Gu Mengmeng looked at Wales tongue-tied. He nodded his head seriously, indicating that whatever he had said was true, then he said softly, “Let me tell you another secret. When I beat him up… and used my snake tail to feel his chest, the third leaf… had already sprouted to form a bud, so I only beat him to a crippled state and not kill him…”
